Three necked or bust
Hell yeah
@@yonaloamabsolutely agree. 3 neck or no deal, Mr Shapiro!
Why is it that japan has been a developed country for decades and yet they can’t develop homes anywhere near as nice and luxury looking as Homes in America or Australia or the U.K. or France. Why??
@@harry8201because they don't retain value. So why put in insulation, or central air, or make it nice in any way.
It's the one thing that drives me nuts about Japan, that your house it basically a total write-off.
House is actually pretty big for the price in Tokyo. Odd that the Master's bedroom in on the ground floor though.
In my country its pretty common to use one of the first floor room as a master's bedroom even in a 3 storey huge house despite of how luxury it actually is
When you get old, you’ll love it. No stairs.
@@Mickmickster i love it when i dont have to climb , am i old 😭
i've never lived in a house where the master isn't on the ground floor, is it common outside of the US? I love the master being on ground level
@@Mickmickster Why do you need an upper floor? or a house, instead of flat (condo)?
I really appreciate the neighborhood section before the house. Helps set the scene and we get to learn about quaint parts of Tokyo which don't usually get the spotlight. I've heard enough about Shibuya and Shinjuku, tell me more about the burger joints and instrument shops!
"The view is spectacular!" - Yeah, of the beautiful 3-phase powerlines. So scenic! I could spend hours watching them every single day. 😂
Tokyo vibes
Exactly what i thought lol. I'd rather have a less expensive house without the view
Need more standard house showcases like this.
yes
LMAO "standard house" for nearly 2 MILLION DOLLARS !!
@pillepolle3122 This is a standard sized house. Try Vancouver where I live and this house in a good neighborhood would cost around 5 million which makes this a steal.
@@timr.2257 sooo houses here and in neighbouring countries on the land - can still only gooo for 200k - so no this is no steal it is still fucking expensive .,... like 90% of humanity will not even come close to that number in saveings
@@timr.2257 You're comparing the most expensive cities in their respective countries. You're going to need a better term than "standard", especially given how above the average this house is for Tokyo, both in terms of size and price.
Bang & Olufsen has to be the best brand name of TV for doing some "Netflix and chill".
Probably the best expensive house on the channel yet that isnt useless "art"
tell me about it. the showcase of that artist house 2 months ago felt unlivable
There were better houses for a better price.
the powerlines and transformators an arms reach from the top balcony gave me nervous shakes x'D
me too.
The pair of Porsche 928s on the floor plan is an interesting touch.
Glad someone noticed
Those on-your-face power lines 🥹🥹
that was my exact thought when i saw how close they appeared at the end of the video. i wouldn't be splashing too much water nearby if someone was going to have plants in that area. maybe its further away than it looks. electricity can 'jump' to a source. 🙏 but i do love the house for everything else.
@@teamzissou2321 assuming that Japan has safety regulations similar to Europe, those cables should be at least 3m away. But it's also just really ugly.
they could have made the roof top on other side, the whole house is a mess design wise, verry unergonomic
Man this house really spoke to me. I really like the well optimized spaces in japan. But this house made use of it's extra space in very functional ways. The outdoor spaces, the big kitchen and pantry, the big bath, the extra car parking spot, ect...
You think so? There is no bathroom and washroom on the 3rd floor where the bedrooms are. Only a toilet and a sink to wash your hands after using the toilet. You got to walk down to the 2nd floor to do your morning routine. I can imagine the staircase becoming a bottleneck when people need to move around in the morning.
@@zam023 I admit good point. If the 3rd floor had a full bath instead of 1 of the 3 bedrooms it would probably be better. Then the powder room on the 2nd floor could move into the old bathroom spot and the dining/ living could be open. But I bet the people buying this would not have someone living in every bedroom.
I think this design layout is maybe one of the best ever shown on the channel.
It would be interesting to see if they took the ground floor and redesigned the area to have that space for an office instead of the master bedroom.
Ok, this IS a nice house! This one definitely speaks to me. Great for a family, not too big and not too small either.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I never liked the living room and kitchen being in one room, so them being separate (but close to each other) is a great design choice in my opinion. And the closet space, my god, there is so much of it! It's great!
If I had the money and a family, I would definitely consider living here!
i agree about the separate kitchen. perhaps bc i'm indonesian and our food are spicy and oily. kitchen is not a place to hang out, especially for guests. in fact you wouldn't want them to be there when someone else is cooking, bc you'll cry and you'll smell.
sooo how are the 4 side jobes to your main working out xD - like even then no ordinary person will reach nearly 2kk - it is kinda insane how houseing prices have developed and yen is really fuckin weak right now -- like super weak - this house would easily go for 5 kk in that location .... damn it is a pain to be poor
@@ManiX207 lmao yeah, there is no way I'll ever make enough money to buy this house, not in my life lol
I don't like them separate, for me a kitchen is a living area so should be combined. For smelly food you just use a second kitchen, popular all over the world and never an expensive addition
Master Bedroom by the front door, thats jus ridiculous, 😊
He is baaackkkk❤❤❤
Damn, had just subscribed few minutes ago and now I get recommended your latest video. Thanks for these house tours, I have a dream of moving to japan one day because I just love it.
Even if I was super rich, I'd air dry on balconies. Less lint blowing around unit.
I don't care about the house, but the Le Mans-esque jacket is badass.
I love that you show us the area first, i might only be dreaming of living there, but it's nice to know that there's a local Baskin Robbins 😂
Beard game = stepped up; guest star game = impressive expertise!
WOWSER! Gorgeous house that has everything! Will sell quickly, IMHO! 👍👏❤
these are so calming for some reason
A very beautiful home!
Hey sweetie, I so love those genkan areas inside of flats and houses in Japan!!!
Thanks for letting us enjoy all those beautiful places one can buy (or rent), you are fun, professional and enthusiastic!!
Warm greetings from an old rebel-Pinkie
Beautiful home
This house has so much to offer!
Very nice home, well executed design
That deck though! With the water source being up there, I'd have a rooftop garden so fast.
Haha yeah that'd great!
Awesome!!!!!
Nice place. Previous house on the lot looked pretty nice also. That house had a bit of a yard to it. Easy to find on Google maps. Go to the 'hood. Search for the coffee shop. Start looking south of the railroad tracks. The latest Google image shows a empty lot covered by a blue tarp. You are looking for the apartment complex across the street. While nice, not sure if I could get used to the meat and potatoes (dining, kitchen, LR) upstairs. All the appliances have to be moved a narrow set up stairs. Also, groceries would be a PITA after awhile. Still a very nice and modern place.
That place is pretty gorgeous!
This ias one of the best house ever! If I am living in Japan and I do have that amount of money, I will definitely buy this house.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was about to sleep , I'm gonna check this out later morning
It still amazes me how houses with this price tag don't include a dishwasher, oven and a stove with at least 4 burners.
When's the last time you used 4 burners simultaneously? I think the rest of the works could catch up to 3 or even 2 burner supremesy.
Lack of oven is terrible though. 😂
great vid
super fresh house.
My neighborhood in America was built in the 40s and that garage/entryway is practically identical to mine.
love the jacket
i love see all this expesinve houses all over japan... but i was wondering... how many of them get sold? Like im genuinely curious about it, like they sold them to mostly Japanese people o are the acquirents mostly foreigners?
Just to give you an idea, all of the ones featured on my channel have sold, and mostly to Japanese people
@@TokyoPortfolio oooh okok thanks for the answer i was genuinely curious about it :)
@@TokyoPortfolio That's wild given that most Japanese people are poor lol
@@TokyoPortfoliomy dead ass brain thinking "huh.. people bought those micro apartment that was reviewed. Damn weird people" until I realized that was Tokyo Lens.
Paying 0.3% on a housing loan (+ income tax break) is what sells these.
amazing
Definitely designed with the vertically challenged in mind…
The kitchen and bathroom countertops would only come up to my knees.
This might actually be my favorite house youve showed off. I live not too far away and if I had the money...
I'm impressed actually because I see this street, corner and kind of similar home in mangas but the best part is see the home in real life even though yes is not the same home 100% but it's looks amazing, it's new, the price is good, great location and dimensions for a western person specifically is great. 👏
PD: And the car too and go get Chris and show this home to him 😂.
Miss this kind of videos from you!
Geez, here in Toronto, Canada, $1.5 mill gets you a modest 2 bedroom bungalow.
Lol now I'm more interested in the guitar shop! I love Japanese synths, effects, guitars etc.
That is a beautiful house. So much light makes it so welcoming. Also very luxuerious.
thank you
Great video! When are we going to get an update on your new office?
This is to be honest the best house you've showed. Plenty big, cozy and not that expensive for the luxury market and its size in Tokyo.
Those shower dryers ...
Like you can hang your clothes outside during the Kanto rainy season and they STILL get dry faster. It's the same thing with the combo washers. There's no actual reason they don't work (except the whole 100V factor, but 1000W of heating should still dry the clothes faster than 6 hours.)
I found out the other day that they actually have combo washers in the Americas (which are mostly 120V, but they have 240V units too apparently.) Anyways, they actually dry the clothes in a normal amount of time, say 90-120 minutes. Why oh why? (I'm complaining but we have a city gas dryer that works great.)
Nicely designed floorplan for the space. The overall size is rather insane, even in that price range for the location, and I appreciate the tour!
Have to say though, while you're normally high energy on these tours, this one felt a bit rushed. Don't know if it was the editing, or just the general tempo, just felt different to your normal pace.
Either way, thank you again for the tour of another amazing house!
Nice house
you look like James Dean!
Nice video. We viewed this house but passed on it. iNest really pay attention to their finishing and we looked at many of their new properties around Setagaya as we really appreciated how nice they are. But there was always something slightly offputting either shape/size of the plot, proximity to a major road or rail line, or orientation vs summer sun. We ended up in 下馬2丁目 with another builder and whilst happy with the house it doesn't have quite the finishing of iNest., but considerably less expensive and better plot size and orientation.
Alex should totally have a mullet, it suits him. And yeah, the house is nice too.
Nice house! Would be great to have a similar channel for Seoul real estate.
Super awesome house! Does that clothes drying system on the deck work year round?
The home exterior is like normal house. Did the developer make the house that way just to blend in with the surrounding building? it just giving me a sleeper car vibe lol.
I don't think so. The house isn't on Google maps street view, but the property is easy to find. Find the neighborhood. Find the coffee shop. Go south of the tracks a couple of blocks in. Look for the Adobe colored apartment building across the street. This property is covered by a blue tarp. Nice place, I wouldn't have trouble living there, but the immediate neighbors look like they all live in spaces only a fraction the size of this one.
@@dlewis9760Found it. After seeing the surrounding from the Google map, the exterior of the house is not normal compare to its surrounding. It's just that house design kinda 'bland' modern home for me. I do agree with you, the house area is big and having 2 car space is a big plus for this house.
Why are gas cookers so common in the kitchen? Isnt induction much better (safer, cleaner...?
If i had that kind of money i wouldn buy a house, where the balkony would be facing the street and my neighbours could look right onto it. But otherwise its looks quite nice.
1.75 million still get you a pretty nice house with land in Hawaii no less on the mainland. Hyannis port style. Use the remainder to visit again and again.
no snow in tropical island sir but cold water or weather is available in mountain
I lived in Chitose Karasuyama and worked in Eifikucho back in the day. I know Madaimae well. Or I did 20 years ago.
11:33 Also the view, the view is spectacular, look at the view, look at the view!!!
The view: 🤣
Great property. For the same money you would be hard pressed to find something comparable in LA.
I think I found my dream home.
Your shirt reminded me of you having a Pug! Do you still have them? Love those guys 😩
Hi Julian 👋
Nice house and the rooftop is amazing, but the powerlines are kinda scary tbh D:
First time I hear needing gas for a dryer. O_o
Do you also acquire the land? Because just the house makes a pretty cheap impression here and there
Yes, the price includes the land
@@TokyoPortfolio Ah okay, combined with the location the price makes sense
Geeez....that one property is worth more than all my 15 properties combined! I'd rather be farther out and pay 80% or more less :)
What an incredible home. Apologies if I 've mentioned it previously, but that "Malibu beach house vibes in Toritsudaigaku" is still something I dream about. Love the channel. Great content.
hi camera man
Its lovely, reasonably priced too.
I think this is the first place from your videos that I really like it. The stairs are not good, way to steep for a house, but it has a nice distribution. No weird/useless corners.
if money wasn't a problem... then i'll take this for myself
but gotta dream sometimes
This looks absolutely spectacular.. and I hope it is in reality too.
Did I see marble floors?
Did you say 3 or 4 storey house?
Thanks Alex
I like this a lot. Can it be a rental when not in Japan
It should be a LEXUS in there!
11:48 there are some strings visible behind your back. Can you hang laundry on them to dry? 🤔
I live near the railway and love the sound of trains going by, it's so relaxing!
dude changing his style every video.
The interior space is quite nice, although I'm not so sure about the location. Sure, being close to a major transit point is definitely a benefit in you're living in Tokyo, but in terms of aesthetics, the neighborhood leaves much to be desired to put it kindly. That spiderweb of electric cabling and distribution transformer atop the utility pole being so close to my roof-deck would be a deal breaker. If I was in the market for a home in this price range, I would be looking at a neighborhood that presents as a little more upscale with more greenery and boutique shops in the nearby vicinity. Good job though. You sell it quite well. I'm sure this is the perfect spot for someone out there. Just not me.
Second!
For a shin-chiku/newbuild home like this, how much will the cost depreciate over, say, 10 years in Japan?
One can live an hour outside Tokyo, build a house nicer than that w bigger bedrooms, deck, gym, a large yard, garden etc... with views of mountains etc.... for.... half the price.
What kind of barbeques are allowed in Japan? Gas, wood, charcoal, or electric?
If it's your own house, all kinds!
Was there really no door between the entrance and the room with the wash basin on the ground floor? It looked like an empty doorway which strikes me as an odd way of doing it.
It's a hidden sliding door
@@TokyoPortfolio Ah, that makes a lot more sense
"The rooftop is about 20 sq m" then up comes the floor plan showing 12.5sq m.. lol
Whoops
Edit -- Looking back at it, it's 12.5 Jo, which is a Japanese measurement of area equal to 1.52㎡. So it comes out to 19㎡!
@@TokyoPortfolio There was 2 in there somewhere, so obviously, close enough, right?
Real estate agents 😅
@@ibarocky He corrected himself, 12,5 Jo, it's around 19 square meters
Is the lady liiving behind the stairs included in the price?
I don’t get how this works with the avg pay being so much lower there. I think 80k usd annual puts you in the top 1-3% earners.
It’s depressing to know that even with a few million dollars in the bank you still couldn’t buy anything impressive in a major city. That roof terrace looked more terrifying than spectacular to me surrounded by all the electricity pylons.
How far is it from Shibuya?
Cud a small elevator be installed?
How much is the real estate taxes?
Shoutout from Wall Street, Manhattan, NYC!!!
This was a very European town house style home!
What's the going rate for utilities?
Are utilities nationalised or does your electricity/water/gas come from private companies?
Why are solar panels not used more especially on new builds?
Utilities for something like this will be around $200-$300 a month. Water is municipal while gas and electric are private. Solar panels are used in some new builds, and the laws are changing soon to require them in a lot more.
Cool house but I'll take inaka living anytime.
I would have asked the designer how they keep it sound proof next to a train station.
How much of the price do you think is the land? Like if someone wanted a house like this further away from central tokyo, would it be alot cheaper?
I have a question or two?
Does the house have a qualified fiber optic connection? Does the gas pipe run all the way to the roof terrace?
It supports fiber optic connections and the gas does not go to the roof
@@TokyoPortfolio its good and the secound is bad. thank you very mush.
