The only problem with the blog era was everybody was trying to get signed to a major. With exception of guys like Curren$y. They would've done just fine otherwise.
I still play 'Mania' "Don't Mention It" and " Church League Champions" in my car until this day. And "Rollin" is a classic driving through the city song for me. While I hate they didn't get the money they deserved off the product they were putting out for free, I still appreciate their music to this day.
Everytime Pac Div comes up on shuffle i think of where they are. I know Like is producing but the others too. Man, after they dropped "Antifreeze" i was like this is it, they gonna finally get the recognition they deserve. I remember Pharrell said he loved their work back in 2011/12
Oh woooooow! I totally forgot of these guys. Takes me back to my early 20s. The late '00s-early 10s was an interesting time for hip hop. So much variety back then.
My favorite group in High School man. They’re fr the realest representation of the non thug growing up in LA. Shamefully slept on but they still shine to those who are tapped in!
I remember getting a free ticket to a Pac Div after going to a Masta Ace concert in Ottawa Canada (my hometown) the venue was giving it out to the fans. Met them at their show and they seemed like solid people.
How you gonna tell me that I aint been workin I got dirt on my collar and my lower back hurtin I might need a surgeon 3 overtimes and I ain't been paid a dime this must be the grind This was my life when this came out
I’m not sure how many other people requested this one but I’ve been asking for this one for a minute. Waves at the Prom and Don’t forget the swishers were my shit. Thank you JC, I always love your perspective and storytelling ability. Salute 🫡
Man it was a point in time when these guys were dropping music consistently. Every time I looked 'em up on YT, they had a new project out. And then in 2013/'14 it stopped. My mp3 and cell phone was full with music from K. Dot (Kendrick), Lupe and Pac Div. I also had music from Lil' Wayne and The Game, but those was on burned CDs.
I agree whiplash was there best song. But that mania mixtape with don cannon was 🔥. I wish that was on Spotify. How about Don cannon for a next video? He was very important in the blogger mixtape era.
Great video. Yet another hidden gem of the late 2000s to early 2010s. I would love to see a video for Shyheim. He was one of the few Wu-affiliated rappers that had the potential to really pop if not for his legal issues. Also, Inspectah Deck and Consequence.
Sealed For Freshness will always be my favorite Pacific Division project. When everything changed, the name, management, and mindsets! It was HARD for me to stay with them, but I still play Posted like it just came out, I still play Anti Freeze like it just came out. THE ORIGINAL version of Gorgeous will always be my favorite song by them, but Act Like Ya Chillin has a special place! I remember the live shows, and they would give girls sneakers! Take me back!!!!
pac div was dope as fuck... i'm a east coast head but i like authentic hiphop and when i heard the bars they were spittin even all the way out there in Palmdale that shit caught my attention. They should have went further smh.
They had some JAM JAMS…I discovered them on MTV Jams with their song “Fat Boys” they sounded like updated version of West Coast boom bap/90s rap. Similar to The Cool Kids, with their own style n sound.
Discovered these guys in XXL magazine, they were my favorite group for a few years. Church League Champions was my favorite project from them, with Mania being a close second. I wasn't too crazy about The Div and GMB studio albums, to me they just didn't quite hit the mark like the aforementioned projects, but after watching this video I'll probably revisit them and give them another shot.
PAC Div was Dope !! My favorite was the trk PAC Div , an mayor !! Damn !! Wip ⚠️ was crazy !! I’m going to push this E class until it runs out class !! Dope !!
I contend that had they not dropped the free incredible music that they did at the time, it would have been lost to time and red tape. Either way, I still bump everything from them along with all other classic music
I requested a Pac Div video like a week ago. Didn't know you had already done one. Pac Div was that shit! All that free material they were releasing was fire. They never disappointed IMO. Don't Mention It or CLC were probably my favorites. I swore them and the Cool Kids were going to blow up. Only thing I have bad to say about Pac Div is, I bought 2 shirts from the website they had at the time and never got them. After a few weeks I hit up customer service and got no info. Complained to my bank that I got, got and they said I took too long to file a complaint. I was out like $70. 🤬
Damn..I didn’t even know they were signed to Universal Motown at that time lol. Loved these guys though When Mania dropped I just KNEW they were gonna blow! Didn’t happen though Loved 1st Baptist too. They still have it but I guess it just didn’t pan out for them to be stars
@@Kev_-qm1je IamSu would be a good stunted growth! He's still making music but he had a wave that fell off after he dropped his debut album. Make it happen @stuntedgrowthmusic
@@thedonmega91 yeah I'm from the Bay (Oakland to be exact) Su definitely had a wave, but fell off.. don't nobody listen to bruh anymore.. P-Lo still doing shit
This shit really pisses me off. I directed the ‘Woman Problems’ video, then the single went to number 9 spot on iTunes. This was all before they were officially signed. They had a big LA following even before they signed. We all thought that this would blow us up, especially because the video went viral on 3 different channels, but it was pulled. Now, since the last time I checked, the only channels that have the video which is me and Lee (the editor). Universal only signed them to shelve them, trying to extinguish any sort of buzz they came in with. If the industry sees any sort of threat, like a group that comes with their own following, they give them an advance just to cross them out because they can’t release music unless the industry lets them. Total bullshit!!!! Pac Div could’ve/would’ve been huge!!!!
Pac Div & so many from that time were slept on. ]The blog era of Hip Hop is so underrated.

Pac Div. What it is? One Time! Pac Div!
'Church League Champions,' 'Don't Mention It,' and 'Mania' got so many plays on Livemixtapes from me.
