It's like Billy and Steve were like brothers. So close and such a great casting. A really great film. I was born in Feb 1951, 25 days after Steve Prefontaine was born. I remember his running well after I competed in HS track in the Philadelphia area.
I did not know Pre but he inspired me as a track athlete in 1971. I kept up with Pre’s progress during that time as much as I could and Billy believe me, from what I learned about “Pre” Steve Prefontaine, you did not do him an injustice in the movie. You definitely brought it home for him on the big screen. Far as I’m concerned you deserved an Oscar. I have the movie and watch it often.
