@NowThisEarth
Netflix "My Teacher Octopus" changed my life. I do not eat them anymore. I feel ashamed I ever did so...
literally same!
ANY animal, or it should be done humane, not like this, we must stop eating them
@CristinaF210 either way we are omnivore no offence but that how we are made we are not herbivores
@@archydragon5213 Omnivore means you can eat both. It doesn't mean you HAVE to eat both ;)
I want to know if they’re actually raising the octopuses from eggs because I took a tour of an octopus farm research lab on the big island of Hawaii and they claimed nobody in the world knows how to feed octopuses correctly from infancy because their diet is so complex. At a certain stage of development all the babies die
From juvenile octopuses I guess.
@@braunesia meaning, you dont know...
Such amazing creatures
I am 90% vegetarian and have decided to not eat octopus or squid anymore. I eat some wild fish ie not farmed. I agree that the less meat humans eat the better off the planet will be and the issue of cruelty to animals should be taken seriously.
I respect your right to hold that opinion...however its clear that it is far from logical...unfortunately the reality is that soy protein does not provide even a fraction of the micro-nutrients that meat does..its why all the Afrikaans ppl where i live are 6ft8...its cause they eat insane amounts of meat(along with genetics ofc) but the diet sustains their bodily growth...although it is also known that the stress and lifestyle an animal lives through..does effect the meat quality...so I would say giving them an enjoyable life and healthy life until their end..is certainly beneficial for both them and us....but not eating meat is beyond infantile logic...with all due respect..my mother was vegetarian for a while...until she got very sick...i spoke some sense into her and now she eats healthy meat from the local butchery...and drinks milk etc from the local farms...one can eat meat and not be cruel....mass pig farming in china etc in complex like structures with no light is obviously appalling.
I can't deny I love calamari, but I can't justify the killing of octopus anymore, wild or farmed.
calamari is squid
@@williamhiggins8906 I don’t blame them, I’ve seen octopus labelled as calamari before. 🤷♀ Don’t get me started on prawns either. 🤦♀
Oh my sweet Jesus 😢 that's inhumane, cruel, horrific, and just absolutely wrong on each and every level....tf is wrong with these peoples....
the same as is wrong with every type of mass animal farming.
If you feel this way about octopus then you should stop eating all meat
But beef and chicken are fine lol
@Emilianfit no cows and chickens are treated just as inhumane and horrific.
How can we stop this????
The more we know .. thank you for shedding light.
Whats with alla the activism now a days its an octopus. I hope you know there are people in your country right now that are starving and your here talking bout "save the octopus" bro save us
That's right. They are all just vegan hypocrites... "Don't kill animals. Kill plants. Some lives are less worth than others. Plants don't have eyes and they can't express themselves."
Can people not spread awareness about an issue they are passionate about? Do we have to dictate people on what they must switch their activism for? What is your problem with people speaking about unethical practices such as this?
Eat plants! Love animals! Thank you! 🙏🌱🌍
Yeah... plants don't have feelings and don't deserve to live. Just kill plants because animals have eyes.
You say that but what about cows, pigs , chickens, etc?
Tbh it's not that bad compared to these
Or could we create stem cell Octopus meat. But not by method farming where will not affect the living of Octopus.
Doesn't seem that bad compared to how we treat other farm animals like chickens or pigs.
The difference is, chickens or pigs are not sentient like octopus. Eating octopus is like eating dogs.
@@christycolman6075 Wrong. Pigs are sentient. They're as smart as dogs are if not smarter
But if people eat lots of octopus from the wild wouldn't it be more dangerous?
Absolutely cruel, moreover other animal farming methods
So disturbing and quite frankly, disappointing! This should never come to fruition. :-/
They'll be extinct then
We already got many animals farm don't see why this a problem
I don't think it's great, but is there something about octopuses that makes them more important to save from this on the basis of intelligence than pretty much all the other sentient animals we eat? Cows, lambs, chickens, pigs, goats etc? Perhaps there are better ways to farm them, you have to go by steps, to get the system to change.
Nobody cares. It's food, that is it. Hunt it or grow it, still dies. And we still eat.
So overfish them in the ocean got it.
It has to be a vegan
You know what plants cause more harm than meat😅
Lets stop eating squidward already
Stop eating animals
No ❤❤❤❤
