I remember it was 1980 and my 1972 caprice classic 1/24 scale model had hydros, front back and side to side, I was twelve and nobody could touch my model skills for hydros, I miss being a kid

They build them from model car kits all the raised suspension is hand built an the servos an motor to hop are added in by the builder as well
