I cut firewood in the early 1970's to heat my home (during oil crisis). I learned the hard way without any knowledgeable people to teach me. The lessons were hard, although they were permanent. I enjoy the availability of experienced teachers who use the internet as a positive teaching tool for those who want to learn. I accepted the Lord when I was 28-years old, now I am 79. Blessings to you.
That is awesome! I too learned some lessons the hard way. Learned some from older hands. I am blessed no doubt. Thank you sir for the kind words and also for taking time to watch and comment. I appreciate it! Take care my friend and do come again, please
Thank you for letting us hang out with you. I do enjoy watching and learning what you teach on every video. No time is wasted when hanging out with you Zach! God bless brother!
Thanks brother! That means a lot and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. That makes it worth doing. And thank you for hanging out with us. Take care my friend and do come again, will ya?!
Like watching and listening to a surgeon! Love it! Once again I have learned something about cutting and managing a chainsaw! Thank you sharing your vast knowledge with us!
You’re welcome! I’m glad ya enjoyed it and thx for the kind words. Thanks for taking time to watch and comment also! Take care and do come again, please
You’re most welcome! I’m always glad to share what little I know if I think it can help someone on down the road. Thank you ma’am for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please!
Yes, sir buddy, you are welcome! And yes, sir, you are right on the white Oak. To me it is some of the prettiest wood. Thank you so much again for the kind words, and for taking time to watch and comment. Take care of yourself, and do come again, please.
It’ll def help ya. Always cut the compression side first then the tension last. Sometimes the compression is on top and you finish from the bottom. But anyway, good to hear from you. And thank you sir for taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please
Good video as always Zach. Yes sir I was taught a lot but I learned a lot about cutting trees by doing and of course mistakes. Especially cutting trees off of fences after storms and cutting firewood. You can't help it sometimes getting your saw in the dirt and it doesn't take much for it to dull it. Nice looking job you are doing for your neighbor. God Bless Y'all too. Stay safe out there working especially in the heat.
Yessir brother you’re right! Long as I been doing this, I still get mine in the dirt every once in a while. And still get pinched every now and then. Thanks for the kind words my friend and thanks for watching and commenting! Take care and do come again, please
I’ll have a video out of them soon. We’re getting spoiled up for the next job. Thanks for the kind words my friend and for watching! Take care and do come again, please
Thank you sir! Maybe not a master…but def experienced lol. I’ve stuck several in my life. Anyway, thank you for taking time to watch and comment: take care and do come again, please

Yessir, I’ve pinched quite a few myself. Even ruined a few chains doing it. Heck, I still pinch one every once in a while. It happens. It does seem tho the more you do it, the better ya get and learn better techniques. Thanks for the kind words my friend and also taking time to watch and comment: take care and do come again, please

I had no teacher when I started cutting with a chainsaw and so it took some experience of pinched saws till I learned the right approach. Your video would have come handy, but you were only a little kid then.
There is a lot of us that learned that way. I saw my uncles and Pa cutting with saws. But honestly, they never really taught me a whole lot. More of a monkey see monkey do type of thing. I learned several lessons the hard way too. Thanks for the kind words and for taking time to watch and comment my friend. I appreciate you. Take care and do come again!
Yes ma’am, a dull saw is a dangerous saw. You’ll burn one up too! Thank you for always watching and commenting. You’re a treasure! I’m always happy to hear from you. Take care my friend and do come again, please
THANK YOU! for video's it's definitely a teaching tool with anybody that wants to learn. And most of all telling people about Jesus the only Saviour our redeemer, I try not to miss a video and looking forward to seeing that added trailer to your equipment.
Hey, thank you! And you’re welcome!! I surely appreciate it and glad ya enjoyed the video. Thank you for always watching and commenting. Take care my friend and do come again, please
Probably the most is 10 tons worth of logs; truck empty is 13,500. Gross weight is 32k. I’ve been close to 35k a time or two unintentionally. Sometimes it’s hard to guess the weight. It’s been a pretty old truck! Thx for watching and taking time to watch and comment. Take care and do come again, please
Stihl and Oregon chain are my two picks. I prefer Stihl a little better just because the teeth are a little longer so you get a couple more sharpenings out of them and also the heat treat in them seems a little better butttttt Oregon is a close second. I like full chisel chain for normal felling and bucking then semi chisel if I am cutting a lot of dirty wood. But I mostly run full chisel. As of late, I’ve started using full skip chains also..and I’ve grown to really like them. You can run a slightly longer bar on less power. And it’s easier to sharpen. Plus is cleans out better of wood chips when cutting. It does cut just a tad slower than a full house chain does. I’ve tried a couple semi-skip chains, and thought they were good too. Semi skip is the best of both worlds I guess. Anyway, hope this answers your question buddy. Have a super good day and thanks for taking time to watch and comment! Take care and do come again!
