Greg’s behavior when they started ridiculing his eating habits is something I relate to. I have avoided eating around ppl for my whole life. Dating is so hard, eating dinner with someone else’s family is hell. My parents (once I was diagnosed with an eating disorder) told me they’d lay off trying to force me to eat new foods or doing the “eat this or eat nothing” approach.(PSA if your child would rather not eat for a WHOLE day than try new food it’s deeper than just being picky) They taught me how to make food for myself and that’s what I did at home, when I slept over at ppls house I NEVER expected them to cook me something special. I would always have a few snacks in my bag and I would ask if I could make myself a PB sandwich, when I got older my dad always sent me with cash that way if they ordered pizza or something I’d have money to buy some breadsticks.
Wow Emma b I have never been diagnosed with a eating problem just because I’m on more of the plus side but I am an extremely picky eater I refuse to try anything new. Recently I started feeling uncomfortable eating in front of people. My mom has always said I’ve been a picky eater to the point where I will go like a day or two without eating something I didn’t want to eat. Like certain type of vegetables or certain type of desserts or foods that I did not like I never wanted to try it and I thought that maybe I was over doing it but seeing this now the PSA part says a little bit more on what I could have been experiencing.It’s like I would rather starve than eat some thing I don’t like so I may have a problem or I may just really be a picky eater
@@Godloveslittleoldme I am on the plus side as well. If my parents hadn’t took my to an eating specialist I would’ve never known. I honestly think they initially took me bc I do have an autist cousin and I believe my meltdowns over trying new foods made them want to get me tested. I have several other sensory things but never diagnosed with autism. Eating was the main symptom that affected my day to day. The way they dealt with my eating is one thing I think my parents did perfectly. They didn’t try to change it but they made sure I was responsible and able to take care of it.
I am relating to Greg TOO much. I went to an eating disorder specialist as a kid. It’s actually an eating disorder called Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Not diagnosing him but that’s what I was diagnosed with so I can relate. I was able to slowly introduce more foods but like he said nothing mixed fr. No pizza, soup, casserole. The most mixed food I eat is like grilled chicken nachos
I will say that some folks have safe foods (mainly people on the autism spectrum), and so I feel like he's being coded at such (especially for other traits we see later on in the show).
I actually know peopel who had bad pizza experiences and were put off it for awhile. Food poisoning or eating it right before a stomache bug kicked in was generally the reason
Honestly, we like "pairings" more than individual characters. Ava and Janine are golden, but Greg and... well just about anybody is pretty hilarious. If we had to choose one, I'd go with Greg.
