  • The Amber Jigged Bone Whittler, is a compact, handsome pocket knife with lots of character and three useful blades. Makes for a great first whittling knife...
The RR375 is a lightweight, traditional EDC, which has 440 steel blades + swedging and match strike pulls. The primary spear point blade is 2.25" (UK Legal), and there are two smaller secondary coping and spear/pen blades. All blades are mirror-polished.
The handles are Amber Bone with a 'Brown Jigging', nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, and nickel silver pins.

If it was 1/2" longer and came with carbon sheepsfoot/wharncliffe blades, which would also help stiffen the secondary blades- it would be almost perfect!
A good buy ✅ hope you & your good lady are both well 🙏

One of my favourite patterns and this is a very good job I think; Case don't do split back springs, well done RR. This is the best of their Whittler offerings.

    • @gadgetgus

Absolutely 💯% the best bang for your buck Whittler from RR - good for youngsters learning to whittle, as it helps develop their hand skills & 'hand-eye' coordination. Its a whittler most adults can use, even up to retirees...
Personally, I would welcome a carbon blade with a slightly longer body...
Appreciate your valued feedback - thanks for watching buddy,

This is my favourite round the house knife. Chunky little main blade and the two others have their uses too. Doesn't frighten the local wildlife if it's left on the coffee table. Mine must be around four years old now and ok the bolsters aren't as shiny but rather than that it's pretty much the same as when I bought it. A great little knife.

Not my kind of colour, but the detail, blade and stamping I like.
Thank you for post and hyperbole haha. Kevin.

very nice knife , it looks great the thing with the pins is a thing all slip joints have in common the middle pin has to do two jobs hold the scales and the spring so that pin is a bit beefier and tends to stick out a touch more , I have it on a few of my case knives mostly if the bone is jigged if the scales are smooth the pins are too , I'm new to your channel but i realy like it , thought you had an assistant before , keep up the good work sos for waffling on ,p

I’ve just ordered this knife after seeing your review. Although I’m happy with my whittling knives I’m curious to see how good these low cost Whittlers are 🤪. I have the RRR Whittler you reviewed and it’s a gem but I haven’t whittled with it yet. I’m whittled out now. Thanks brother 😎🐸👍.

There is a newer model of this one with the tortoise shell scale material, RR2445. It includes half stops on all blades and the snap on the main blade looks to be much stronger than your model, maybe too much for some. They have changed the steel to 440B. It also has pinched bolsters, which I always thought of as just a decorative touch, but seem to give a more comfortable feel in the pocket as well.

Hi there, I hope you are fine and well, thank you for a very comprehensive and informative review of this lovely looking wee knife, I had been looking for another knife to complete an order and this one will do the job.
I have a few RR Whittlers, I have the older version of the Swayback and if you are looking for another Whittler to add to your collection, I would recommend one I just bought recently the RR155 another great whittling knife in Stag bone.
I have just found your channel and have subscribed, I wish you lots of luck in the future 👍

Rough Ryders are a hoot - I've a few which put the average Case to shame. A bit over-badged, although yours at least manages to escape the big R on the bolster, and has no over-the-top blade etches, but 3 matchstrike pulls?? I have the Canoe in what looks like the same series. The blade is a Tribal Spear, but call it a Wharnpoint or a Spearcliffe if you want! Not sure it's a proper splitback though, as I can't see a tapering liner between the two backsprings, just a gap (could be a trick of the light though). Seriously good build quality irrespective of price - if RR could make their knives a bit more elegant and less Tonka-toy, they'd give some makers of far more costly products a serious headache!

Agreed... I think if they just talk to us or if there were an online 'suggestion box' - this would be very helpful in their future products...

Great review. This is my favourite for carrying about too. Mines had the stiffest spring ever so for zbout a year it was permanently open, over the past mo th though i have been working on it. It opens abit better i have polished it up and iam going over it with fine grit wet n dry to get a pocket worn feel. If you like to fidget it spi s a treat on its back. It3 also z grear wee work knife and whittles a treat.
