      @@Azahoward25 I'm in the same ballpark as you. I started on Black Ops and MW2 but I can easily say that 2019 and MWII are my favorite CODs so far. I love the additional movement mechanics and gunsmith system. I never liked the old perks or weapons in classic MW2. Black Ops was only _slightly_ better. Ghosts has the best perk system and there is some merit with Black Ops II's pick-ten system, but the movement and gunplay in MW2019 and MWII are definitely a step up in quality over older games.
      Don't even get me started on how stupidly OP perks like Stopping Power and Ninja were or how the Intervention in MW2 and ACR in MW3 were the only sniper and assault rifle everyone used. So bland and boring

It felt like a natural progression to where the early Golden era CoDs were headed. Plus they just bring some really interesting guns to the table you'd never see in the "traditional" CoDs, like the Oden, MG34, the full auto Deagle etc.

    It's so moronic - being aggressive is by far, THE most successful way to play MW2, MW2019 - EVERY CoD game. I really hate the people who are wanting CoD to play like Quake fucking arena... bunny hopping, slide cancelling, sidestepping as if you have NO mass. It just looks SO bad.

    • @shadowtitan8545
      @shadowtitan8545 Год назад

      Mw19s "aggression" is very far an in between the aggression from mw3. For example stalker pro made you be able to viably push a corner with just strafe speed alone. Mw19 the viable method was shitty ass slide canceling. The movement speeds were nerfed so that in theory you could obtain mw3 speeds from the gunsmith (even with the gunsmith the guns were still not as fast without some trade offs of course for balance) Plus the difference in game design like in mw19 the mini map not having red dots making the pace a little slower. I'm not saying older cods were perfect at all I ofc pick and choose what gameplay mechanic or design I think is "good" but the games as a whole are entirely different most of the time.

      Example. Let's take a step back to 2017. The cod community is sick of exo cod games. They want boots on the ground back and they would like another ww2 game. They give us another ww2 game, and the community hates it. Another example, the community hates supply drops, the mw2019 gives us the battlepass system and the store system, bow I have seen people asking for supply drops back. You just can't satisfy this community. And what I have seen throughout the cod community, the reaction to nerfing slide canceling is mostly positive

    • @shadowtitan8545
      @shadowtitan8545 Год назад

      @@itsmepoised I don't like slide canceling but it's not what I was talking about. Sliding as a WHOLE got nerfed to the ground. It doesn't even need to exist as a movement mechanic because it has no benefits. The reason most people hated WW2 in the beginning was the executive devs were terrible and left the company the game was trying to be 'realistic" and had unnecessary additions like the division system that got overhauled because nobody liked it. The realism ruined the art design a lot as Chrome camo was not even worth any of the grind it was boring, dull, and looked like shit if you didn't have a heroic variant from supply drops. There is no winning for the cod community but there are objective reasons why WW2 was hated and underperformed. I remember back then I wanted boots on the ground not a wannabe ww2 sim.

    2007 - 2014 (Cod4 to Black Ops 2 ) are highly considered the "Golden Era" of cod. These game's mechanics are sometimes referred to as "traditional" because these 6 games set many of the standards for the series going forward. Sliding is still useless, sprint-out times are even slower, and the movement at it's core just feels more sluggish in MWII, which boggles my mind because they added new movement mechanics that improved upon MW19's movement, such as the return of dolphin diving, hanging onto ledges, and the increased mantling distance.

    Classic IW's map design is the closest thing that I'd say is the traditional map design in Cod. Cod 1, 2, and the original Modern Warfare trilogy had that distinct map design based off of variety and setpieces. Even Treyarch's map design deviated from IW's by basing their maps on a strict three lane rule which I personally feel much harder in the classic Treyarch maps then classic IW maps.

      Eh, MW3 was pretty far removed from IW's earlier maps. It wasn't quite as cookie cutter as BO2, but they normally went for a 3X3 approach (3 major lanes and 3 cross lanes). DLC maps were amazing though, but you had to be one of those people who would fork up the cash... Ghosts felt very much like older IW titles but people moaned about it because they were "too big". 3arc is kinda weird though, WaW felt right at home with IW's maps, but then BO1 felt very empty, interesting layouts but mostly empty rooms and corridors... and then BO2 was just straight up 3 lane everything and spawn trapping hell... If you played one map, your pretty much played them all. Took all of a match to learn them.

    “traditional” for call of duty is used highly, because the formula for the original games was either never touched or shifted in a direction where the community would show backlash. things like dots on the minimap, 3 lane maps, original (and balanced) perk system, weapons that defined certain playstyles and were tuned to accommodate its usefulness, and killstreaks that were used to fulfill that playstyle. in my opinion, the “pick 10” system and scorestreaks were innovative because you can still define your playstyle and further customize your class to achieve that playstyle you desire while still maintaining fairness in restrictions. in the last maybe 5+ years, call of duty has pushed away this “traditional feel” and further catered to innovation that 1: is not balanced and the games feel sluggish and 2: has severed most potential of the games by protecting and in fact making the games towards newer players to make reasonable income and push forward concepts and ideas that dont make call of duty, “call of duty.”

    6:01 nah make a video instead on how XDefiant shouldn't be praised.
    One way shields? Unbalanced specialists? A certain faction having near instant health regen?
    Don't you feel like the devs (who have a lot of experience with multiplayer shooters) released the beta like that on purpose when they know full well those changes won't be well recieved so they can pretend they're listening buy "fixing" obvious bad design decisions? 😅

      Cod ain't any better. Plus if you don't like specialists then the game is not for you. I hate specialists but the core gameplay is there something modern cod has lost long ago. I agree the specialists do need lot's and lot's of tweaking and balancing but this was more of an alpha than a beta. The game doesn't even have a release date and at least they made a beta and didn't have the game come out less than the month later.

    Saying you’re gonna lose it if you can’t have more attachments than 2 on your gun simply shows how *garbage* the guns in modern COD have become that you need *five* attachments to make a good usable. That’s sad.

    You are wrong in MW2019 point. MW2019 was campy because of power-positions oriented map design with hell of a line of sights & fast TTK. They somewhat fixed maps (exept few horrible mistakes like taraq & lighthouse) in MW2022, but they screwed up the movement... game stays campy, no actual improvement.
    This exact things that frustrates me the most in CoD franchise is that it doesn`t feel like franchise, or at least multiple parallel franchises(BO, MW, whatever) under same name. New games just don`t capitilize over what was good in previous parts, they just "reshake" things & it just feels like it going nowhere, no actual improvements

      Cod 4 had the same philosophy you could just counter them better but cod 4 was campy people tend to forget infinity Ward was always the camper oriented dev team.

    I definitely wouldn’t call BO4 completely traditional, but I absolutely love the gameplay design of it. I don’t think the new CODs are completely traditional either.
