John Reinke was one of the few genuine good people in the show. He seems to make sense every time he talks and you can clearly see he loves the animals.
He’s not a good guy he doesn’t talk to Joe because he doesn’t want to incriminate himself when Joe is going to talk to him about when he killed cats because this guys been around there for years and killed plenty of cats and he should be sitting in jail

The only person on that show that actually deserves his own zoo... Seems to really love the animals in a healthy honest way and is able to suss out curruption and human sickness pretty thoroughly
He says Rick Kirkham started that fire but that doesn't make since. Why would he burn his retirement up? Or why would he take the safe and stash footage that wouldn't be able to make money on? It did look like him walking past in the video, but just because he walked past doesn't mean he set a fire. Kirkham said in an interview he retrieved a safe that was completely melted. So that's probably the safe he's talking about.

As much as Reinke seems like a genuinely nice guy, I find it doubtful that he wasn’t somewhat complicit in Joe’s nefarious activities involving animal cruelty. That was Joe’s right-hand man for YEARS. Reinke was the head zoo keeper, and he starred in so many of JoeExoticTV’s videos (i.e. in the docu-series, that one videoclip of Joe and Reinke sitting next to him about to ship snakes to Carole Baskin). I’ve watched so many interviews regarding the GW Zoo and from the information provided by other interviewees, Joe had killed many more animals than just five tigers. Those five dead tigers were just the easiest to prove because of the skeletons found and used as evidence in court. People also seem to forget that there were 19 other wildlife charges Joe was found guilty of. How did Reinke not know that tons of exotic animals had disappeared off the property when he was head zoo keeper? And if it’s like Reinke had claimed in this interview that he just did what Joe Exotic had told him to because that was his boss, I would still question his ethics. If my boss told me to kill endangered animals or even bear witness to something that horrendous, I would have booked it out of there. But then again, I wasn’t there so I don’t know all of the circumstances.

I like to be contrarian in situations like this, especially if everyone is on this man’s side. We all weren’t there, so there’s no sense in believing Reinke’s words more than anyone else.

I see no reason not to believe this man Like anything or anyone else involved who has the right to discredit him. I found it interesting that he made the statement that he could not understand why he was not called in to testify. Great question. Perhaps because he was not involved in the drug scene or an addict, had been there the longest and could provide the most credible testimony that would give Joe a favorable outcome. I believe that he said his marriage had failed because of his time spent on the zoo. So he had a home for himself. Guess we may take that off the table. It’s not fair to put him into the same category with the others. The number of animals that Joe is said to have killed is an accusation that is unfounded. Like Carole Baskin likes to say the same about her being accused of killing her missing/dead husband... I’ll leave that right here... Morales are a wonderful thing and everyone should have them. Personally we should take the time to know the person and what other views they have on other things before we naturally take their side. Are they pro life or only animals lives matter.
