no idea what he's talking about but i like listening to experts talk expertly
+Asif Khan such expert very wow :)
lol
Can I get good bokeh with this one? Is compatible with my T2i? Is good for street photography? The kit comes with this old man too? I mean, I will need him to explain to my family why I sold them to buy this lens.
🤣🤣😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's ideal for street photography. Heck, it's better than their RF 85 1.2 Prime for Portraits!
Lmao "does it come with the old man" i'm dying
I saw one of these lenses being used on a BBC wildlife documentary recently and was curious to find out more. I think I will buy two!!
you have 120,000 dollars? lol
AfterPrisonShow I wish! The zoom range is incredible; one can only dream...
HELL YEAH! I'm shooting in 1280x720 in 30 fps. It makes me drool to see camera's like this. Oh well, mabye one day.
$70,000 x 2 = $140,000
@@AfterPrisonShow Unless you plan shooting subjects i.e animals, people, objects at about 1km distances, you likely will never need this lens.
Rather than just the normal stuff, this gets into the business/compromise/optical limits. Nice to hear an expert talk in precise terms.
Asked my wife for Xmas she said no
to bad :P
impressive lens but holy crap 70,000 dollars. wow...
davidevgen a drop in the bucket for those TV networks
@@neirad537 Exactly! It's cheap for what it does. Canon's Digisuper 122x Box lens is about 4 times the price.
This is the very height of modern lens technology by the looks of things, and once again, Canon is at the front of that. I don't think I've ever seen a lens of THAT focal length in such a small foot print ? I would like to see some serious test of what the lens shoots off of a C 500. The doubler gets it up to 1,500 mm ! Wow !
I don't see the Canon C 500 as low end. Side by side tests show the C 500 image beating the Arri and the F 55
Uhh, no, the Canon C 500 is not a sub 10K camera. It offers 2K RAW 12 bit recording. Full 4K 4096 x 2160 with specs very comparable to the Arri and F55. It's not a DSL like the Canon EOS 1D C. I wouldn't view it as a step down necessarily. Depends what you're shooting of course. A lot of feature film DOP's are choosing to shoot in 2k, but in higher color bit depth at 12 bit, etc.
I never wrote every DOP is an idiot (??) What's your problem mate ? Yeah, it's true ! You can shoot 12 bit with a Canon C 500 ! Go here - www.usa.canon.com/cusa/professional/products/professional_cameras/cinema_eos_cameras/eos_c500#Specifications
It is YOU who seems to think the C 500 is a sub par "Pro-sumer" sub 10 K camera, which it certainly is NOT ! Yes, I've seen several tests of the Arri Alexa along side the C 500 and the F 55 alongside the C 500. It is a draw with the Sony F 55 but a net win over the Arri Alexa.
I wasn't aware the F 55 is 16 Bit in 4K. The tests I saw I couldn't see any real differences, and I'm a 30 year industry shooter. The glass also can make a huge difference, as i'm sure you well know. I found the Arri Alexa a little less in quality to the F 55 and the C 500. To equal the F 55, you have to use the Canon LUT on the C 500 and only certain lenses seem to get you there.
I think with these newer Hybrid Camera Products, like a C 500, the "perception" of them as being a "Prosumer" type, sub 10 K camera (Like the XL H1 was), as somehow beneath consideration because of the "Snob" appeal by some DOP's. Again, like you, my expectations for the C 500 were low, but then I was greatly surprised.
If it is really sharp, using it with a 4k mft camera would make for incredible reach. It should be just about on the border of diffraction.
But...does it row for UC Davis?
A feat in engineering, no doubt. Who dares compete with the technology in this lens?
Me
Just thinking without canon making this beast we wouldn't get all those great wildlife documentaries, crudos to canon.
And people will use this lens for a longtime..
I can get the similar results as this lens with my modified Sky-Watcher f8 1000mm telescope.
Can I take selfies with this?
Commanding trough a phone 😅
man this guy good......thuglife
I just brought this
According to Google, that is $70,200
How can a lens be 4K ? I thought all new EF lenses where capable of capturing 20mp? Even old Canon EF lenses from 1987-95 they were capable of 6+ megasensles on a film or digital camera .
+Allan Zepeda Hi Allan. There's a video in our Digital Learning Center that explains it best. Check it out at bit.ly/254hwog Hope this helps!
+CanonUSA Thank you.!
+Allan Zepeda It's a marketing gimmick.
Interesting question and it all goes back to the physics of light as it lasses through the optics!
Incredible piece of equipment, too bad it costs the price of a house and weights near the limit of air companies allows it. It really is only for big cinematography productions.
this thing is 175k on Amazon
Comprei uma.
I don’t think so it’s 70k US dollars
If it costs $100, I'll take two.
i will take 1....and one pro camera
edsonguerreiro BAHIA
So with this I can see folks in church at 600ft away in 8K per person and if they have taken the wine on their lips. Not bad.
well thats a lens :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
