omg I looove week-long outfit experiments like this, and i also know they take a lot to film and put together so props for that!! this was so fun to watch
This might sound really stupid but I feel like I have anxiety about so many things, so when picking what I wear, it's the one place where I can actually stay firmly in my comfort zone. I know what I like and what makes me feel at least a little confident and I don't want to change it. I envy how brave you are to change your style and try new things.
Those brown coveralls are FANTASTIC... I LOVE them! You can always wear a long sleeve top or sweater underneath, and you can then put a vest on top. Try a chunky belt too... there are so many ways to change them up. I have a couple pairs, and they can be so versatile. Let your imagination run free... just have fun with them! They look great on you by the way! 🤩❤
I love them too! I always like wearing my hair up messy with some strands down, and chunky gold earrings when I wear mine. Also I think with these brown ones I’d probably role up the sleeves once or twice. Maybe a chunky boot?! 🙌🏻
The barrel Jean outfit looked awesome on you, and I loathe barrel jeans. I’ll never wear them, but you changed my mind that they don’t suck for everyone
The jumpsuit is so nice on you! I'd recommend adding in some colour, maybe a colourful sock and a bandana around your neck in a contrasting colour to brown like pink, yellow or green. Maybe also sizing smaller if you prefer the fit to be closer to your waist.
Alexa you NEED to get a poncho like that one. It's genuinely one of my favorite outfits I've seen you in, it just suits you so well especially that tone of yellow! I've never wanted to reach through the screen and have an outfit more
You are the only person I've seen that has styled the barrel jeans in a way that I actually found cute and made me not hate them 😂, they actually look really good on your frame
The poncho outfit was soooo cute and so 70s!! I love that style on you!! I know it isnt your favorite, but I do think it suits you so well, especially with your hair too 😍
Yes Alexa come join us in the coveralls / boiler club! 😂 but seriously, I almost spit my drink out when I saw you pull that out. I am wearing a long sleeve purple one right now. I love jumpsuits in general so much. They stand on their own but I am maximalist so I accessorize with additional collars, scarves, skinny scarves, giant pendant necklaces, arm warmers / gloves, overskirts and or belts and ruffle leg warms to stick out under them and over my docs.
I love the barrel jeans with the striped tee. And it would look lovely with kitten heels. And the poncho is chef's kiss. I see it more like boho style, not cowboy. I'm glad you didn't change your boots.
Being a german in fall, where workwear and funcion wear is suuuper duper popular in general, I am waiting for coveralls to come into style as well(and differnet torso lenghts...). So useful for gardening and physical work. Also the high waisted cargo pants from workwear brands with with little inbuilt cincers, so much more comfy than belts...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience wearing these unfamiliar items! This was definitely a good reminder to always consider the functionality of an item and the way it will interact with clothes you’d wear it with, and to go into a store to try on a new silhouettes (or borrow from friends/family). One thought I had about the camo pants is that I could see it making more sense with your style if the color combination was more subdued (e.g. dark monochrome and/or muted) and the silhouette was more fitted (similar to your black/yellow plaid pants) or grunge (like a wide-leg trouser). I think the fabric, bold color combo, and cinched ankles made them look like a costume and really threw them into the “parachute pant” category lol 😅
You looked so sunny 70s in the poncho outfit! And, I see the direction you were thinking of going with the capris, which could have been a rockabilly cool look (totally get why you had to abort the original styling, though-- the logistics of being a woman are rough sometimes!).
Looooved this type of video! I’ve been experimenting wish fashion lately and have gone out in some outfits that I ended up feeling really uncomfortable in, but it helped me realize my preferences moving forward! Thanks for putting all this effort in to the vid!🤗
I love ponchos, I have a few vintage ones my mom and aunts made in the 70s. I think vintage ponchos just kind of have wild colors bc that was in in the 60s/70s. Also I'm such a fan of barrel jeans they make me feel like a classy clown
I really like the cargo pants outfit!! I love the juxtaposition of the more masculine pants with the hyper-feminine top!! I love wearing stuff like that
I think the reason pieces trend is because they are an easy way to look stylish if you don’t really know how to style things. They usually are an interesting piece that can really only go with basics but appear to be very thought out. I hope that makes sense
25:33 LOVE the poncho outfit on you with the jean skirt & brown boots. I would totally wear that. And I thought it was perfect for you, color & tone-wise.
You don't have to wear the coveralls buttoned all the way up just unbutton it a bit and put a cute baby tee under it. A lot of these trends have variations so if you like it just find the version that works for you.
😎Living in LA, I would definitely buy a lighter weight cotton boiler suit〰️as opposed to a thicker fabric that leans closer to the denim family🥵. Personally prefer ¹slouchy & relaxed (vs fitted &/or supersized); ²to avoid fixed elastic at the waist & instead belt it for the best fit; & lastly, ³add a body-con ribbed razorback tank. That way you can leave several buttons open on top for interest. 😬Plus, I would not want to be left in only my bra when using the 🚽facilities. 😉If I wore a white tank, I would cuff the legs & wear naked socks w/white leather sneakers. If I wore a black tank, I would probably leave them straight w/my black combat boots. 🪖Loved the dark camo cargo pants in my favorite color palette. Since the pants had more volume, I would probably match it w/a body conturing black ribbed razorback tank that was fully tucked in, & a sheer black button up shirt open over it as a light shacket. Wear black ballet flats in the heat, or black socks & combat boots if it is cool out. The gray barrel jeans were quite cute. 🤩Loved Alexa's feminine grunge look, but as an hourglass⏳️figure I would 💯% skip this silhouette. Don't like to wear anything that highlights my width↔️. (That's also why I skip skinny jeans.) Relaxed leg w/a straight cut is more flattering on my frame. The ▪️b&w▫️ checkered retro clam diggers were quite 🆒️〰️esp. w/the cropped black tee. Alexa has such a slim, straight little figure. She totally rocked that slim-on-slim outfit proportion. FYI RE Capri pants: They are 🇮🇹Italian from the Amalfi Coast🏖. They are a lightweight, loose, soft straight trouser that's cropped✂️ between the bottom of your calf to top of your ankle. They were purposely designed for comfort in ☀️hot temps & to show off the custom leather sandals that the area is known for. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
i was gagged when u pulled out the barrel jeans bc i have the same pair that i wear almost every day 😭 they r soooi comfy and after awhile they look like a normal proportional !!
The heat is definitely a big part of the problem with the coveralls. The color is good with your complexion and the cut fits your body really well. I live where it's much cooler and I see people wear them with a jacket, a scarf and a bag as a comfy running-errands-all-day outfit, but at 85 degrees that'd be just asking for heat stroke. Also I laughed when you said you're not going to move your cat because you're not the Devil. My dad is the same way with his cat. He once stood there working at his desk for an hour because he refused to move the cat off of his office chair. There's just something about the sight of a comfy kitty that makes people's brains go, "well, that's their spot now, not mine."
Besides the voluminous silhouette of the jeans all of your items that are out of your comfort zone are super utilitarian and it makes sense if you do not need those items. A work coverall, soccer jersey, poncho…
You could jazz the coveralls with some pins/badges on the pockets, maybe a chain style belt? I feel like "styling" usually involves more accessories...lol, but not everyone is into a lot of accessories. I think you gave them all a good try, but sometimes something just isn't your style, and that's ok! ETA: I think the biker jacket actually looks rad with the jersey and skirt combo! xD
Alexa, you deserved those compliments as you looked stunning even though you felt anxious. My personal favourites were the coveralls and that poncho with your denim skirt and boots. I love my clothes, and I have a huge wardrobe like you, but you know when you have hit the mark when you receive those unexpected remarks. Such a boost. I also think it has to suit the wearer not the starer, but you could be due a change of style and it is fun to branch out and try something different. You never know unless you try so you did exactly that. it is all about experimenting.
the stress/nerves of the tattoo probably triggered your period, i always get spotting when i fly bc of travel anxiety lol. i rly liked the poncho outfit!
I think people tend to compliment things that are out of the ordinary as a way to say, "I approve of your unusual choices". Most of these items were unusual in some way so I'm not too surprised you get a lot of compliments!
I really like this concept of trying out things that are out of your comfort zone! For outfit ideas especially w new items I really recommend trying the app whering, they have that cool feature from Clueless where you can randomize your clothes like they're in a circular rack and come up with totally new combos. I've played around with it for three months now, and honestly I have so many cool new combos to try that I don't ever even get outfit stress anymore which is so amazing! It's also teaching me so much about why certain things work better as an idea then in reality on my body and has already made me a smarter shopper in general, because I know exactly what I already have enough of and I know more specifically what I need&want in the clothes I buy next.
Coveralls are actually super fun to accessorize but not in a typical way! I love wearing mine with martens style boots, bandana in my hair or at the belt loop and since they are usually plain it's really fun to add enamel pins or patches to them!
I haven't worn a poncho since grade school (and I'm 60 now) but I recently thrifted a 100% cashmere poncho in grey and black and I think I will totally wear it when it gets colder. I'm only worried about like layering it with a raincoat or something over it, like how will my arms go into the sleeves. I think it would be great for an airplane outfit because it doubles as a blanket.
I love this video format! The thoughr process, the styling, the clips taken during the day and testing the outfit durung different activities, it gives a lot of dynamic🤩 also, how lovely you'll be visiting the Netherlands!! Really curious to hear where you'll go when the time comes around, living here my favourite cities are definitely Utrecht and Haarlem!❤
I love this video concept! Last winter I wanted coveralls SO BAD bc i thought they looked so cool but couldnt justify the $100+ price tag. We’ll see how i feel when this winter rolls around lol
Loved the barrel jeans, I think I might want to try them but the poncho stood out to me. It seems like an item that would incorporate well into your wardrobe. The pattern looked so cute on you but maybe try a solid color one. A red knit poncho would be cool with a white dress underneath.
First of all, you are not annoying! Second, this was a very interesting video and I enjoyed the vlog style :) Third, I think that the camo pants looked really good with the baby tee you started with :D
Love the barrel jeans! They look so good on you. I love camo cargo pants. I’m 54 and still wear them. I own a lot of camo cargo pants and I don’t think those camo pants were that nice. There are washed out camo patterns that you might look better. Plus the pants looked really thin. I wear my heavier camo pants with platform court shoes and a tank top under a thin sweatshirt that has a very wide neck opening. Almost off the shoulder It’s a very casual look but it’s a cool, 90s outfit. Top it off with a relaxed fit trucker jacket and it’s 90s perfection.
Lol... "The Big Bad Wolf Poncho" 😂. . And that Music when u were at the car wash reminded me of a Charlie's Angels Episode! Great Video u can tell u were out of yer comfort zone but shows yer willing to try different things 👏. Big Cheers for Alexa !!
These outfits were actually really cute on youuuu. I feel like with the barrel jeans might be made for shorter people Like the concept seem Like they’re supposed to sit at ankle length which make them an awkward pant for some people (if that makes sense lol) but anywayss u seem so sweet and I love ur style 🙂🫶🏾
One thing with coveralls for me, I need something that gives shape, so sinched in waist but flared bottoms. The belts do help then too as it makes an almost 70s silhouette 😊 Also what are the brand of camo trousers as I love them 😂
Maybe the secret to make the barrel leg trend wearable is to chose a pair that's not extreme? I have a pair from Everlane that's just slightly barrel shape and it goes with everything! Edit: That poncho is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen on you 😍
Great video, I think you've pulled off every outfit! (except for the capris, I think the whole world should close the door on capris 🤣) My favorite fit was the barrel jeans!!
Thanks for the video! The coveralls were really cute and i appreciate your effort in trying uncomfortable things, i believe it can help with understanding what actually makes sense for you ❤ Sorry about the strugle tho haha Edit: i also want to say that while appreciated, you don't need to force yourself just to satisfy viewers or anything like that, your content is great because its sincere - just a lil reminder
Great idea! I really enjoyed watching this. I liked the coveralls and think you could do more with them if it had been cooler. I really don't like the look of barrel jeans on anyone. I don't like the camo cargos either - too loose or something. I like capris, but I always wear them with sandals. And I love that you won't move the cat!
I think barrel jeans were not the correct fit for your height, body figure etc. In my understanding of the “it” fit they should be definitely longer, narrower, closer to hips and then balloon out from lower point on the leg. So, this might not be the overall item personal appeal problem but difficulty in finding the correct model of the item. Interesting if a different fit of the same item would make a difference. Great video idea and exercise. Provokes a lot of thinking how one thing can throw you completely off even if you like the concept or the other way around. Totally relate to the comfort zone aspect of clothes.
I donated a few jerseys I had from walking some 5Ks with my company. Since I am retired now for a few years, I figured probably never wear them again. I did keep a couple though. I just received a “wide cuffed jean pants with just a bit of distressing” on the front pockets and intend to wear them today. When I tried them on I wasn’t sure if it was “me” but will wear them out of the house and see if I like them more. Just last night I was looking at jean skirts, as I bought some brown knee high boots and that it was a good time to get one for this weather. Most have a long slit in the front, so I’m skipping those. Yours is really cute on you, but for my age, 66, I don’t want it to look like “little house on the prairie.” I’ll keep looking. Maybe I’ll find one at a thrift store and if I decide I don’t like the look after all, donate it.

I totally agree. Sometimes it's fun to change oneself creatively, but there's nothing wrong with sticking to what you know and like.
Agreed! It’s a great video concept, but probably not something I’d do in real life.
Tnat doesn't sound stupid at all! ❤
Sameeee😢
The poncho fit is 10/10!!! Love the 70s look!!!
They would look better without the elastic in the waist.
I love them too! I always like wearing my hair up messy with some strands down, and chunky gold earrings when I wear mine.
Also I think with these brown ones I’d probably role up the sleeves once or twice. Maybe a chunky boot?! 🙌🏻
If you layer on top its even more of a hassle to go to the loo.
we need more of this!! but do mycustomgifts colab or something as i want jewelry 🤣❤
Plot twist, everyone else in the cafe wearing cargo pants was also dressing out of their comfort zone and thought they were cute for your style
I think we can all agree that the best outfit of this entire video was the giant Twilight tshirt/Halloween pj pants/purple croc combo 👌🏻
Alexa you NEED to get a poncho like that one. It's genuinely one of my favorite outfits I've seen you in, it just suits you so well especially that tone of yellow! I've never wanted to reach through the screen and have an outfit more
Also I feel like you would enjoy mid calf denim capris more than patterned ones. They look so good with platform sandals and riding boots
Same girl, same!!!!!! And if you could reach through the screen and grab it, I would then grab it out of your hands lol
The jumpsuit looks so good with the belt!! What are you even thinking haha, you looked beautiful in it ❤
I love the barrel jeans with the striped tee. And it would look lovely with kitten heels. And the poncho is chef's kiss. I see it more like boho style, not cowboy. I'm glad you didn't change your boots.
The poncho outfit was so cute on you
I liked all the outfits in this video! I think you did a great job integrating the pieces in your wardrobe.
Alexa you literally looked so cool in all of these. But the poncho fit was my fave! Super cute!
Your personality is like a ray of sunshine plus your such a natural at it. ❤
Why wait?
The way the poncho is literally my exact style.
I love cargo pants and barrel jeans and i loved how you styled them!! But your style is so cute and individual to you!!
Absolutely love the poncho with the jean skirt and boots ❤
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience wearing these unfamiliar items! This was definitely a good reminder to always consider the functionality of an item and the way it will interact with clothes you’d wear it with, and to go into a store to try on a new silhouettes (or borrow from friends/family).

I think the fabric, bold color combo, and cinched ankles made them look like a costume and really threw them into the “parachute pant” category lol 😅
That crocheted poncho and denim skirt outfit is EVERYTHING
Also I'm such a fan of
barrel jeans they make me feel like a classy clown
I love them too!
I really like the cargo pants outfit!! I love the juxtaposition of the more masculine pants with the hyper-feminine top!! I love wearing stuff like that

Woah that's so true!
25:33 LOVE the poncho outfit on you with the jean skirt & brown boots. I would totally wear that. And I thought it was perfect for you, color & tone-wise.
I loved the blue skirt with the poncho! 💛

I love your jean maxi skirt!!
You look great in EVERYTHING because you know how to style!!! I love watching you do your thing! 🤩🤩
i was gagged when u pulled out the barrel jeans bc i have the same pair that i wear almost every day 😭 they r soooi comfy and after awhile they look like a normal proportional !!
I love the barrel Jean fit on you! It looked so edgy the way you styled it. ❤
coveralls + a little scarf and a top-knot would look super cute! kinda workwear vibes

I think a basic coverall color like black or cream would be so cute you could tie a scarf on the beltloop for the hotter seasons !!
Oooo the excitement I get when I see an Alexa video that’s over 30 minutes long 🫢💃🏻
Besides the voluminous silhouette of the jeans all of your items that are out of your comfort zone are super utilitarian and it makes sense if you do not need those items. A work coverall, soccer jersey, poncho…
The poncho outfit was super cute!!
This was such a fun video to watch! And really appreciate that you rented rather than buying ❤❤
The poncho outfit was soooo good! 😍

The poncho outfit was too good
I think people tend to compliment things that are out of the ordinary as a way to say, "I approve of your unusual choices". Most of these items were unusual in some way so I'm not too surprised you get a lot of compliments!
this! 💯

I love this video concept! Last winter I wanted coveralls SO BAD bc i thought they looked so cool but couldnt justify the $100+ price tag. We’ll see how i feel when this winter rolls around lol
I looooove Barrel jeans, but I think they look better when the legs are a bit longer, and not so cropped. This was fun!! 🌻🌻🌻
I really liked coveralls and the pocho on you! ✨
13:08 camo cargos are like my favorite thing ever so it’s really cool to see you style them! :P
the poncho outfit was so cute, i love the skirt
AHAHAHHAHAH I need that rainbow sweater!!
it's the comfort level of barrel jeans that sold me. You look cute in them.
LOVE the barrel jeans!! And they looked great on you, too.
Loved the poncho!
Loved the barrel jeans, I think I might want to try them but the poncho stood out to me. It seems like an item that would incorporate well into your wardrobe. The pattern looked so cute on you but maybe try a solid color one. A red knit poncho would be cool with a white dress underneath.
Loved this video! What a great use of a clothing rental service too. Would love a part 2 someday!
You look SO stunning in every outfit wth 😭 this is super inspiring, now I want to step out of my comfort zone! I dunno what I’m missing on now :0!!
Alexa, seriously you showed me Indyx and it is changing the way I see my wardrobe. I'm about to hire a Stylist and I can't wait!
Loved this video!!!
You could wear a wide elastic belt that connects your waist with the overall's waist.
The poncho look is sooooo cute!!
I wear my cover alls w them half on. I wear them as pants w a tee and leave the top half around waist
This video was so fun! Loved it! I love the 1st outfit on you!
Such an interesting idea for a video! I did like the jeans on you even though I hate them lol
I have fallen in love with cargopants, but not the camouflage type... I think mine are in thick cotton, so no noise!
The poncho outfit!!!!!!!!!🤩😍🌟
Lol... "The Big Bad Wolf Poncho" 😂. . And that Music when u were at the car wash reminded me of a Charlie's Angels Episode! Great Video u can tell u were out of yer comfort zone but shows yer willing to try different things 👏. Big Cheers for Alexa !!
I loved this video! It was interesting trying different things ofc but also we had a small vlog of your days!! :)
i think the barrel jeans look absurdly good on you!!!
The belts do help then too as it makes an almost 70s silhouette 😊
Also what are the brand of camo trousers as I love them 😂
Maybe the secret to make the barrel leg trend wearable is to chose a pair that's not extreme? I have a pair from Everlane that's just slightly barrel shape and it goes with everything!
Edit: That poncho is possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen on you 😍
I really like the cargo pants
the coveralls would look lovely with cute pointe ballet flats (no socks) and a statement necklace
Great video, I think you've pulled off every outfit! (except for the capris, I think the whole world should close the door on capris 🤣) My favorite fit was the barrel jeans!!
The jersey with denim Jorts or shorts with a belt and the sneakers or loafers would be cute
I loved all the outfits!
Thanks for the video!
The coveralls were really cute and i appreciate your effort in trying uncomfortable things, i believe it can help with understanding what actually makes sense for you ❤
Sorry about the strugle tho haha
Edit: i also want to say that while appreciated, you don't need to force yourself just to satisfy viewers or anything like that, your content is great because its sincere - just a lil reminder
I absolutely adore coveralls and jumpsuits in general but I’ve until recently been very uncomfortable in overalls!
Day 5 is cute!
Alter/flip the jumpsuit into a two piece set!
MY FAV VIDEO OF YOURS! LOVE
