  • This was pretty hard for me to do on camera. But I wanted to do it for you guys. I want to be as open as possible and make you guys feel like you are really apart of my life. Thanks to those of you that watched the whole video, I know it was long and videos like this may be a bit awkward to watch. You all rock.

I cried because I used to treat my mom bad when I was young but now I treat my mom a lot better. My moms mom was 62 when her mom died and some nights see cries. I'll hug her and tell I'm so sorry. I've lost a lot in my life. Yes I'm still a kid and I still have a lot of things to loose. So I'm so sorry.

Thank you for telling this. Im 13 and on my 12th birthday my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 brest cancer. I thought somehow it was for somthing I did and i was being punished. My mother was cleared about a week after before Christmas and a day or so after her birthday. And if anyone reading this is going through this, have hope, and know if they do pass, its to a better place, thanks for reading.

Everyone should take advantage of the time with their mother. My mother is still alive, but we've never gotten along. We never had a relationship where she would read me to sleep or sing me to sleep or take me places. We were low on money, so she would be at work all night, and then she'd sleep or cook during the day. I appreciate the things that she was able to do, but we still just don't get along and most of the time it feels like I'm living with a stranger rather than a mother. She's home a lot more often now, and we're better off with money, but she's still so distant from me. I guess the point if this is please pay attention to your mother. If she wants to go shopping with you or go to the movies with you, go with her, because some people, whether they're in Ryan's situation or my situation, don't get those chances.

My grandma is the one who taught me to cook. She used to let me throw whatever I wanted into a pot and just go with it. One summer, she and I made a dish everyday out of a cookbook until we finished the whole thing. We would sit and laugh and she'd tell me stories about her life and how my mom was as a kid. I learned everything about food from her and she's the biggest reason I fell in love with cooking and decided to go to culinary school. She passed away about 5 years ago and I still get very emotional whenever I talk about her. Knowing she's the reason I discovered my dream is the sorta thing you can never repay someone for. She was truly and angel and I'm positive your mother was too. Loved the video. x

    Ryan ,
Thank you so much for this video . When I was young , I too lost my mother. I can't even explain the hole it's created in my life . Nobody I knew growing up dealt with the same . I always felt like I was missing out on something , everyone had their mother except me . And many kids bullied me over the fact that my mother passed . I'm a freshman in high school and I've recently stopped talking to one of my closest friends for bulling my over my mom . This video truly made me feel so much better. I can not thank you enough . You give me someone to relate to , I feel like I'm not alone . I know this may sound dumb but , thank you . Thank you . Thank you . I love you .

Thank you for making this video, it made me think of my grandmother, especially since her death anniversary is coming up. One of my favourite childhood memories is of visiting the UK (I live in Singapore) in the summer and crawling around and searching for the perfect blade of grass with my grandmother in her garden to compliment the little daisy and buttercup bouquet I put together. It may not sound very exciting, but it's a special memory of my grandmother, one that always makes me smile :)

I love you so much for this and you should be proud too. One memorie that sticks out to me is when my dad would come home from work and I would meet him near the bottom of the hill, he always went on his bike but he would always put me on the bike and push me up the hill back home, that was a good childhood memorie that I just remembered all thanks to you💜 I'm going to tell him about it when he gets back from taking the dog for a walk😂

This is my first time watching a Ryan Abe video. But my favorite memory as a kid was the first year my family let my cousin's and I go trick or treating by ourselves. We ended up running home because we caused too much mischief and hit some old mans door with a soggy news paper and he came after us. My grandmother was really angry at us that night haha! But this really really makes me feel a type of way because I almost lost my mom and grandmother this past summer. Coming so close to losing two core people in my life right before I moved away to college sucked. I'm going to start taking your advice and write good memories down. Thank you Ryan for this video.

I have just recently lost someone to cancer this past few months and it has been very hard on our family. It is tearing some people apart, while bringing people together. He was a very loved man, and it is hard to say goodbye. My great grandmother also suffered from breast cancer, and as well as my grandmother. No one wants cancer, but they realize who the real family members and friends are because they stick by your side no matter what. They didnt choose to have cancer, they were born with it. I am deeply sorry for your loss, shes in a better place, to watch over you and be your guardian angel. She may not be here in person, but she still is very live in your soul!

About a week ago my grandpas cancer got very bad again. A few days before he passed I got to see him. I sat down next one to his bed and he gestured for my hand. He held my hand super tight and whispered I love you. My grandpa had never said I love you to me before. Maybe five minutes later, I was still holding his hand and I realized that our hands looked exactly the same. This was one of the most special days of my life.

Before my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease once a month he would take my brother, sisters, and I on what we called "Adventure Day" were us kids would get to choose what we did all day, like going to chuck cheese or Interskate 91. Also I am really grateful that you made this video because many people are going through/have gone through losing members if their family and friends, and they all would have needed this so much. I think your mother is a wonderful person for writing that book in her last chapter of her life, she must've known what you were going through. I spent a lot of this video simply crying. I lost my grandad to a brain tumour that spread all over his body when i was nine. He died on New Year's Day which was also his birthday. He'd wished to be with his momma again and three hours later he got that wish. He would forget who we were, who he was. He had to drink out of a baby cup and have his food mashed up cause the cancer mixed in with his autism reduced him down to the mental age of a one year old if I remember correctly. The doctors never told him he had cancer but i think he caught on eventually, my grandma's not very good at whispering. I hate it because sometimes i find myself forgetting and i don't want to forget, i want to move on yes but i never want to forget the man that wore one brown sock and one green sock on a Wednesday because it reminded him the was coming over to see me. I never want to forger the man who pushed me on the swings in my backyard. I never want to forget one of the men in my life that i loved most

I have a always had a HUGE passion for soccer, ever since I could remember, I would be kicking a ball around somewhere. And it is a thing that takes my mind off of everything, being a goalkeeper, (the position that I have become since age 6-7) I just love it so much and I hope to go as far as I can with soccer.
