      In his defense, I doubt we'd be able to trash out space... It would probably take a few hundred thousand years minimum for a planet to start forming from all the trash that would get launched into space.
      Though, Futurama did show us a possible outcome...

      @@DrelvanianGuardOffic a planet wouldn't form because it wouldn't have it's own gravity.
      Also it would make space travel impossible due to the uncertain launch conditions. You wouldn't know what you'd hit, when and where and if it'd affect the rocket lol

      @@studiovulcan4411 that is absolutely not true, the object would decay over time and eventually re enter earth's atmosphere due to orbital decay, especially at an orbit as fast and low as the iss'

    throwing stuff into space would send it into orbit. the station is travelling at insane speeds to maintain orbit around earth, if that bag where to hit anything, it would likely go straight through it, or at least severely damage the impact point. For example, if it hit a solar panel, or satellite, theres a good chance of it becoming inoperable

    I bet their sleep cycle is so strange, coming in from all over the globe into space where they have no clear sense of "day/night". I wonder what kind of clock they use, I imagine they must all have different "shifts" so someone is awake at all times too. Space is so cool

      @@sgeasley it does effect you're rythem of being able to sleep normally tho. In ICU's in hospitals where they don't have any windows they document a lot of sleep problems that they \then make up for with sleeping drugs :3

    To answer the question about waste, they do occasionally send trash down into the atmosphere to burn up with the shuttles which astronauts who remains on the space station came with. At least that's what I've been told.

      Actually, to be more precise there's a cargo pod called 'cygnus' that they fill their trash in and it does burn up in the atmosphere after it's done.
