Please be aware, that in most cases, the price is NOT the reason, why a horse is expensive. You have to be able to pay for the ongoing expenses that come with a horse. Stable fees, feed, vet and so on. Those costs add up to more than the initial purchase in less than 2 years for a healthy, trained horse for leisure riding at a nice age. And horses become 20-30 years without problem. So, think about those costs, not about the sales price. If your budget is to small, save a year or two all the money, you would have spend on that horse and add that to your budget. If you can't do that, you cannot afford a horse, not even, if someone gifted you one!
Hey you! You probably have never heard of the « Cheval canadien » ("Canadian Horse"_. Its history is much like the Mustang's history and now they are no more a "threatened breed", they sell for very reasonable prices, specially if you buy them wuth US dollars...
Mustangs are NOT hard to train and Appaloosas are not cheap at all. They are very popular and can bring a high cost due to their patterning. The most desirable being the blanketed Appy. Then the Leopard Appy. I've owned two of those great horses. Both were a bit on the spicy side but they work it right out when we'd go for a ride. Both breeds are very intelligent and willing. You do have to work for their respect but once they trust and respect you,you have a friend for life.
@@myfeatheryfriends I didnt mean to sound arrogant. :} I just watch these type of videos and get a bit ruffled when they put out misinformation. I'm just an old person who has had many horses throughout her life and broke many too. I've been around them since I was five and I'm 69 now.
Boarding? 200?where? Here basic full care is going at 1000 to 1500 pm, hay is 20 a bale, unless u get coastal for 10,and vet care? I just spent 250 on some booster shots and bute, forget about it if they get sick or colic... 😂 Up north in a tiny corn town it was 450pm and didn't include alot even for full care. As for cheap horses? No horse is cheap... Not now. And if ur saving money buying them you won't trisning them, if u can't do it yourself. Training board can be 2500... Or 30 to 100 an hour per ride and you get what you pay for with it. And there r horses you can get outright for free. I got my standy for free from his trainer and I backed and trained him myself because most of them are not ever ridden like you show here. Fyi no horse breed is better for a specific grade of rider. All breeds have dif temperaments in them so you have to go by that not breed....
I am VERY aware of the maintence to keep a horse and I do know what its costs to keep one.Buying is the easy part I could not afford to keep one but that will never stop me worshiping them or wanting one

It's maintenance that is costly. Feed, stableing, annual vet care, farrier every 5-6 wks. Saddle/bridle, etc.

If you are not rich you cannot afford a horse and it is not fair if you cannot afford to keep them
