Rep. Smucker Questions Medicare, Social Security Officials About Solvency

Rep. Lloyd Smucker questions officials with the Centers for Medicare and the Social Security Administration about their programs' solvency and ability to support individuals who have paid into and will be relying on the programs, during a June 13, 2024 hearing of the House Budget Committee.

Medicare and social security should be brought into a 100% covered condition. Neither should Non-citizens who have not paid a dime into this system be receiving any coverage from this system. We (the people) have contributed to this fund in addition to our employers with every check we earned. There should be no shortfall of this system, and the government can put back in the amounts given to non-contributing persons out of government funds to make it solvent. There is no question on this at all.
