i'm also writing my first draft, and i will say, the first chapter is something i STILL feel like isn't good. worry about it later!! you'll grow and learn as you write ❤️❤️
The perfectionist in me is definitely going to need to relax haha. Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way 💕
You mentioned not being where you want to be skill level-wise to portray a scene in the way you want to, which I get, but don't set yourself up for a goal you can't reach! writing is already so hard, don't make it harder on yourself! I'll literally just write "bad version of this scene:" at the top of the page and then write the scene so I don't stress about it or psych myself out about it not being exactly like I see it in my mind
you are so right with this! i definitely need to catch myself whenever i start comparing my first draft to already published books which have been through so many revisions! i know that i'm putting way too much pressure on this first draft when i need to just chill out lol. i really appreciate your comment!
Recently subscribed and enjoying your writer journey 😊 Starting is always hard and especially chapter 1 can keep bugging you haha 😂 I really told myself to get back to chapter 1 after I finished the first draft. I managed to and now feel I can edit the first chapter better after finishing the story. But it's always good to follow your heart and work on what you want to work on 😊 Also revision is both fun and terrifying 😂

i started writing again (thanks to you hehe) and i'm sooo stuck. i feel like you do, where it's like you know exactly how you want it to go but youre looking back at your chapters like EHHH. and i'm not even that deep into it 😂 but i'm like stuck there now hahah
girl it is such a struggle!! but i have faith that the next few drafts will polish all the ugly bits haha. but i'm so glad you started writing again!! good luck
