Stevo, what are you using the thicker pieces of the pallet for? Would it not make good handles by ripping it down? I know you would have to watch out for nails or staples.
@@AmericansBee I buy two 2x8x10 ft at a time and get 12 - 5 frame nuc boxes from that. By using pallet wood for sides the nucs only cost me $3.00 per box for the wood. Nice box at a very cheap price!
@@stevesoutdoorworld4340 yeah I plan to buy the 2x8’s when I need more. I had these big ones laying around forever!!! Lol. What are you using for the lids? Plywood?
Question? Why wouldn't you just cut the width of the boards on your table saw? The width is the same every time instead of that desk top work. I don't know haven't started yet ,but thanks for saving me money. I have noticed that on job sites that a lot of material like the 2x10s are thrown in the dumpster from rafters and floor joyce cut offs , like you say Steve'O a penny saved is a penny earned. Keep that ole brain aworkin LOL.Thanks for your time
This is the best practical woodworking vid I've seen in a long time.
Thank you!
First!!!!! You better be careful and not scratch Miss Daisy's truck!!!!! Great Idea!!!
If i did i may die!
Nice looking boxes!
Thinking about coating the seam with bee wax would be a good idea?
What type of saw are you using to cut through the nails on the pallet. Thanks.
I don't cut the nails.
I'm think about plugging the nail holes with bondo or auto body filler, dries in seconds and very hard..I pull all the nails in my pallets
Hey Old Dave no need to plug them holes because the bee can plug them faster than you can! 😁

Too many nails in them Don but i may make small stands for the 5 frame nucs.
Steve-O, I just cut like 20 pallets worth of boards. I have a stack bigger than a wine barrel!!! Lol
LOL Good job Bro! I too have been making them nucs and i like them!
@@stevesoutdoorworld4340 today I’ll be cutting my 2x12’s to size and making then end boards

@@AmericansBee I already have a bunch of tops but i may try to come up with a pallet wood top.
O u make the outter covers also?
U stand pallets up against ur tail gate then what?… how do remove the boards?
Hey David i use a pallet buster bar to take off the boards and have vids on that.
Do you make the frames too?
Steve
What are you using for the tops and bottoms? You may have said if the video, but I didn’t catch that.
I have plywood in stock for lids and i use screen for bottoms.
@@stevesoutdoorworld4340 great! Love your videos! Thanks!

I find it easy to just trim off the extra wood. Yes lots of good free wood from dumpster diving but make sure you ask first.
I did something like this a month ago with plans from Woodglut.
I have never heard of Woodgult!
@@stevesoutdoorworld4340 You should try Woodglut plans. You can get your money back if you don't like it
Scammer!
I went to wood glut they are trying to sell their stuff.
