When you turned to the camera and said “ let’s go home and make some food” I was like, yes, let’s do that. That sounds like a plan. I know that feeling when your intuition tells you to turn around, it’s time. Cooking is everything, I went to culinary school. It’s a huge skill anyone can learn and it’s so important to our well being and happiness. Are you not interested in dating? It must get lonely in that neck of the woods. No doubt there’s a lot to be said about being free and having no one to answer to, but I imagine you would be happy and very content with someone like minded. I think you would make a great father.
You mention an eagle was just out of view of your GoPro as we learn about the rolling sprinklers in the field. Seconds after at 40:00 that Eagle swoops into frame, perhaps it’s your father watching over with pride as you pass on his wisdom. God Bless you on your journey wherever it may lead! 🙏

Like Button funny I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. We have this Volvo which is supposed to be one of the better built vehicles, was back in the day, but now everything is plastic! The gas tank wouldn’t open and when I pried it open the plastic cover split in two. It’s one thing after another with that car and it’s brand new. They don’t make anything like they use to. Shame.
@@nifflofair6685 no doubt. It was my fault. I had a 240 back in the day when they were made well and thought it would be a good choice, but nothing is made like it was 20, 50 years ago. Nothing!
Matt, I'm 65 and sitting here watching you make decorations for your tree and lighting it, brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me of the trees we had when I was little. There were 9 of us kids and we were pretty poor, so we had to be very creative, just like you. You know what would be great is, if you had some red spray paint and you could spray the noodles red. This whole video tastes like victory to me Matt. Another victory of many more battles that need to be won and that will be won by you. As you say, sometimes a battle can be as short as an hour, minute or even only a second long and all these seemingly little victories train your brain to gain more and more faith and confidence in yourself. I know I live a different life than you and we all have our very own challenges and struggles, I can still totally relate to everything you're talking about. I remember back in May or June I told you on IG about my anxieties and panic attacks I used to have in the past and that I had to learn to train my brain not to switch to panic mode by facing all of my fears over and over and over again. You told me in your reply to my comment back then that what I was doing to get healthy again was called "exposure therapy". I fought so many battles and there were times when I thought I wouldn't make it. I ALWAYS did though because I'm a fighter and I don't like to fail either. Like you, I also remember a conversation that was a turning point. I asked: "What do I have to do to never have a panic attack again?" And the answer was very clear: "Everything you are afraid of." So that's what I did. I turned around all the rocks in my backpack (using your example now) and after almost 2 years of hard work I could meet friends again without being afraid of having a panic attack. Since then I haven't had a single one and I feel like I got a second life and a second chance, one where I can talk about my feelings openly like I'm doing it with you because I know you understand and I'm not alone and I don't have to be perfect because none of us are. "Exposure therapy" is still the one "tool" that works best for me in many situations in my life which leads me back to your situation. In a way I feel this video is another much smaller "truth video". I can imagine that your past can be very, very present for you because you are exposed to it when you are on the mountain with the burned trees for example or when seeing your family members in new cars or on birthdays and holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. I understand that these can be very triggering and painful moments/times that you're facing then. I believe many things still need more time. From all I know through what you've shared in the past, you need more time to heal and work through the issues step by step that these individual problems bring with them. When you look back at the past year, I sincerely hope you see and truly feel all your successes deep in your heart and that these successes always shine their light bright on the painful problems that still need to be solved in the time ahead. You might be the squirrel who fell into the river, you also know that this squirrel will eventually lead a richer life with all these new and neccessary experiences. You chose the path of your own truth and I'm so much like you there. The truth can hurt, a lot, it's still the healthiest and most honest path from my point of view. Deep thinking and deep feeling is a gift I think, it also comes with some form of pain oftentimes and with beautiful, intense moments too, at least this is how I personally feel about it. I wouldn't want to live life in a different way even if it's not the easy path. You're right, the struggles won't ever end, sometimes they are smaller than on other days and admitting that all of us are fighting our very own battles is such a helpful and good feeling I think. In my previous job I used to be surrounded by people who seemed to be perfect and highly successful all the time in every aspect of their lives. I felt so misplaced and weak somehow until I finally realized that being deep and not superficial is not a weakness at all. Then I slowly adapted my life so I could be much more ME. It will always be work in progress though. You're on a great path for yourself with true friends by your side in real life as well as here on RUclips and on IG and I could add a lot more to the list of wonderful things. I know however from my own experience that knowing and truly feeling and seeing all these wonderful things and successes can be so hard when dealing with serious personal challenges. You will overcome them Matt because you have the right mindset, determination, spirit and heart. You are the fighter squirrel and you will also be the winner squirrel eventually 🙂 I totally had the feeling something was wrong or heavy on your heart by the way and it's so hard sometimes not to simply be able to pick up the phone and say: "Hey Matt, I might be in a different timezone, I'm still always there and I ALWAYS believe in you!'" That's why I mention your old Cowboy friend in my comments often because knowing that you have a friend like him or your friend from the store in Loomis is so helpful to me because I know they can act and be there for you like true friends would and that is so precious. On a totally different note, do I understand this right that you have your ID and driver's license now? That would be amazing! Love the car you got, I hope you will take us along for a drive some time. Your surroundings and the scenery are so beautiful in this video again and I learned something new today about the sprinkler lines and cattle guard and I felt like I was sitting at the table with you folding snowflakes. So while you were explaining how to make them, I finished two. Too bad I can't share a picture of them here. (I folded stars for my windows this Christmas season using tracing paper.) I'm also glad you didn't end up like Chevy Chase when turning on the Christmas light outside. Your drum roll made me laugh out loud 😆 I'm looking forward to the second part of your video Matt, thank you for helping and inspiring me with your videos to keep tackling my own struggles... Your friends saying is so true. Thirst is not a sign of hydration and hunger is a sign of nutrition. Life can become so hectic, these things can easily forgotten. I passed out twice because of hydration and needed IV fluids. I was busy working, that I didn't have a second to even get a drink of water. Best of luck Matt. Life is a journey.

Hi Matt you know it's okay to mourn and it's okay to be alone, but you know we are never truly alone heavenly father is always with us. I know sometimes you have doubts in your mind and a heavy heart but you just got to keep praying and fighting. I understand how hard it is I was alone for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years but if we truly have faith we are never alone. You made it a long way and you will continue to go further, you have a strong resolve to do your best. And your little tree is beautiful! This year I've been so down I didn't even put up a tree, I did however put up a manger because truly Jesus is the reason for the season. I lost my Mom in 2009 and both brothers and best friend and last Grandparent (Grandma) in 2018... and This year I finally got enough spirit to put some of my Mom's Christmas lights along the front of my house roof... felt good.

Its awful that you live so close to your family but they arent around Matt. The more i see, the more appaulled i am by the family. We all make mistakes, sometimes big ones but your family should be there for you. They dont need to agree that whats happened in the passed is ok, but family should be there to help pick up the pieces and set u back on the right track and to my knowledgethey arent. I used to own a 1977 Chevy C2020. I loved that old pick up. Long story short it was stolen and trashed. I know you kind of had a hard go of it for a while Matt, but I am glad you worked through your funk. It was inspirational. Having people in your life who cheer you on helps. That truck runs really good, I remember learning to drive in a truck like that! You got some really good friends Matt and I'm glad to hear that. I always put my tree in a container then put rocks all around in the bucket to hold the tree in place and then fill it with water, your tree looked great by the way! Like you, I also remember a conversation that was a turning point. I asked: "What do I have to do to never have a panic attack again?" And the answer was very clear: "Everything you are afraid of." So that's what I did. I turned around all the rocks in my backpack (using your example now) and after almost 2 years of hard work I could meet friends again without being afraid of having a panic attack. Since then I haven't had a single one and I feel like I got a second life and a second chance, one where I can talk about my feelings openly like I'm doing it with you because I know you understand and I'm not alone and I don't have to be perfect because none of us are.
"Exposure therapy" is still the one "tool" that works best for me in many situations in my life which leads me back to your situation. In a way I feel this video is another much smaller "truth video". I can imagine that your past can be very, very present for you because you are exposed to it when you are on the mountain with the burned trees for example or when seeing your family members in new cars or on birthdays and holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. I understand that these can be very triggering and painful moments/times that you're facing then. I believe many things still need more time. From all I know through what you've shared in the past, you need more time to heal and work through the issues step by step that these individual problems bring with them. When you look back at the past year, I sincerely hope you see and truly feel all your successes deep in your heart and that these successes always shine their light bright on the painful problems that still need to be solved in the time ahead. You might be the squirrel who fell into the river, you also know that this squirrel will eventually lead a richer life with all these new and neccessary experiences. You chose the path of your own truth and I'm so much like you there. The truth can hurt, a lot, it's still the healthiest and most honest path from my point of view. Deep thinking and deep feeling is a gift I think, it also comes with some form of pain oftentimes and with beautiful, intense moments too, at least this is how I personally feel about it. I wouldn't want to live life in a different way even if it's not the easy path. You're right, the struggles won't ever end, sometimes they are smaller than on other days and admitting that all of us are fighting our very own battles is such a helpful and good feeling I think. In my previous job I used to be surrounded by people who seemed to be perfect and highly successful all the time in every aspect of their lives. I felt so misplaced and weak somehow until I finally realized that being deep and not superficial is not a weakness at all. Then I slowly adapted my life so I could be much more ME. It will always be work in progress though. You're on a great path for yourself with true friends by your side in real life as well as here on RUclips and on IG and I could add a lot more to the list of wonderful things. I know however from my own experience that knowing and truly feeling and seeing all these wonderful things and successes can be so hard when dealing with serious personal challenges. You will overcome them Matt because you have the right mindset, determination, spirit and heart. You are the fighter squirrel and you will also be the winner squirrel eventually 🙂
I totally had the feeling something was wrong or heavy on your heart by the way and it's so hard sometimes not to simply be able to pick up the phone and say: "Hey Matt, I might be in a different timezone, I'm still always there and I ALWAYS believe in you!'" That's why I mention your old Cowboy friend in my comments often because knowing that you have a friend like him or your friend from the store in Loomis is so helpful to me because I know they can act and be there for you like true friends would and that is so precious.
On a totally different note, do I understand this right that you have your ID and driver's license now? That would be amazing! Love the car you got, I hope you will take us along for a drive some time. Your surroundings and the scenery are so beautiful in this video again and I learned something new today about the sprinkler lines and cattle guard and I felt like I was sitting at the table with you folding snowflakes. So while you were explaining how to make them, I finished two. Too bad I can't share a picture of them here. (I folded stars for my windows this Christmas season using tracing paper.) I'm also glad you didn't end up like Chevy Chase when turning on the Christmas light outside. Your drum roll made me laugh out loud 😆

Your friends saying is so true. Thirst is not a sign of hydration and hunger is a sign of nutrition. Life can become so hectic, these things can easily forgotten. I passed out twice because of hydration and needed IV fluids. I was busy working, that I didn't have a second to even get a drink of water. Best of luck Matt. Life is a journey.

Hi Matt you know it's okay to mourn and it's okay to be alone, but you know we are never truly alone heavenly father is always with us. I know sometimes you have doubts in your mind and a heavy heart but you just got to keep praying and fighting. I understand how hard it is I was alone for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years but if we truly have faith we are never alone. You made it a long way and you will continue to go further, you have a strong resolve to do your best. And your little tree is beautiful! We all make mistakes, sometimes big ones but your family should be there for you. They dont need to agree that whats happened in the passed is ok, but family should be there to help pick up the pieces and set u back on the right track and to my knowledgethey arent.

I used to own a 1977 Chevy C2020. I loved that old pick up. Long story short it was stolen and trashed. I know you kind of had a hard go of it for a while Matt, but I am glad you worked through your funk. It was inspirational. Having people in your life who cheer you on helps. That truck runs really good, I remember learning to drive in a truck like that! You got some really good friends Matt and I'm glad to hear that. I always put my tree in a container then put rocks all around in the bucket to hold the tree in place and then fill it with water, your tree looked great by the way!
