i’ve had four different pixie cuts in my life and grown them all out, the awkwardness that some of the growing out stages exude is real. the biggest tip i have is to get regular trims on the back, get rid of the mullet completely as soon as you notice it looks longer than the rest of your hair, this helps the top of your hair catch up i guess with the bottom of your hair making you look like you have a micro bob HAHAHA and it also makes you look like you have an actual haircut and not just a grown out mess, i promise getting regular trims maybe every three? months is the best thing you can do when growing out a pixie, it may sound counterproductive since you’re trying to grow it out but it helps a ton i swear. or maybe keep the mullet if you want to go for the modern mullet look but you should probably still get a little trim to add some shape and movement back into your hair. other than that, i used to take biotin but honestly it does nothing but if you wanna take it you can; not washing your hair everyday is also one of the best things you can do for your hair in general, and umm be patient i know in the meantime it might seem like it’s taking forever to grow but i swear it’s growing you just don’t notice it, try to enjoy your short hair while you have it because you won’t have it anymore in a few months, i know that’s easier said than done especially when you dislike your haircut, but it’ll make it easier, get cute hair accessories such as hair clips, barrettes, headbands, bandanas, etc. and they’ll make the awkwardness easier to handle :) that’s it from me, sorry i wrote so much adjhfkajd good luck and have fun with your hair !!

I got my hair cut last week! OMG! She cut one side longer and behind my ears chopped out pieces more on the left side of my head. Mullet in back. My husband cut some off look a little better, but still there. Castor Oil helps grow eyes, brow hair and hopefully hair on the head!

Yup, that's me... BUT I got lucky because while growing out my Pixie (with shaved undercut at 4mm on all sides) my parting switched itself from deeep sidepart to a kinda middlepart. First trim at a chin length bob but underneath is a mess with 6 months worth of undercut grow out on all sides. It's a crazy HOT summer and i need to look put together and "serious" for work. Please send help (or someone that hides all razors from me) 🫠

I have the same thing right now......I dont agree about chopping the mullet bc so many do that and its like a helmet head look. Not for me. I have seen many grow it out in layers and its very cute. Once the sides grow longer to the chin it will begin to look more normal. shaved sides take forever to grow out. its 9 months since I had to cut the henna off and by one yr I will have a long shag.
We are in exactly the same stage of awkward hair. Same inche. You really should cut your mullet, i cut my every 2 weeks and it look much better. You will feel better and prettier if you cut it out
I don't get this mullet stage everyone speaks of. Isn't a mullet long in the back and short in front? My hair which has been clipper cut in the back and short layered scissor cut on top, is now unfortunately growing out because all the salons are closed because of this quarantine, and the top is already too long and heavy while the back is still short and close to my head, and that's what I hate.

I just cut the back. In the early stages I sometimes pull up pieces of the top and lightly cut it just for some height. I also trim my bangs a little to go with the shorter hair on top. Then no more except the back. I got a micro pixie six months ago and have had many pixie cuts. The mullet look never fly's with me. I try it because hair looks longer over time, but then I just can't.
I just got a hair cut similar to theirs and I love my hair now. I have naturally curly/wavy hair so my mom chemically relaxed it, which burned a lot ngl.

cut the mullet. Then it looks less akward. I cut my mullet of when i grew out my layers. And it looks more put together
