An awesome tour of Boston in Lincolnshire is another nice town/city with the most beautiful buildings especially the the Market Place, the church and the places to eat, drink and shop at thanks for another fantastic video walk. 🇬🇧👋👋🇬🇧
... it has some interesting things in it absolutely, the stump, a few buildings around the market place... but cross the river and you are in what I can only describe as the most depressing slum I've ever been in...and the 'bus station' 😂😂😂😂, two seats and shelters for 10 bays?.... not a time table in sight.
@@Rich10000 Quite a few new builds have gone up recently around Boston, the housing market should be fairly vibrant around here. Employment, on the other hand, is fairly weak, depending on what you're looking for, I suppose. There are always jobs going in packhouses or the fields; the majority of work in this area is agricultural. If, however, you have a degree and wish to utilise it, you may find your options limited. There aren't many graphic designers in the area, for instance. As for lifestyle, Boston has some issues with heavy immigration into the area. If you're coming from London, this would seem inconsequential. If you're coming from a small village, or reasonably homogenous town, you may notice it more. Some of our older locals feel scared to go into the town centre after dark (our crime rates are a lot higher than they used to be, and we are now seeing murders on a yearly basis). However, in general, the town is still a decent enough place to go out for an evening with the family. A few decent restaurants, a few decent pubs, a few decent chippys. Some good culture and history (the church is the most magnificent parish church you'll ever see) and, in general, a friendly nature to most people. If you do decide to move this way, I hope you enjoy your time in Boston/Spalding, and if prior to moving you have any further questions regarding the area, I would be happy to answer them for you.
Lived in Boston from 72 to 83 as a kid. I know its changed a lot as other places have, but I still have a lot of good memories here. Thanks for the video, great work
St Botolph's is magnificent. I've only been inside once, years ago in the run up to Xmas. It was lovely and atmospheric. It's a parish church, but is big enough to be a cathedral.
I drive through Boston a couple of times a year, coming up from London, but never have time to see it, because I'm on my way to East Kirkby, a few miles down the road, the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, where they run and taxy a ww2 Lancaster bomber.
I was brought up as a Child from Boston the Stump is a fantastic sight & there is tours up the Tower Boston Park is a lovely Park too with a lovely walk & a Bird Avery to look at . Now when I lived in Boston as a Child there was apparently a old Medieval Tale that there was a Tunnel found from Boston Grammar School Library (Very Old Building) to Rochford Tower & it must of been an incredibly long tunnel ( A Few Miles )has anyone else heard of this ? Let's Hope Kind Mr Kimball can find his way to Woodall Spa & he maybe pleasantly surprised what he finds 😂
Interesting comment. I used to have A level English literature classes in the Grammar School library but never heard about the tunnel! Sounds like something to explore...👍
@@alea_iacta_est.rubicon if your a Bostoneer & you can find out more on this story there was alot of local gossip on this subject in the Fishtoft village area in the 1970's were Accent Rochford Tower is located
I enjoyed the video it looks a lovely place enjoyed the walk around the church which was lovely hope you are alright I'm sorry I've not left any messages but I've not been very well and also busy keep up the good work
On market day it used to be full of stalls from one end of town to the other and you couldn't move, as you can see in your video there's hardly any there now
Just one small correction, that part of the river is called the Haven, the Witham is further down past the 'stump' and over the next bridge. I loved this video, there is definitely a lot more.to see, and all so close to where you walked 😀
As a qualified architect, I'm into ecclesiology big time and I've always wanted to see Boston and it's famous church. The tower is so high because it was used as a lookout for ships apparently. How strange that the bird 🐦 feeder, goes into the church, which she has helped to damage, by not reading the notice and feeding the birds 🙄🤷. It ( Boston )looks a lovely place to explore.
@@chrismorris2142 maybe in the past, now it's just full of illegal immigrants and drug addicts the place looks disgusting, I lived there 10 years ago, went back last year and it's such a shame what's happened to the place.
You are NOT SHOWING the real Boston here. I have lived here 40 years and when you go into town you see no-one you know just Romanians and Bulgarians. It got invaded by the polish 20 years ago and now they are leaving because of the kets say different kind of people that have decided to accept the government's offer to invade. You see many Turkish and iraqi driving around in 40k cars and 90% of shops are none British. If you wanted to see the future of GREAT BRITAIN 😂 COME TO BOSTON im sure you will gear up and be ready to do what needs to be done.

I'm thinking about moving there, how would you remcommend it in terms of life and employment?
@@Rich10000 Are you still considering moving to Boston? Won't bother writing a long reply re: employment and lifestyle if you've changed your mind.
@@danielshagman hi Daniel yes I am looking like a radius around Spalding area most houses seem to be in Boston

Amazed to see how similar it looks to parts of Boston Massachusetts

Thanks for the correction - I didnt know that - that's very much appreciated!
A nice place 20 years ago, only thing left is the beautiful historic buildings. Hardly any market or decent shops left it’s a shame.
Looks nice but just go and have a look😮
@@Dayda-7 , is it not a good idea to move there ?? Sorry is far to expensive to live . Was thinking ,maybe would be a good idea to move there 🤔
Nice to see it all again..wish I never left..sadly..too old and too later for another move...
You missed the main shopping area along Bargate and Pescod Square. Also Wormgate is fascinating.
Thank you will have a look at those next time!
Nice, but i was hoping you would show us the Docks area ...
Next time
I'm unsure what access is allowed around the Docks area it was extremely strict at one time due to a fatal accident with a 14 year old boy

You should!
How come media saying how its a no go area for police
It depends what media you listen to
The 100% truth is it isn’t
Police patrol all over the area just fine
The Town where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average. Wonderful townsfolk.
Agreed!

FFS if that's boston it's no wonder the founding fathers left for the Americas 😅😅😅

Boston yeah a grand history had lost a lot of character over the years how its future is going to turn out is anyone's guess 😢.
