- Student diesel engineer, Ryan Handel, getting his checkride Thursday afternoon, in charge of the NP 7012A, a F9A, built for the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1956. The engine has basically been in continuous service on the NP, BN, and the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad, since its donation to us.
The F9 runs on Thursdays in July and August.

Nice video. I just found out about this locomotive from watching a movie that starred in "Born to Be Wild". Is it still an operation in 2023.
