Excellent video as always Dr.! As someone who isn’t in academia, how do you know when you have read enough (if there’s such a thing) to begin writing? When are you aware you’ve crossed the threshold from activist researcher to true academic?
Thank you. I read generally and then specifically if I am working on a book. I have never reached a point where I felt I had read enough. I don’t think there are a true or non true academics: all follow different modes of doing their work. Some of the best political and philosophical works have been produced by people who were also activists: Foucault, Deleuze, Spivak, Said, Fanon to name a few.
Yes! Especially reading the primary source text.
Thank you. Yes, basically reading everything relevant to your research topic.
🙏 I find the videos useful for an overview of the subject. But you’re correct that that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Thank you. Yes, I think it’s a good start but one must read as much as possible.

Thx a lot doctor.will you plz talk about Ecocriticism?
Thank you. Maybe, after I have read enough on it.
Activist researchers have spoiled academic scholarship these days. What's your suggestion sir.
Thank you. I don’t think so but my scholarship has always been political anyway.
