Saw this live on Japanese TV!!.(Fuji TV-Ch8!)..back in the day! Brothers killed it !!..even as the sound crew got their sh#%*t together!! They were on tour in Japan and the show helped with even more tickets sales & dates!! Got to meet my Mentors too!! Sound Engineer was asleep for the first few minutes (it sounded like ass!) But the gang overpowered the sound system, got everything in line, and boy oh boy did they hit their groove!! Classic Brothers Johnson Tight! Cheers for the upload..👍🏼
@Vincent Brown That’s it. The rhythm department lives by that philosophy, especially bass. The notes you don’t play are sometimes THE notes. There’s nothing sweeter than the space between the beats when a little 16th note isn’t played, and that silence hits harder than the phatest kick drum, and anchors the groove better than Bootsy Collins playing only downbeats. The small nuances that aren’t necessarily obvious at first, or to most...that’s what separates the greats from the rest of us all scratching our heads in awe. But one lesson keeps turning up time & time again, and that’s quite simply, LESS IS MORE 😉 Keep learning, keep groovin brother 👊🏼
