That’s true!
First , Miley talked to Vogue in her interview that the primal lyrics was like “…i can take myself dancing and i can hold my own hand , but i CAN’T love me better than you can” so I don’t remember what was the exact reason she finally decided to change the lyrics if there was any explanation tho but anyways we’re all still human and we’ll always need someone to love , to dance with and so on. It actually doesn’t make any sense “to hold my own hand “ like how do we imagine that? Ahahahah that’s nonsense. Even life is easier nowadays so we don’t need someone to take care of each other , to build up a shelter and all that stuff ahahah Basically you can live alone and you’ll survive but love and giving and taking are undeniable forever even if you have money and you love yourself
