Thanks so much for posting this. You’re an absolute legend. I’ve got a 2003 v6 prado like yours. Went to the shops yesterday and as about to leave, car went silent and wouldn’t even turn over. Called roadside assistance and diagnosed as starter motor. Being nearly Christmas, most mechanics are shut. I followed your instructions and just replaced my starter motor and now I can go own my road trip as planned. Can’t thank you enough for the educational video. Keep it up!
I just launched a website if you want to read/see more.

Love the video some more detail on unplugging the plug and get the top nut/bolt off Would make this video even better but still good video 👍

Thank you!!
I’m doing exactly this , this week
Wicked job mate!
Thanks alot for posting this video.
Is it much the same for changing the starter motor off a 91 hilux surf 2.4 turbo diesel
yeh mate, they're all pretty similar, might be a different location
What is the reason you change starter ?
why don't you disconnect the battery first?
I probably did but forgot to include it! Whoops
I’m having a lot of trouble getting the 17 mm nuts off
Mine were hard too! Be patient until you get the best angle
