Its sad that Station wagon/Estate cars are leaving North America. They offer almost every advantage of the SUVS, with far better efficiencies.
The Chevy bolt isn't being permanently discontinued. It's being brought back on the new ultium platform. So hopefully when it comes again it has a higher range and more luxury.

Station wagons is dead in US... But in some countrys in Europe we love our station wagons, we realize how good they are, it's like driving a saloon, often looks better and works great as a family car, and with the models with a bigger engine you also have something fun to drive.
I'm from the UK and love my Leon Sport Tourer. 2L remapped to 220bhp. Good MPG, comfy, practical and wipes the smile off many young drivers who think they can take me in their fiestas or 1 series
Everyone talks about station wagons this and that but for the longest now there's been station wagons available and nobody buys them so they got to die.
@@B0xlife1 In USA and some countrys in Europe that's correct... If no one buys them don't sell them. But for example in my home country over 30% still buys station wagons. USA isn't the world you know!! The market for cars looks very different.

IMHO 2015 landmark year, bottled water outsold all other beverages including soda and beer, and SUVs topped cars on the best-seller list and cut pickup truck sales in half.

The Audi TT was based on a design exercise show car, which was a cabriolet and the big design queue was the stitching of the leather seats which had their finish stitching based on the look of a baseball mitt, the hard top only came around after the production Audi TT soft top had been for sale for about a year, but the TT was not designed for production when it was unveiled at, and I'm not sure about this, Frankfurt motor show, but Audi received that many enquiries from the public as to when it was going to be released. They decided to take the car to production and the rest is history as they say.

Now i would like to say I'm a car guy and mostly current with new cars and models but I have never heard of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Apparently, it came out in 2018 until the end of 2023. Hoovie is right it was too expensive $100k base and 180k for the top trim talking 911 level here.
But as a car price taking away. Man, what a beautiful car! Now on the used market have to say I think it would be a great car for the money for a 2018 base model but not very base looking lovely Interior for sale with 25k miles for 59k I don't think that is bad.
Had a Kia Stinger GT. Loved it. Great car. Fast, practical with the hatchback, stylish… but ultimately replaced it with a Tesla. 😢

I just turned in my Audi A4 Allroad. Loved the car. Needed 2” of rear leg room for the kids and it would’ve been the perfect car for us. Now I have a Q5.
Audi still makes the S3, RS3, S4, RS4, S5, RS5, S6, RS6, S7, and RS7. Maybe they aren't sports cars, but my S5 is pretty fun to drive! The R8 wasn't a strong seller, especially when you consider that VAG makes other cars that directly compete with it. Another reason is that Audi has pulled almost all of its factory support for race teams due to its F1 program for 2026.

April brought up a question about how much a lack of marketing plays into a lack of sales, which causes cars to be cancelled. I think it's very important. I own a 2013 Fiat 500C Abarth, purchased new. The Fiat 500 was cancelled in the U.S. after 2019 due to lack of sales. After Fiat returned to the U.S. in 2012, there was plenty of marketing. J'Lo was in one. Charlie Sheen was in one. There was that 500x ad with the Viagra. Then the ads just disappeared. Poof! Vanished without a trace. I hadn't seen an ad for Fiat since 2014/2015. How does a company expect to sell a product without marketing?

The KIa Stinger GT was an impressive car! Faster than 4 cylinder Mustang, but had 4 doors and room in the back for kids and all their luggage.
Nissan Maxima was a fullsize and the Nissan Altima was a midsize. The Nissan Sentra is the compact of the bunch.
The 500x is now an electric small suv, and it is the same as the Jeep Avenger, both sold in Europe only. The 500 is actually sold in the US again. GM changed their mind about the Chevy Bolt. It‘s not getting discontinued.
Yes and No on the Bolt. They are killing the current version and will transition it to their "Ultium" platform. So it probably won't be a $28k car.
You need to get Nelix on of those motorized feathers on a string that you hang up, or a Lazer toy that you set on a low table or shelf that shoots beams around the floor. They're good exercise and will burn off some of that kitten energy.
One reason the Kia Stinger didn't sell is that the local Kia dealer added a $5000 "Market Adjustment" to the price of a car that was not selling!
I'm betting we see the twin turbo straight 6 in the new Charger. Probably a 4 door version too. I can't see Dodge going full electric and alienating their fans.

My first car was a 92 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE and I did headers exhaust intake manifold injectors and found a tuner that could actually slightly tuned the car and I was able to eliminate my governor and rev limiter the fastest I ever got the car up to was 173.174 my speedometer buried at 140 and I was at 3,500 RPMs I continue to climb until I reached about 5500 RPM when I backed out so I'm guessing somewhere in the 160 170s

I've always loved station wagons. My favorite car I ever owned was a station wagon. I would sacrifice my cat for a Road Master Estate Wagon. I rent station wagons (or crossovers if I can't get one) when in Germany each year. I just don't have the room or use for one right now. I choose to own multiple motorcycles instead. I just don't have the room for a station wagon and I'm not changing that.
I wonder if that is similarly true for others who love station wagons but can't justify having one?
I would also love an EV, but I don't have a use for one and I live in a rural area in the states....even harder for me. I even looked into renting an EV the last time in Germany and it didn't make sense. (I tried both times this year.) Charging would have been a nightmare. I would have to go into the larger metro areas to charge. I wouldn't even be able to charge at our house. The downtown area has parking spots where you can charge, but they are time limited and never available any time we were there. (They also have a robust public transport system so we do use that on occasion. It makes sense in a metro area, but not where we live in the US. It would be dumb.)

The wagon paradox is frustrating. I would love to see an A4 and A6 Avant, but can’t afford a $150k RS6 Avant. I had an A4 Allroad but wanted something bigger but I’d have to spend north of $70k to get an A6 Allroad. Meanwhile Subaru is selling to a of similarly sized Outback wagons.

I just read in The Star that the E63 wagon is coming back in '24. I understand that the E350 and and E450 are coming early this year, and the wagon variants (Sadly only the lifted Sport Wagon and the AMG's) will be coming later on.
We lost the stinger in Australia after only about 4 years in the market... pity, they're quite a nice looking car with good performance too

I hate to see any wagons being discontinued and would like to see Tyler do a series on obtainable Sports Wagons in next couple of years. I've always been a station wagon aficionado and the Cadillac CTSV wagon is one of my favorite ones. I believe that they are much more popular in Europe where people realize they can have the best of two worlds, driving prowness of a sedan and the practicality of a SUV or Crossover. FIAT being gone from America, once again, wouldn't surprise me as it became an acronym for Fix It Again Toney!

We love looking at April (Chrystal? How did you go that far?!?!?) and you’re not hideous. But Nelix is a cool cat. And makes it more of a morning show.

Tesla has sold every car they have made. All of them. The EV demand at all of the other companies is low, because they produce garbage EVs. The hummer? If it had all of the toys and gimics and a nacs plug, maybe? But $140,000 is quite a bit. It’s $50,000 more than a cybertruck in beast mode. The semi is up there too, it’s only ten thousand more. The semi has 500miles of range, the cycbertruck 330.
The bolt? The ford vehicles? They almost get the range, as long as one doesn’t mind them breaking regularly. And they do. Oh, and the bolt catches fire at random (and has been discontinued but after the batteries swaps of the entire fleet they burn houses down less).
The Honda? Same price range as a Y with 150mile range? The Kona? Same.
Want to know why there isn’t much demand with other companies’ EVs? They aren’t trying. The latest Hyundai is competitive. So that’s one.
We can’t get the Chinese cars. We didn’t get the Honda E. Those would have sold fairly well as the prices were lower (Honda was still wickedly over priced, but darn it was a very Honda looking car, and cute).
That’s why hoovie. They aren’t competing. The closes thing to competition right now is the fisker, and they can’t make enough of them and lose money on each one. Not that that’s damning, Tesla didn’t make profit until 2018. But their profits have exploded since then. And I hope, very much, that Aptera gets the sales they obviously deserve. They have an amazing product with fantastic range.
But gm? VW(group)? Ford? Stelantis? Of course their demand is low, they aren’t making cars worth the money.
You’re awesome, and even you have an order for cybertruck. Even with all of your negative commentary over the years. You had a Tesla S run only on backroads to show us how bad the “range problem” was. I’m sure it was fun finding the worst places to go, though living in the middle of Kansas and driving only backroads certainly helps. That entire episode seemed a bit like then topgear screwed Tesla.
Cybertruck is the ultimate farm truck. Feed the cattle? Don’t have to worry about horn rub, don’t have to worry about terrain, don’t have to rattlecan the paint constantly to reduce rust. Move haybails? Sure, it’s an add on part that will be available in less than a year, but the forks and spikes will be out. Go into town, no one lives 300miles from “town”. I don’t think anyone lives more than 150miles from town. Not that you need to go many places where you can’t charge. Trailer load is fantastic too.
And the best part is, just like all other EVs, charge it at your home overnight, poof, you’ve got another day of work you can get done.
And you claim EVs have more things that can go wrong? Do a parts check just in an engine. Teslas have the motor, a transmission, and typical things like doors. Heck, cybertruck has one fewer windshield wiper motor and wiper. That’s nigh infinitely less complex.
So let Nelix go where he wants. Maybe not the biting. But he adds to the show, even when just lying on the table. Don’t be afraid, we’ll still look at you, occasionally. And April gets plenty of eye time. But we aren’t watching it to stare at you guys, we watch to see a minimum 20min morning show that isn’t two morons yelling. Crazy Ira and the Douche isn’t what we want. And it’s not what we get. Thanks.

I agree with a wagon provides all the advantages of an SUV with better looks. Had a Jaguar XF Sport Brake. AWD,380hp and drop dead gorgeous. Probably received more compliments on that car than any I’ve owned. That includes 911,M3,S4 and collectibles. You hardly ever saw them on the road
