In the 50's every teenage boy sounded like Wally Cleaver even the black teenage boys lol.
I think it had to do more so with the audio equipment they used back then
Everyone's voices sounded the same to a degree
@Rusty Shackleford only old black Peoples sounds different in the 50s
Everyone back then was taught to speak in something called transatlantic accent while on tv, that's the only way you could understand what they're saying because of the audio equipment
They were all raised right.
You are so right!!!
We are a beautiful people!
No you are not..

This channel is a real treasure chest filled with the most brilliant gems I never knew existed!❤❤
💯
Lots of old timey footage I love it my grandma was born in 1920 so I always relate old stuff back to her its awesome 💯
"The old hotel's "discriminating" guests." 2:52 Voice over guy had no idea how loaded that line was😂
Wtf
That 70's dog food...
is probably HEALTHIER than the processed foods, we eat now in 2020.
So nice seeing these commercials i never even knew existed. This channel is a learning tree for me. :).
Riogi but they made sure the white boys out come was better...

Who cares. It’s nice seeing blacks were involved. The way people talk today I never knew these kind of commercials existed and makes me wonder what else they lie about.
Our very astute viewers recognized Alex Clarke of The Learning Tree in the toothpaste ad and picked up on the adjective, "discriminating", in the Maxwell House commercial having a loaded meaning in the context of the commercial's setting with a black servant happy for his master's success. But no one mentioned Rod Perry's participation in the last commercial. He was one of the stars on the S.W.A.T. tv series and the star of blaxploitation's The Black Gestapo and The Black Godfather. Peace and Blessings to the ReelBlack family. Stay safe and be well.
So glad you posted this
WHAT?!!! omg. IT'S the same dang toothpaste, how is it gonna suddenly INCREASE the % of cavities reduced? Wondra, takes the day's work right outcha hands, folks! Seeing as you're a maid anyway.
seeing as you're the *HELP* , rather
Rat poison and toothpaste share a common ingredient...
I remember my parents buying theses products & seeing these adverts .
I love the way they spoke they were so articulate
thank you for the memories reelblack
No wonder everyone was smoking back then. They made those cigarettes look bomb. I don't even smoke
U see how they didnt inhale THO😏😒😔
Check out Nat Shermans. Golden silk filters and multicolored papers. It's also where "sherm" came from lol
l truly love this channel... One of my favorites was the gangs in Philadelphia in the 60s...
I love your channel. I really do. Thank you. ❤️
YAYYYYYYY❤❤❤❤❤I LOVE THIS💚💚💚💚💚💚
WOW thanks for uploading
I just love the early eras 😍. Good ol' Maxwell House coffee. My personal favorite. 😊
The first kid in the commercial played the bully in ,"The Learning Tree".
Much Gratitude
OMG! I'm old and I remember seeing most of those ads and I lived in CT rural areas.
Tell me how you grew up and what things were like for you
@@gothiclove990 It is not as if this person grew up in 1890 or 1920. Watch a video and learn something.
Thanks for sharing ♥️❤️🖤🙌🏿✊🏿❤️♥️🖤🙌🏿✊🏿
Cringe
I knew Donald Glover was a diversified, transcendent talent.. but, 1950's toothpaste?
Legendarily Brilliant.
I love how respectful these young men are to each other
My God 🙌🙏✊💎 Stuff I never got to see
Amazing how you find these. Thank you also for starting with the more pleasant commercials before hitting us with the "background Negro" commercials. Like Paul Mooney used to say something about how funny it is they hate us in their neighborhoods when we used to sleep at their beds.
Don't forget about the cavity creeps. Thanks crest.
I know iI shouldn't laugh at this, but I'm the only one that found it funny that in the first commercial the white kids % was so much higher LMBO
2021 all the time
To this day..I use Maxwell House Coffee and Crest Toothpaste
Best video title ever
I thought it said black folks sell your stuff I was so confused 😕
The Joel Cheek commercial reminds me of that Chris Farley commercial on SNL. Lol.
I always wondered why both my grandmother's used trash a$$ Crest 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know that voice…that is the young man who played the bully in the learning tree.
‘Discriminating Guests’ at 2:50 . Touche Maxwell House.
In the dog food commercial, did I see the actor was in the original SWAT tv show? He looked familiar. Thanks for sharing the commercials.
Wow....
Damn! I'm old... Lol
WOW!!!...
🎬 awesome
♠ 💜
Well this is important to the black culture
Not everyone was racist in the 50s kids
"That's when i finally beat Jeff..." 😂😂😂
Wow & i see a lot of things in those video clips.Im smh..its good that we can see ourselves in more normal times..We have ben used up all along..& some.
Please explain to me what it is that you “see” in these video clips?
@@TheRTM
I also see how we were blindly,& openly lured, into changing from our natural order, of survival into the ways developed by this system..Money is the root of all evil surely..
@@candaceloves8199 You are still being vague what natural order are you speaking of?(What do you consider natural?) What is it about these commercials that you find problematic?
@@TheRTM
Hi &I never said the video was a problem..I actually enjoyed the video,& im not being vague about anything.I explained clearly what i meant..& the natural order is a form of being normal in a correct sense somewhat..Im a different type of thinker..& many times people act like
they cant understand me.I try to use terms that keep down confusion, but they mean what they mean still.I think thats why you say i was being vague..I talk on a more, common, down to earth level because im not highly educated based on what society claims as being educated.
Candace Loves Not trying to challenge or attack you at all, (only trying to understand you)
Many black people that I’ve spoken to (or debated) seem to have it their head that their negative media representation or lack of it has always been as it is now. ( I disagree with that assertion) The 70- thru the 80s (in my opinion) is a time they were actually getting it right. ...( do you agree?)
Heavy.
It’s sad that the first kid was excited that he finally won SOMETHING….. even if it was a toothpaste competition.
LMFAO. Yeah, it is pretty sad.
In Asia, there is a toothpaste brand literally called Black Person.
Wow
Yes, it was originally called Darkie but changed the Darlie.
One of those boys looks like a young "Tito Jackson" of the Jackson five!
Wow
Marcus savage from the Learning Tree.
I need that Wondra for real tho!!
They were blowing smoke all in those people's faces.
I got excited for a sec when I thought it was beef egg and cheese flavour all together
uh, excited for me dog, not for me...
U see how they're not really smoking......that SHOULD tell u something😏😒😒😒😒😒😒🚭
Why are whites in these commercial.. false advertising
When we were kids we watched "Julia" and later, "Sanford and Son" and "The Jeffersons" and never thought, "Let's watch a Black show!". Though we're (considered) White, we would watch "Good Times" and comment on how much it was like the way we lived (...and worried about the rent!). The minds of young people today have been twisted to see Race in everything. It's the oldest trick in the Marxist playbook - Divide and Conquer - and young people who've had little, or NO exposure to real history, are falling for it HOOK-LINE-AND-SINKER.
These seem so degrading and distasteful...so much sadness it brings...
wow, my mother smoked larks cigarettes.
Dang I wonder where these folks are now
My dad smoked Parliament...unfiltered...died of lung cancer at 40....
Damn
Look at this shii 2024
Great to see these, but I don't think these commercials actually got air time! Definitely not in the 50's...We never really saw ourselves on TV back then unless in helper positions. I don't remember seeing black commercials till the late 60's, then Soul Train in the 70's
Did a Black man come up with the the blend of coffee beans for Maxwell house coffee
no its the servant role that makes it fill the roster.
@@reelblack thank's for the correction..we had a major role helping Maxwell coffee getting started..
Patent Poison you can't patent it with out poison
the in second ad the woman sounds like a young man
“Discriminating guests.”
Muddy waters
Yrh
Ahhh, the fifties were the best for smokers..you could actually light up a stick without everybody up your fucking colon.
Do any rich people care about this
5:14 Why does it matter what flavor the dog food is? And why ya girl Button so picky, doesn't she know her species will literally eat garbage? 😂
Catfish!
Wtf 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Never happened.
Now we all know that Black Americans teeth always look whiter than White Americans, it’s just a fact!
