Sir there is a huge mistake in it . Portia counterattacks Shylock by saying that "U can take a pound of flesh but according to bond there shouldn't drop a single drop of blood otherwise u will be executed".

A CORRECTION: I have read the entire novel thoroughly and I confidently state that Portia's argument which is stated by study iq is wrong. In the novel, you will see that nothing such (that by venetian law, one cannot shed Christian blood) is mentioned.
THE ACTUAL ARGUMENT PROPOSED BY PORTIA IS: the bond does allow Shylock to take 'a pound of flesh' but no more. It does not give Shylock the right to shed even a single drop of Antonio's blood. Thus, Shylock must take his forfeiture i.e. a pound of flesh. But while cutting it, if he sheds even one drop of Christian(Antonio's) blood, Shylock's lands and goods shall be confiscated by the state of Venice.

1.) Antonio and Shylock are connected not only through their mutual hatred and their interests as `traders', but are also tied together in a web of debt. As both men are debtors, so both are loaners of money. As we have' seen, it is largely upon the issue of the lending of money that their hatred rests.
2.)Jessica abandons her father, Shylock, and her Jewish identity in order to marry Lorenzo and convert to Christianity. She makes it clear that she is unhappy living with Shylock, saying things like “our house is hell” and “though I am daughter to his blood / I am not to his manners” (II.
3.)Bassanio needed to borrow money in order to court Portia, a wealthy and beautiful noblewoman with an estate. Bassanio needed to dress well, prepare gifts for her, travel to her estate, and generally spend money to present himself in the best possible light to woo such an important woman.

Shylock was a merchant who lives in venice and Shylock is a money lender who gives money to needy people with great interest .they already knew each other but they hated each other. When bassanio took 3000 gold coins antonio works as a mediator for his friend.he is also a mediator for shylock. Shylock wanted to shed his pound of flesh ..that's the relation between Shylock and antonio 🙏🙏🙏 2nd answer - jessica ran away with Lorenzo because they were in love with each other and she knew that his brother wouldn't allow her to marry with Lorenzo because he was Chris and jessica was jews answer 3 -bassanio borrowed interest from shylock to show him as a rich man 🙏🙏

1:THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANTONIO AND SHYLOCK WAS LIKE FIRE AND WATER THEY BOTH HATED EACH OTHER.
2:JESSICA RAN AWAY WITH LORENZO BECAUSE SHE KNEW HER FATHER WOULD NOT AGREE ABOUT THE MARRIAGE AS LORENZO WAS A CHRISTIAN AND SHYLOCK WAS A JEW.
BASSAION borrowed MONEY FROM SHYLOCK BECAUSE HE WANTED TO GIVE A GOOD IMPRESSION IN FRONT OF PORTIA.

    1. Shylock lended money to Bassanio and Antonio was witness for Bassanio.
    2. Because both were lovers and Jessica's father was opposed to her relationship because Lorenzo was a Christian, so she ran away with him.
    3. To represent himself as a rich person in front of Portia so that he could impress her.

    1) Antonio and shylock are rivals of each other, shylock a jewish money lender lends money on very high interest on the other hand antonio was very kind hearted person.
Antonio always oppose the act of high interest of jews money lender therefore both are not suitable for each other.
    2) Jessica the jewish was in love with her boyfriend lorenzo who belongs to Christianity.Jessica clearly understands that her father not marry her to desired person thats why she flew away with her boyfriend lorenzo with money to create a new begining of her life.
    3) Bassanio was a gold digger,he is trying to impress his wealthy lady love Portia for this firstly he approaches his best friend antonio but he was failed to manage the amount therefore he borrow money from shylock.

1.Antonio and Shylock were business rivals.
    2. This is because she loved Lorenzo.
    3. This is because Antonio had no money with him because he had sent his ships to other countries and spent whole of his money in this . That is why he asked Bassanio to go to some money lender and he would be his gaurantier.
