  • Everyone wants to see these two beasts side by side, so we thought we'd film some of the testing while working on the reviews. The Traxxas TRX-6 6x6 came out of no where, and has some big shoes to fill behind the TRX-4 success. The Axial Racing SCX-10 II UMG 6x6 has been exactly what Axial fans have been begging for. We started off trail driving and following each vehicle around to see how they would handle the course, but in true Big Squid RC fashion, it soon turned into a bash fest and demo derby! Except for some scratches, both vehicles have survived to drive another day.
    We don't make any decisions on the winner yet, but the reviews are coming ASAP!
    Who do you think is the winner so far? What one are you voting for to win? Let us know below!
    Special thanks to www.axialracing... and traxxas.com/ for their support to make this happen!
    Thanks for watching.

    Can't imagine smashing $1000+ of crawlers into each other, damn.

    First half of the video was cool, a bit stupid smashing into each other repeatedly on purpose at the end.

    Watching the rear axles on those rocks looks like the axial has more flex...

    • @johnbasterson7938
      @johnbasterson7938 5 лет назад +2

      More flex isn't necessarily good. The trx6 has a higher cog. More flex would equal tip overs. Portals have their disadvantages.

    The G-Wagon (Traxxas TRX-6) and the Unimog (SCX-10 II UMG) are *not* on the same scale here...the Unimog would be a lot bigger if they were to scale. That said, I think that the Unimog would benefit greatly from some better, and maybe larger tires. I do think that it is interesting that both are based upon Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

    • @alterbayer7196
      @alterbayer7196 3 года назад

      no....... the Benz-Tires are way better than the Mog-Tires

  • @newtonfoster7581
    @newtonfoster7581 5 лет назад +8

    I agree with the 2nd comment, Unimog has more flex it appears and the body has better clearance but the Traxxas seems to perform better, and being a previous owner of a TRX4 BRONCO that I invested a lot of time and money into making it the way I wanted and holding an RTR red Axial Jeep Rubicon in my hands and comparing the 2, Traxxas has a much much better foundation from which they even start theirs and I just like them better. Every screw is at least M3, links are M4 or M5 threads, Axial's are puny but I plan on getting the TRX6 in the future especially if they offer it in a kit and I can hopefully find another body even though I do like the Mercedes

    I know this has nothing to do with this video but does anyone know how to stiffen up an axial scxii frame? My truck is mostly stock but when I'm at full flex my bumbers and body don't line up anymore and it's really irritating and can't find any help. Not sure it's mostly the frame flexing or if its the plastic middle supports that are flexing so if anyone knows anything let me know please!

    I think the Axial looks🔥 as detailed as the traxxas is the lines of the body just make it look cheap to me..performance wise they seemed pretty equal and have pro's and con's in different terrains. Hard to choose an outright winner for me lol. Traxxas probs should have went umimog style also but 2 door version maybe🤷‍♂️. Still pretty awesome rigs.👍👍👍.

    Man! Traxxas dominated the whole video. Put some weight at the front and it would be almost unstoppable climbing. Traveling on an angle sideways it’s ok but perhaps if I add weight as well then it might perform betta.

    Both great rigs, but the G body drives me nuts. I have never even heard of a G body on trail or anywhere near the rocks in 1:1. Axial made a much better decision body wise. I know the trx has a ton more options(to break) I like my crawlers simple and reliable.

      Petko Grudlev and ground clearance, locking diffs, and two speed transmission. The axial model they tried to depict has portals in real life but released without them. Id rather traxxas had used axials body or axial had used portals like they should’ve. Same complaint as everyone else.
