Hey Pep, the previous owner of my Virago swapped out the front frame mounting bolts. The ones that go through the frame onto the bracket. They are different lengths and different colors. I can’t find the specifics on parts fiche would you be so kind to share the bolt size?
Oof, I darn't tell... Best way is to just put something long in and measure the lenght. Then, measure the width size... I sold the bike so I can't measure them for you. You can also search on cmsnl.com very often they mention the sizes of the bolts (search via the exploded view)
Not yet. I first want to ride it and experience how it runs. Also want to ride in the piston rings first before tuning the carbs. But to be honoust (I also mention this in the video's) I bring it to the dynojet workshop where they will tune it properly. Otherwise I would have to orde a whole bunch of jets and ride the bike so many times around my house to tune it myself. Rather let this to the experts with the proper machines. It will take them like 1,5 hours and then it's all fixed.
Chiefpep thanks for the reply! I just got a dirt cheap 82 Virago 750 but it’s missing all of the rubber elbow boots and the air boxes. I thought pods would be cheaper and easier. What would you suggest if you know that switch out jets and messing with it for days isn’t an issue?
Pods are indeed cheap. That is, the ones that I use are like 5 to 10 Euro's. You could go for a Dynojet stage 1 set. There is this set specially for the Virago 750. That helps a lot! You also use an open exhaust? That also really helps (the more air in should go out somewhere... If that is even just some more gas/Dynojet set should almost do the trick)
Do you have any trick for front fork alignment? 'Cause i had quite a hard time making sure the alignment between handle bar, and front wheel axis after servicing my front forks. Thanks!
You mean centering your wheel between the forks? That's just a matter of measuring? Also, you brakecalipers are very accurate... Keep those as a reference point.
Hoi Pep, The bike is looking really awesome now my friend. Can't wait to see what comes in the next video. Do you possibly have a link for the air filters that you put on the carburetor?? Groeten, Al.
Hi Pep, the bike is looking great and really coming together now. The small ai filters are interesting. What are you doing with jetting? Are you planning to seal up the frame or leave it as it is?
