◆平野神社について
平野神社は平安時代に創建されたとされる由緒ある神社で、京都の桜の名所として知られています。
例年桜が咲く時期に一般公開され、さまざまな桜が鑑賞できます。
平野神社の桜苑は985年に花山天皇がサクラの木を手植えしたことがはじまりとされています。
以降、桜の名所と称され、江戸時代には「平野の夜桜」として一般庶民にも普及していきました。
現在では桜とともに菜の花も植えられ、ピンクと黄色のビタミンカラーが元気を与えてくれます。
現在境内に約60種400本の桜が植栽され、約1か月半の長い期間、桜の花見が楽しめるそうです。

The cherry blossom garden at Hirano Shrine is said to have its origins in 985, when Emperor Hanayama planted cherry trees by hand.
Since then, it has been called a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing, and in the Edo period it became popular among the general public as the ``night cherry blossoms of the plains''.
Nowadays, rapeseed flowers are planted along with cherry blossoms, and the vitamin colors of pink and yellow give you energy.
There are currently 400 cherry blossoms of 60 different varieties planted within the shrine grounds, and you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing for about a month and a half.
