Thank you so much for this! My professor told us to write a draft for our final paper and while I was wondering how I was going to do the essay was when I realized that my professor hadn't even taught us how to write one in the first place and just went over the slides while giving us the lectures.
@@mikeholober6378 I'm struggling a lot.. my writing isn't as good as I wish it was and I'm having a hard time putting everything I need to put, how to organise it and coming up with the thesis. I think I'll have to switch the artowork I'm using and see how it goes or restart the essay all over again
@@Dani_1012 Is there a writing center at your school? The tutors in the writing center can help you. As for the thesis: art history papers are not like a lot of the writing you were taught to do: you aren't going to "argue" an opinion (like "I think vaping should be banned, and here's why"). Instead, you are going to "show" something you already learned in class: such as "This painting exemplifies the new Humanist outlook of the Renaissance." But remember: even if you are a little uncertain about your thesis, if you can just describe and analyze the painting well, you should get a decent grade. Good luck!
