We've just lost our father earlier this year. Now everything has little meaning to me. Why? Because he wasn't just my father, but also my mentor and best friend. Everything I do now is just not the same, because he's not here for me to share it with him. I live each day as if I'm on autopilot, just going through the motions. Grief won't kill you immediately, but will sap from you the will to keep living. Now that I've sought help, life doesn't seem so bleak, and I'm actually learning to enjoy things again without feeling depressed or guilty. I can enjoy the things we used to do together, only now I'm enjoying these things for both of us since he's gone, but I know he's still here with me. If your grief is overwhelming after your loss, get some help. You don't need to endure this alone. Because your loved one would want you to continue living with joy and happiness, not grief and despair. So reach out for help, and don't reject the help other friends and loved one offer you. That is what your loved one would want for you, and that is to live for both of you since they cannot.

Hi dear Patrick, I was sending this message, for a friend. And I had curious, to read your story. My English is not perfect, but, my heart is.
So, I wanted to wishing for you, that continues fighting dear Patrick. Reminds as you said, the good things that you learned and shared with him.
And, as your mentor, no doubt that he wish that you continues fighting, as a true warrior. Please, stop talk about guilty, remove these bad thoughts, from your mind forever and ever...
Just the time, will give more acceptance, more strongly.
And, just to finish, reminds that he continues with you, in spirit, cheering for your best. Please, don't give up, react, soon, your depression, will be done. Your dear father's mission, finished here. But, yours, not. The life don't stop! So, please, ask help in many ways, but, never give up,ok!
Lots blessings, be stronger, and remember, that he wish you happy, removing the rocks from your way, and following ahead, always.
Accept my condolences, and hugs, doesn't matter, who you are. Take care!
Blessings! FATHER GOD, ITS WITH YOU, BELIEVE!

Abigail Ketchem You are most welcome Abigail, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss; I know how difficult it can feel dealing with the loss of someone so close. Many of us out here have faced the same it is regrettable to have to admit. All I can say is to express yourself as you need to, be who you feel you need to.

snaggletooth bastard Indeed. Its been close to 2 years since my father passed. Sometimes it feels like it only happened yesterday, other days like a lifetime ago.... I suppose that It’s such a deep loss; a massive change to our life. When you consider that we knew them quite literally our entire life right up to the point that they passed; it’s something that reshapes everything.

I lost my grandmother years ago, she had raised me, to this day I still wake up early on Christmas, and my birthday and othrr holidays waiting for a phone call to come that never will, I truly am scared to lose my mother. My father spent my whole life in the army, I had never seen that man flinch, cry, or anything until the night the phone call came in and his mother had passed, it went from this soldier always picking me up, to me carrying this soldier as he broke. Time doesn't make things easier. You learn to move on, and live without, but a part of you is always gone.

    • @WestleyNash
      @WestleyNash  3 года назад +6

❤️ I certainly feel your worlds.. Losing a parent is a very “altering” experience. Our entire perception of life and even ourselves is changed forever by it. For we have known them quite literally our entire lives up until that moment they passed away. So we then have to learn how to feel safe and stable again in a world we have never once known without them in it...
Though I do believe that any loving parent, no matter where they are only ever wants their children to survive and prosper. I also believe that we take them with us, spiritually in our hearts through the feelings of love we still hold for them, mentally in our minds through the memories of past happiness and in the lessons they taught us, but also physically in our bodies through genes and hereditary traits that continue to shape us through our ongoing adulthood.
My mum told me after my Dad passed that it’s okay to cry for his loss, that he’s worth every single tear. So it’s okay to feel sad, to feel lost. It’s okay to be afraid of what life looks like without them in it. It’s okay to doubt and the question our ability to survive beyond them, just so long as among all of that pain we remember to cherish the good times, the best times. That we keep in our hearts the love we have for our parents and honour the love we know they had for us. We know they want only the best for us and so in that regard they are never really gone. Simply taking a backseat to let us lead the way ❤️ My very best wishes to you and all of those you love 🎩

Unfortunately this is not always the case. My brother just wants me to move on. My father can't handle my grief and hasn't talked to me since my wife passed. I am sharing my best friend's testimony with the world with the prayer that many will come to find comfort and true peace during their grief. God bless.
      Precious Memories-By Sonya Lakey
      Family Story
Little did our family of six know that Friday evening, September 24th, 2021, would be the last night our family would be complete. We laughed together, played games, sang, and enjoyed listening as our 16-year-old son, Ethan, played the piano for us. I packed a lunch for Ethan for a church mountain hike he was going on the following day.
My mother (who was visiting from out of state) and I woke early with Ethan on Saturday morning. He hugged me and smiled, never pulling away or rushing me. He got in the car, waved, said he'd see me later and he loved me. It was hard to watch my "new driver" heading out on his own that morning. As Ethan pulled out of the gate, I turned to my mother and said, "It's just so hard letting go." Little did I know how much "letting go" I was really doing. That was the last time I saw Ethan. He did not make it home that evening.
That afternoon, a friend tried to contact my husband, leaving an urgent message to call him back. He tried several times to return the call to no avail. As we were preparing supper, an overwhelming feeling of deep concern for Ethan filled my heart. I quietly blinked back tears. I glanced out the window, half expecting to see a police officer pull up to the house, but no one arrived. However, within a few minutes, a patrol car DID pull into the driveway. In my heart, I feared the worst. My husband and I went out to meet the officer, who confirmed our fears. Hesitantly, he told us our son had fallen off of
a bluff and had succumbed to his injuries. Our hearts were crushed; they still are.
Yet, in all of our brokenness, deep, continual grief and loneliness, our family has such a blessed Hope and assurance that we will see our dear son and brother again. You see, when Ethan was a young boy, he was saved; he put his faith in Jesus alone to forgive his sins and to take him to Heaven when he died. He realized some very important truths from the Bible that he would want to share with you.
      His Story
Everyone is a sinner. Sin is any violation of God’s Law. God is holy, just and righteous, and He cannot allow sin in His presence. Ethan realized that he - like all of us - had sinned; and his sin separated Him from God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ” (Romans 3:23)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)
He understood that, because of his sin, he deserved to spend eternity in Hell.
“For the wages of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23a) [Wages: price]
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
Ethan believed that Jesus, God’s Son, paid the price for all sin when He died on the cross - because His sinless sacrifice was the only thing that could satisfy the just demands of a righteous, holy God. Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb, but He arose the third day, triumphant over sin, death, and Hell. Jesus is alive today!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Ethan was sorry for his sin, repented (turned), and received by faith the free gift that God offered to him.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
“...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
Because of this great salvation, Ethan lived his life serving Jesus. He worked hard to spread this Good News to the world. He is alive in Heaven with Jesus today; and because of this great HOPE in Christ, we know we will see him again soon - not because he was a great kid, but because of his faith in the great Saviour!
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
      Your Story
What about you? What if you had fallen to your death that day - What if you were to die today? Where will you spend eternity - Heaven or the Lake of Fire? There will not be any parties in the Lake of Fire. It is a place of eternal torment for those who reject God's Son.
The Word of God is very clear that there is only One Way to Heaven.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
We did not know that Ethan would step into eternity that day; however, because he put his faith in Jesus alone for his salvation, Ethan was ready to go. Some day - perhaps today - you will take your last breath here on earth, and you will step into eternity. Where you spend eternity is determined by what you do with Jesus Christ. Will you accept Him or reject Him? You are not promised another day or another breath. Eternity begins soon - Are you ready?
“...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31b)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
“(...behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2c)

I am also very honoured that my poem has been able to help you make a connection with your feelings. I remember how it felt so hard trying to externalise that terrible sensation of loss... I also found that once that connection has been made, we can begin our journey on trying to make sense of things... My very best wishes to you

You are very welcome Aneesha; I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my father a year ago & wrote this poem 2 days after he passed. Since then I've spoken to many who have sadly suffered the very same loss. It completely rips the foundation out your life, nothing is ever the same afterwards. But I also know that as time moves we can find strength to continue.

I am so sorry to hear about your Husband, Ann. I offer my most sincere condolences... Time does seem to be all but meaningless after suffering such a deep loss. Days and years appear interchangeable in many ways... Over the years I’ve come to believe that people only tell us it’s gets easier because they try to give us hope in a moment of despair.. I know they mean well, but reality is that it doesn’t actually get easier, and so I would say to anyone, not to expect it to. Sending my very best wishes to you Ann, stay safe

Thank you so very much for your kind words and for your beautiful poem. I know people mean to offer comfort and I’m blessed to have many continue to lend comfort and support including a gift of love my husband left for me before he passed. Some days are full of despair while others I can still see a ray of hope with the help of grief counseling and his gift. His gift - an email with a song attached - “If the sun come up” by Trace Atkins. I don’t know if you’re familiar with it but it talks about how much he cared about me and to go on living and when the sun comes up to let it shine and never lose your smile. And that song like your poem gives me hope that just maybe they’ll be a tomorrow I can look forward to. Thank you and God bless you. 🙏❤️

    With my own hands
    Who were you for me

Played video games together, went on nature trips together, and even worked together for 5 years. I watched him pass. It’s not his fault at all, but I truly feel I’ve been left behind. I’ll stay strong for my big bro, and make him proud, just like he’d always want/expect of me. We’ll see each again someday mas.

To trust that the life they have is better than what we got
It will hit again and again you will lose truck of how when it will but you dont forget and you never stop hurting it comes and goes and comes and goes again

He is alive in Heaven with Jesus today; and because of this great HOPE in Christ, we know we will see him again soon - not because he was a great kid, but because of his faith in the great Saviour!

And we'll all have to face it someday, and every of our love ones we’ve loss will always want to see us happy again wherever they’re. I loss my oldest daughter Annabel February 24th 2020 in a crucial car accident, and she just turned 22 on her last birthday before she got knocked down by a moving vehicle 🚗 and so unlucky for me that horrible day the driver was drunk. That was the worst and most lamenting day of my whole life as a single Dad raising two kid's, my 17 years old son Clark and my 4 legged 🐶 families are my everything and the reason I still keep strong, and keep going! My late wife passed away three years ago from a shocking disease, I felt devastated with grief, and I was so heartbroken 💔 but God and time are indeed the best healers. Hope you’ve found peace, comfort and happiness again?

    I love you Grandma,
I understand why you're gone, but now I feel so alone
This distance is killing me, guess I'll just have to let you be
Cancer was not you, still all along it was there so long with you too
Now there, in Heaven, you are living painless, yet you left me to be a mess
Guess it was our egoism, keeping you here for so long in this world like a prison
I just hope you look down to me, and you are proud of who I some day am going to be
You will always and forever be loved, listen to the dark days when we whisper your name so soft

I will always miss her as we had a lot in common and her voice on the phone was so upligting. In my eighties I know there is no help. ☹️That’s so touching and I know how it feels to be lonely without our love ones, we've all loss our love ones in death one way or the other, either a spouse, child, family members, or a true friend that meant the world to us, such is life I truly understand how you feel cos I’ve felt same unbearable experiences before but death is just inevitable no matter how hard we try!
I'd love to talk to you more if you don't mind! So it would be nice to get a reply from you when you got time okay. 🌹🌹

David Ben Hi David, I am so very sorry to hear about your Mum, you truly have my sincerest & deepest condolences... I dare say it probably feels a bit like time has kind of stopped still for you right now, like the world still turns but without you in it. When my father died last year that’s exactly how it felt; it’s the feeling of emptiness that I struggled with the most I think.
Im not sure if you need it or not, but I suppose the best advice I can offer you is to just be kind to yourself, be patient; allow yourself to feel as you need & to grieve as you need to. Permit the feelings to present without judging yourself harshly for having them. Recovery, I have found is a path of ongoing healing; one of little by little, always moving forward.

    ♡ Reasons to live ♡
1.It's not worth the regret. Either by yourself if you failed or just simply left scars, or the regret everyone else feels by not doing enough to help you.
2.It does get better. Believe it or not it will eventually get better. 3.Sometimes you have to go through the storm to get to the rainbow.

Westley, thank you for the comment on my spoken poem today. I did reply to you and it also inspired me to get out of my myopic mind and jump over here to listen to you read this poem. It's so beautiful and soulful, my friend. I can hear your heart in your voice. I also, as many of us probably do, relate so much to how you feel in this. What is it to walk around without this person we love who passed. Gorgeously expressed and done. I am so glad I came over here to witness. I am very moved by this. Thank you.

My Mom passed last July and I still feel so alone. The man I had hoped to live the rest of my life with committed suicide just shortly after his birthday in March. That was before my Mom. It feels like a dagger is still in my heart. Suicide dosent solve the problem it just makes it worse for the ones left behind. My Mom died of cancer.

Very beautiful poem! 😍💓 I felt this way when my true love rejected me and left me in a cold silence, a silence that was killing me slowly...
It was as if I loved a ghost...at that time I thought that life had lost all interest for me and I wanted to die...The suffering I went through was worse than the one I had when my mum and my brother died. I was saved by my guides, angels and nature...I was meditating a lot near the river and the friendship of my kingfisher friend Martin helped me a lot. Martin was the only one who managed to give me joy. Little by little hope came back. My faith and I became stronger. Now I know my true love and I will never be separated...we will be reunited and I'm confident about the future...these last weeks, I feel all the love he's sending me...I'm always connected to him and I've always sent him my love because I know he was going through a spiritual path too...I love you Bastien💓🔥💓🔥✨🌈🌟🌞🌝🦋🐦😽
    LEFT BEHIND...
I'd never ever felt this way since you had to say goodbye, a feeling of loss so intense it's like I actually might die.
I can't eat, I can't sleep, your face is all that I see. My chest feels so tight that sometimes I can't even breathe.
For its not like you've just moved from one town to the next, where you've gone I cannot follow unless I take drastic steps.
Just carrying on as normal feels like I'm saying that I don't care. But I don't know what else to do. My god this isn't fair!
I'm told I need to get through this, that things get easier in time. But it's the worst feeling I've ever known, to be the one who's left behind...

I lost my grandmother a few years ago from heart failure and I sometimes cry when I think about her and I often dream that she is still alive and then I remember that she is not living anymore. On the other hand, I mainly think about how much I loved her and that she always loved me back. Even after death she is still loved.
