This video is perfect timing, I was researching this week which router to buy and how to replace the current one I have at home. I was looking for wifi 6, but I’ll look into this one as well. The only downside is that in my country they don’t sell the one you are showing. Great video 🔥
Switched from my 10 year old failing AirPort Extreme to this and I can say it was a complete game changer thanks for the review and detailed insight in a market where there’s so much options
These XE75s are great with wired backhaul. Look into a MoCA 2.5 adapter if you don't have ethernet runs. I have a pair with each at an opposite end of the house and have rock solid wifi not just in the house but also into the yard
Dang, my man REALLY did not want to switch to the Google Nest Wifi system LOL (Can't say I blame him either) I had an Airport Extreme back in the day but it became way too slow for my tastes. Currently rocking the TP-Link Deco x90 system and it's working flawlessly.
Hey, Costco has a 3-pack of this model for $350 and you can pick it up at your closest warehouse. It's an even better deal than the usual 2-pack. Total no-brainer! 🧠
The Deco 6e gives you an option to use ONLY 6 GHz for backhaul or us it for both backhaul and to connect devices. However, if you choose the latter, you will sacrifice some throughput as the 6 GHz has to compete between the base station and other devices connecting to it. Since MOST devices out there cannot handle the 6e standard - leave the 6 GHz channel for "backhaul" only and you will be happy with the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz (updated 6 GHz actually).
I got a 1500 sqft home and am looking to upgrade from some old Google wifi routers I got 5 yrs ago. I have Verizon Fios fiber optic gigabit internet service. Would this be a solid setup?
sorry if this is a dumb Q but does Cat 6 and wifi 6/6e have any correlation? I know Verizon just installed a Cat 6 modem with its appropriate Cat 6 wiring in my home.
No, cat 6 is just the standard of Ethernet cabling, category 6. Then you have 6A and 7 and 8 there after. Cat 6 is fine though and can give you speeds of 1 gigabit a second and higher, in some cases up to 10 gigabits. So whilst they are numbers if a specific networking and WiFi standard, they are separate and not related. Cat 6 cabling is perfectly fine for a home by the way.
I predict wifi will become so ubiquitous and inexpensive over time that everyone will just share all of it for basically free. There will be two tiers. A free one with ads and a pay for without ads. It will be run by the three main network providers. I suspect google and Apple will have competing services as they will buy the lesser carriers. So if you want you can just have Apple do everything. Anti-trust issues will be resolved over time.
Yeah yeah, I would like to see those 200 clients using wifi at the same time :), and people really eat this crap. Why just not to say is a good system for a house hold with 4 or 5 people, is more honest.

Great video 🔥
I am glad you found it useful 🙂
The first part of this video should be shown in schools to best describe the networks and how they differ. Great video.
Thanks Michael!

A very good informative video, the number of neighbouring networks you have is crazy! This seems like a good solution.
Always learned something useful from your videos.
I am happy that you did 👍🏻

Wow, that really sounds like an amazing deal.
Another nice video. Your office tour might be interesting one day
It comes in May 😉
What did you choose for your backhaul frequency? Probably 6 GHz, right? Also how far apart did you place your router and your access point?

Guy deserve 1 Billion subs
Thanks JD
Well thought out and great video!
Thank you kindly!
‘E’xcellent video my friend. Love how you simplified Wi-Fi standards. But I hate that I am now going to drop a few hundred bucks to upgrade.😉
I am missing one info and that is which devices can actually connect to the 6E wifi standard?

This is a good option, so are Amplifi, google are rumoured to be working in a new WiFi 6 mesh system for release this year too.
If the 2 includes nods aren't adequate, do you just buy another box/pair and plug them in and they get automatically sensed? Or can you buy singles?
All the TP-Link Deco Mesh can work together. The single unit will be available soon.

FCC got in touch with me to ask me if it's ok to use my name 🙂
All of your office devices were wifi 6 too? If not, hiw come you will make some improvements if they are only wifi 5?
Which is better deco WiFi 6e or eero WiFi 6e?
quality !!!!
Thanks!!!
I'm holding back for a Google wifi 6e launch
A new Google Mesh system is rumoured for launch later this year.

It's almost impossible for me to believe that all users don't have an Ethernet connection for their main computer!
I’m always on the go Fred.

This is a great product for a great price, if only it had WAN aggregation :(

You’re just doing the E because its you’re name. That is wrongful usage.
You got me 🙂
