This is highly likely going to be hong Lu's theme since at no part of ender lilies did i hear this melody-
I'm betting Xiachun is dying in his canto. And when it happens, we'll get flashback to their relationship of truces over grandma's snacks and talking about attempted assasinations. Then we cut back to the present to see Hong Lu crying despite saying he wouldn't feel anything upon her death.
xiachun is probably gonna die or even be used against the sinners since hong lu and his family 100% mirror dream of a black swan (you can literally see part of its abno fight background for LoR in hong lu's background) and the abno story of that has the sister of the family succumbing to the fog

The bells playing also sound like chains, shackles even, the song is somber and the sounds reminiscent to that of being a prisoner, that or the one carrying a burden, a heavy burden, Hong Lu might carry the biggest if not THE largest amount of emotional and mental baggage out of the entire Limbus Crew.
My bets are still on Ryoshu being the most tragic Sinner, with her current behavior being a sort of repression like Don Quixote's valiant fixer attitude

@gundir7504 Ryoshu is very honest really, like the 30 years old adults in the bus and more(like Rodya and greg, Outis is truly criptic), She looks more like running from his past or probably looking for hunt the fingers of the backstreets (his ego give a hint, her canto Will probably about all this, maybe revenge, maybe she can be a Ring or other fingers desertor if you judge the burden and consecuences of leave the fingers like Queequeg)
the story seems to go in a generally ascending order of PTSD, so i'd expect that honglu is far from the worst, but topping Quixote is already disturbing.

after doing a bit of research, the novel hong lu is based on seems to be about a sentient piece of jade asking to experience the mortal world, and being given a human form to explore the world. hong lu has been on a long journey of his own, eventually tagging along with limbus company. such a big journey would mean he learned something and changed as a person, right ? however, hong lu doesn't seem to have changed at all during the time of his journey. what if the crux of this canto was that hong lu realized that his entire journey was wasted because he didn't take time to earn lessons and change his way to interact with the world around him ? it would go along with the name of his canto : "The Surrendered Witnessing". that can go either two ways : either hong lu comes to terms with the futility of wanting to explore the world, or he actually gets executed-
That somehow, a lot similar to
"the stranger" in some ways.

Judging from the fact that all sinners joined Limbus for a reason, I suppose that Honglou (if this is the Buddhist reading) joined only because it's something he can do, since the Buddhist reading of Hongloumeng would have you interpret Baoyu (Honglu) as already detached from all things and are just going with the flow of karma, or if you read it with a Daoist len, he is holding onto the pain and sadness and heartbreaks of the world even when he's fully convinced it is all for naught (irrelevant whether this is true or not)
i feel like hes already "surrendered" since hes extremely detached from the world, he thinks its futile, the vibe he gave off is like a suicidal dude who doesnt give two shits because hes gonna blow his brains out tomorrow.
But by "witnessing" i think it means he's either going to see the world as it is and realize the hope ayin's been scheming about OR witness the absolute fucking dystopia the city is and fall into despair/gloom even more and join gregor and rodions shtick of unfinished cantos

The original Dante's Inferno has 100 cantos (being a simbolic number, unlikely to be shortened or extended), so it isn't like they don't have space to work with, as I recall being stated in no moment that the characters should only get 1 canto for their books

WE GETTING DEPRESSION WITH THIS ONE
Every sinner starting from Yi Sang so far uses a base EGO at the end of the fight. Since Hong Lu's is one of two targeting multiple units it makes me wonder if the final boss will appear as several enemies instead of one.
.....maybe.....an entire "family" of enemies perhaps?
I have a certain theory that might or might NOT be true.
Hong Lu's ego is called "Land of Illusions". Wouldn't it be fitting if he uses his ego to pour rain upon "illusions" of his family members, signifying the fact that he is letting them go and severing his connection to them to pursue his own life.
I'll just leave that here to see what the ego scene will look like when Canto finally drops.

Okay how many cantos actually even ended on a depressing note. Canto 1 and 6. The other 5 had depressing moments but we made it out better than we went in.
I gave up playing limbus a while ago because of the power spikes you got to climb, but I can’t wait to spend 4-6 hours of my day watching a full play through of Canto 8. Hong Lu is my favorite sinner and I’d love to see how Limbus interprets his extremely long novella’s plot into gameplay

this is just as obvious though, it fits the gloomy vibe (hong lu's EGO costs 5 gloom), has chinese strings (i think?, which are also associated with him) and has the 🔔tolling, which seems to play a huge role in hong lu's story (look closely at his EGO art, there's a huge bell's shadow)
but it's gonna be really unfortunate if this isn't for canto 8, this sounds fantastic even without the lyrics and i cant imagine what'd it feel like during the moment

I loved the part where zombie distortion of jia xichun appeared and went "I'm sorry brother i have to do this..." and fired a massive death laser into Hong Lu then he went "No Jia Xichun i still have my FAMILY" then the rest of his family appeared to stop the death laser but then zombie evil distortion Jia Xichun made it stronger then Hong Lu went "i still have my friends in limbus company, they all believe in us" then they believed and parried the death laser and they all went "I will Never Surrender My Witnessing" and hong lu's jade eye became gold and he sings his sarajinae. Also the part where Hong lu stopped smiling and then said to his older brother "This is our Limbus Company...!" Is so peak, truly made me tear up.

I wouldn't be surprised if its an ender magnolia song, that clinking instrument feels more appropriate for a more ambiental song, like what ender lilies/magnolia has for most of its soundtrack. In Dream of the Red Chamber is a satirical and tragic story about the mandarin class that exploited and trampled on the people. From the beginning, I knew this was definitely not a Canto filled with happiness and "World Of Wonder"

The city is basically the opposite to this conceptual “world”, it may at times hold a spark of wonder within in itself, but these small glimmers will revert back to the horror of the city’s foundation.

I don't know after knowing Mili and hearing Hero, Compass and fly my wings. I just somehow have a feeling it won't have any chinese instrument or chinese vibe in the song.
EIM might be working with those but Mili always seem to be the one to contrast the mood for the finale fight.

nah thats not it, too early. kasai starts uploading his limbus song progress 1-2 months before the new season starts, we have two examples of this with through patches of violet and hero so we can say that is the pattern now. theres still like 5 months for honglu chapter. this is most likely ender magnolia, its just similar sounding to his cantos possible theme
Original plan was 4 months per canto. 6 months is just the thing PM does these days because they lack of contents. But for music producers like Mili, 2 months after the current Canto to collect feedback and create new song is plausible.

I don’t think it’s ender Magnolia (unless this is a re-recording of a song because the game comes out in January) BUT this could be for another game
Mili makes music for other gatchas (promise of wizard I know of both I feel like they’re getting more commissions)
But I kinda have a hunch it could be for DEEMO 2 as they’re now on better terms with Rayark (see the Muse Dash collab using gunners in the rain as the MAIN song)
And DEEMO was were they started getting fans (myself included) and it’s been a year since gunners in the rain (see Rayark using AI and AWAAWA releasing what robots need)
I think Mili only made like very little, few songs for Deemo, and none for their other games. But Rayark did quit including AI generated content so perhaps their relations did improve? This could be anything tho (lol)
A part of me is hoping it's an Arcaea original but that's probably unlikely ever gonna happen

As for the AI thing, it seems like they’ve wiped the whole concept but you never know, especially since a lot of their old composers haven’t come back and left around the time DEEMO 2 would of started development (VK, M2U, ICE had a very messy controversy etc) and the only composer that’s worked with Rayark before that’s still on with DEEMO 2 was Apollo program.
IDK, there seems to be some healing going on between the old composers, who knows what goes on.
And by only composer I mean one where the community knew them before and kinda took a similar responsibly to how KIVA was with Cytus 2 with composing the main theme and important story songs as Rayark trusted them

@@pankotheseaweed Mili worked on tracks from both series, I wouldn't be surprised if they reused samples and leitmotifs from the other games. One small bit of Hero had the same note progression as the pre-release miniboss theme from Ender Magnolia (saying pre-release sepcifically since I'm unsure if it changed after release, can't afford the game yet).
This is not for Limbus because ain't no way it's released so early (it's usually around 1 month before the Canto update, akin to the three previous Musics)
The bell looks very similar to Hong Lu's base EGO's silhouette
And don’s has a skeleton horse so unless that’s Rociante or something idk
