The large homes feel like work, to manage getting around and remembering where everything is. They're beautiful without a doubt and allow you to feel as if your wealth is infinite; but it doesn't really feel like a home. More like a public estate. There are some grand cottages that you have shown that have a good mix of small and large. However the small cottages that are big on art, beauty, unique mechanics and custom assets feel more like a lived in home. Those seem like the most fun. Of course the story; Any home with a good story will give the place a sense of importance or sentimental value, even if it is lacking in the other departments. Loving the "pile" reviews. I believe the word pile has a slightly different perception in the States, but brings a smile to my face everytime I hear you use it. ❤
I agree, it's difficult to have a large "functional" player home, I have made quite a few very large player homes, castles and estates, even palaces (releasing them soon) The trick is to have each room with a unique function, bringing the player back to that area, now and then, even having features the player cannot do without, minus the long haul to get there.
I have had a great idea. When you have looked at everything in a room, you put down a tankard or ruined book by the door, then if you see a tankard when you go in a room you know you have done that one. I had to do that kind of a thing once in a Fallout:New Vegas playthrough in one of the huge buildings because I kept getting turned around and the bad guys kept reappearing. It would require carrying a LOT of ruined books or tankards or whatever. Haha I liked everything here except where it was the Haunted Mansion. I use mannequins myself but I try to make sure there are fewer mannequins than guards hehe.I absolutely LOVE the shield and banner designs for this one. Thanks for another great tour.
You know I finally return from the abyss that is my life and the first thing I thought when the video started playing is 'Where is my Feb!? We can't have conversations in the comments if she's no longer talking in the videos!' and then you did, thank goodness! XD Anywho, you hardly lost your way, I'm so proud of you!! You've made progress!! Okay, on to the house... I'm pretty sure that jail is better than some of the vanilla homes lol. Like, I would not be complaining if I was a prisoner there, js. Anyways, the courtyard is really pretty with lovely views. I feel bad for the stable hand who has to sleep on a stone bed though... my back is hurting just thinking about it. But the guards... hot damn! Talk about garnering loyalty from the staff!! Heck, can I go work there!? I'm loving the architecture and the banners and just overall grandness. I really love the red lighting in the underkeep (it's both creepy and gorgeous). There's plenty of space for the kids to play and hopefully not bother you (though you are a bit close to them so...). That garden space... I don't think I even need to say it, BEST ROOM (though I agree I would've loved to have it open or have a skylight). The library comes a close second. I love that there is a shower (even if it is hard to actually use lol) but still no toilets! I would've liked if there was a private bath/shower in the family living quarters (maybe an eventual add-on). Anways, overall I think this is a gorgeous castle, with stellar views and a pretty good centralized location with a huge throne room perfect for throwing balls ;)
It's a Christmas miracle! Imagine Clay Davis from The Wire saying "sheeeeeeeeeyit" - that was me when I saw your post /bearhug Dayam woman, so glad you're ok. And lol I know right? I AM getting a tiny bit better - though my sense of direction really still hasn't improved at all - luckily the people who watch my videos don't seem to mind too much LOL.
Lol hmm if I'm delivering xmas miracles then does that make me Santa Claus (I'm gonna go with yes cause you can't prove I'm not 😉). Oh and you getting lost is one of the many reasons we all keep coming back 😆 PS I finally tried out Sweet Home Valley and as much as I very much loved it(we both knew I would lol) it just ate up too much of my fps since I don't have a proper gaming computer (also I've got a shït ton of other mods rn)so I had to nix it 😢 but eventually I'll get a good gaming pc and it'll probably be the first one I get. Of course by then I'll hopefully ready to start making my own mods (fingers crossed lol cuz I've got even more ideas now)
I like a mix. It's nice to see the castles and maybe have one or two larger scale homes but personally I'd like them to be along the lines of "build your own noble home" pretty sure that was the name anyway. For regular use I like smaller to medium homes - like you said they feel more like a home or base
So far this is the most impressive player home I know of. It's definitely not easy to afford, and that's the only major problem I can think of as it is more a place to display stuff, and by the time you can get this, that stuff is probably scattered about. Auto undressing for NPC's at pools is fun, but could be a bit of a shock to a streamer. Your channel is DEMONETIZEDDDDDD! It seems like a good place to hold the Dragonborn Imperial Court rather than actually live in for comfort, and it's a shame that that resolution is not an option in the base game, and I am not aware of any currently maintained sse mod to let you resolve the civil war that way. I've seen many other prettier, cosier places that I would live in as a human, but if I was the Emperor and wanted to intimidate my subjects, or just have a history of the dragonborn museum, that is where I would be!
I keep hoping for the "large estate" of my dreams, where the top part is a noble area, with various NPCs and merchants, maybe even a Khajiit caravan outside. In the basement, an area for crafting; and a door leading further down that leads to a vampiric themed area with vampire NPCs, servant thralls for feeding, and vampiric-based merchants. Somewhere on the premises a teleportation array to various areas of interest along with various quest boards which give out radiant quests for each of the guilds. In the back, a graveyard, which when you go through the crypt, there is a door leading to a necromancer and dremora summoning chamber. In the cathedral, an area with the various shrines to the "good-aligned" deities, and then an area under that which leads to shrines dedicated to the more evil-themed ones (which should be compatible with Wintersun). To get this property, a main epic quest would need to be completed for each of the Jarls for the deed.
great castle but for me and my pc morthal home is small sweet both by skyrimlazz , the mod author can make large castles and small average player home and do them very good. happy Christmas to you and all
I remember that Morthal Home as being completely different on the inside than the outside lead me to believe lol. I have it on my to-do list! And Merry Christmas to you Woody - thanks for all your contributions to the comments - I really appreciate it!
I need to double check for the safe i have a vague memories of seeing one somewhere in the castle But that large room next to the dinner hall is the library with huge amounts of bookshelfs and it haves a librarian who will sell and buy books and spell tomes etc.
If I find this mod in Xbox one mods in the game, I'll get the multiple adoptions mod back, find the castle and adopt six children. It feels safe with the gate and guards, Looks like no Dragon can even get in there outside yard of it, It's perfect. Its like 100 percent safe from danger. I'm in love.
Cool castle but not the most secure castle. With it being at the base of a mountain it’s not very fortified from the rear and that’s how it would be attacked. I know I know it’s a fantasy game but even that has to be logical. Looks never held a castle for long. Still a very nice castle otherwise
is it just me or are there alot of bars in this keep? me thinks this is the home for the dragon born that rutinely knocks back one too many. jokes aside i have aylid palace and its really nice and practical but this castle is very tempting....its kindof funny i have several homes that i rarely actually use...ive become a horder of fancy realistate.
@@FebrithDarkstar My favorite homes are the "unearthly" ones in other planes...why,I even have a home that's that's a 9 level pocket dimension from the anime called overlord (and unlike other homes it's one you gotta work to get by going through the dungeon but it rewards you with unimaginably powerful artifacts).

Haven't picked this one up yet in either game. What's wrong with me? Wait, don't answer that! Could longer videos be what the RUclips algorithm likes this week, giving you more exposure with these? If it helps you take over RUclips and/ or Skyrim, it's not a bad thing!
LOL I have no clue how the RUclips algorithm works but I do know that if you google videos for Skystone then mine doesn't even show up /shrug It's a mystery! And don't get me wrong, whilst it's brilliant to watch the channel slowly growing (which is amazing by itself considering the age of the two games I cover), it's not my raison d'etre. I'd rather have the small and lovely bunch of people who are subscribed right now than 10 times that many filled with trolls and idlers.
@@FebrithDarkstar It's great seeing more people appreciate excellent work, and you're building a nice community. Besides that, your absence of a lust for power will make you a benevolent queen/ empress =P.

That's my feelings exactly about the large homes. "Pile" I think is a very British description for a home - often used in "my country pile" - I wish!

i only downloaded it because it has a treasure/display room that can show EVERYTHING collectable in game!

This is definitely my favorite castle mod for Skyrim. I love his work. I want this castle to exist in real life and for it to be owned by me. lol
