A few things: the little song it plays when you turn on the Bluetooth is morse code for "SOS". This may sound like an odd thing to play until you know that this speaker is actually a gutted OEM cellular PTT radio device branded by Nokia and Anysecu. The weird and useless flashlight on the top just plugs the hole left by the removed rubber-encased antenna. The back which looks like it's removable? Yeah, that's where the battery is. On the PTT radio version you just unscrew the back and replace it with an optional larger battery. All of this explains the rugged construction. Once you understand it's origin, the design decisions make much more sense. It was a cheap way for an OEM to make a bluetooth speaker out of the parts bin they used for another product.

After my first post yesterday, I later read the reviews on Amazon about the device. Lots of positive reviews, but also a few having problems with buttons falling off, or the volume knob becoming inoperative ("click" sound failing), along with being unable to change volume up or down. I still like the retro military design though. 😎

Wow...first time I actually beat you to the punch. Saw it on Jon Gadget channel some time ago. Love it...I have purchased several of these for gifts.

Those speakers are pretty sweet. I actually contacted Muzen in June 2022 after watching a few videos on them. They never replied to me and I was too cheap to buy one. LOL. BTW - what microphone are you using now?

Thanks Steve👍🏻 the new mic is the Hollyland Lark M2. I have the Rode and DJI mics, and these are my favorite. A lot cheaper too and tiny

I looked at this item awhile back on Amazon, and definitely like the military styling of it. Thought about getting a couple for my teenage grandsons, but they're highly prone to breaking/losing stuff. Cool little gadget though. 👍

I wish I could mod it to add aux, so I wouldn't be limited to BT and could input a signal via Mini Jack. I've figured it has BP1032A2 Bluetooth chip. Theoretically it may be possible to solder aux to its pins, however I was unable to find a schematics. Would be awesome if anyone would figure this mod out
