Hi Trevs, I did similar settings to yours with a little difference and the results were great. I would use smaller lens with very low fstop as well as a small LED ring light with a diffuser, you'll get a sharper, clearer and more detailed pictures. I am right now working on a tinier lens which will accommodate a tiny prism to be used for under BGA chip inspection. Thank you for sharing and good luck.
I think now in 2023 that's actual. I wasted so much money for crap microscopes, now thinking to try something like this, not so important different useless parameters, I need fast response on the screen to coordinate my hands and get decent working distance

I used jvc HD camera model hm300se with makro lens +10 and works good. Chęci my video.
