The matter for urgency in this video, as proposed by Senator Nick McKim and moved by Senator Larissa Waters was:
"That the government has already approved five new coal projects this year despite the International Energy Agency's warning that we must immediately stop approving new coal projects if we are to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels."

Ludicrous to bring up fire alerts as reason not to mine more coal. Take a tiny pinch of renewable subsidy and actuslly let the rural fire service backburn properly.

I live in SEQ ..& had to put the doona back on the bed as the temperatures dropped in last few days .. where were these measurements taken and under what circumstances. Convenient she says 1910 as the 3 January, 1909 Bourke records showed 51.7c🤔 Had a trip to beach today oh guess what it was a bit chilly in the shade and water was no where near boiling 🤔 as for the hottest winter - codswallop
