Been canvassing myself and a friend for the past seven nights 5 till 730 got 38 new customers cleaned half last Monday cleaning the rest tommorow been an eye opener to be honest back out tomorrow 👍🏽
I’ve had a few shy helpers and I always asked them to canvass while I work on the first few houses. It’s amazing how their confidence grows after getting a few new jobs.
Great advice as usual. When we started the misses used to work with me. Some of our best streets came from her knocking the doors while I cleaned. It always helped having a lady especially with nervous women. We would clean the new customers straight away so if the husband got home and said he would do them we had at least earned something from it. 👍
Thanks for the video mate. I've just moved to Wales from Scarborough, England. Still travelling back to do my work once a month so if started canvassing here. Picked up £150 regular work in 11 hours so it's paying off. Thanks for motivation as I'm going out again in this crap weather.
Great vid and info as always. Thanks for the motivation to get out door knocking, now this lockdown is opening ,I feel confident enough to go door knocking, starting in a while. This will be another eye opener along this great learning curve. Been going 10 weeks in total so far. Up to 36 regular customers atm. LETS GO GET SOME MORE!
good videos sir! Waiting for my pooles and filters to arrive so i can start my own thing in Romania . This info is very useful and well said . Keep the good work going!
Everytime I get a new job on a new road. I get one of the lads to post leaflets to neighbours and around 10 houses on the new road. While I'm cleaning the new house. Only takes 5 mins
I used to do 6-8 and then day as I worked the area...some people want to observe your work and see you're going to stick around before employing your services
I’ve had some leaflets printed up and am ready to start canvassing but I’m not confident about knocking on doors at all. I am just going to post them but will this limit my goals
But if most houses already have a window cleaner how do you compete (other than lowering price). Let’s be honest most houses are already covered by another window cleaners patch. Any advice?
Can I ask you this.. How did you ever manage when sick? Say you ain’t been able to be on the job first hand yourself, an your have a lad that’s worked for a long long time an knows your routine inside out. Basically trying to keep it short he started canvassing an keeping house’s for himself until I found out an was sacked. How do u manage such a big team without the wrong ones always trying too make a few qwid rip u off, or even try and take your houses u already have?
On the sick part I seem to be blessed, perhaps 2 days a year with some 'Flu' type shit. As for trusted lads, they're only trusted till they're not. As for keeping them honest on the earnings front - if you have say an £80 gutter clean to get done but your schedule is jammed I would give it to them to do as overtime - they could keep £60 and give me £20 for using my ladders etc. Seemed to keep everyone happy.

Really good points Darren. You've put a fair bit of thought into that 😉
Great vid, like your style.
I appreciate your advice thanks pal 👍

Thanks for the advice!
Great video, do you find it's better to go in the evening say between 6-8 so people are home from work?
I used to do 6-8 and then day as I worked the area...some people want to observe your work and see you're going to stick around before employing your services
In the summer that's fine but never after dark.
Always great

Its a very short answer and sorry to say it's yes.

Do you still ‘knock the doors’ Darren?

Look through my videos and find the one about 'Yes Please' Cards - Still effective today - also never compete on price - only quality of service.

Good stuff
If you do, better keep off my patch mate.
Lol! Your patch? You're lucky we leave you those scraps!! 😉😁
