A voice like that coming out of a 15 year old mouth? ASTONISHING. I'm @ a true loss for words. Her voice ranks high among opera singers that I know of. I'd like to hear more. And more. O.M.G. she's looking @ a great singing career here. A very fortunate girl to have such a "VOICE"................Astounding, simply jaw dropping.

This girl's voice is extraordinary - can't believe she's only 15. When she sings that high note so pure and clear without any hint of harshness, I get goosebumps!

Anastasia Lee might enjoy some female contralto Baroque coloratura work by French contralto Delphine Galou. You Tube has three songs she sings from Nicola Porpora's opera Semiramide riconosciuta. The are 1. Tradita prezzata 2. Il pastor se torna aprile 3. Voi non spete quanto and the lively 4. Fuggi dagli occhi miei. Delphine also has five up tempo arias from Antonio Vivaldi's 1719 opera Teuzzone. They are 1. Con palme ed allori 2. Aria per lacerio 3. Un'aura lusinghiera 4. Ti sento, si ti sento and 5. La timida cervetta. You tube also has Delphine singing a slower aria from Teuzzone entitled "Guarda in quest'occhie senti". Baroque coloratura music is unique, charming and difficullt whether done by a soprano like Teodora Gheorghiu or a velvety contralto like Delphine Galou.

Researching the web for what musicians your age have done in the past I came across the opera Lucio Silla written by Mozart when he was 15. The is led me to a CD by coloratura soprano Teodora Gheorghiu which had a dozen arias originally sung by Mozart's favorite coloratura soprano Anna de Amicis-Buonsolazzi . Two of them are from Lucio Silla and were written specifically for Anna. They are "Parto m'affretto" and "Ah se il crudel periglio". Also delightful are the up tempo arias "Tortorella abbandonata" by Johann Christian Bach and "Aria di Mirteo: In braccio mille furie" by Nicola Purpore. What does Anastasia think of this 250 year old Baroque music? Coloratura soprano singing sounds difficult and complex to me.

What a beautiful voice. I especially love your upper register and your interpretive skills. The lower register sounded darker than I would appreciate but I am just a fan, not any kind of music critic. Thanks Anastasia, and please keep singing. We need beautiful voices like yours.

Coloratura contralto Delphine Galou also does a great job on three songs from Handel's Messiah. They are 1. He was despised 2. If God be for us 3. Behold a virgin shall conceive to thou that tellest good tidings to Zion and 4. Thou art gone up on high. You can see Delphine in costume singing the aria "Gia che morir non posso" as Zenobia in Handel's opera Radamisto.

I found out who originally sang the song "Piu Che Puoi" that contralto Svetlana Vinnik sang with such power on the Ukraine XFactor show. French singer Eros Ramazzotti sang it with Cher back in 2001. I found out my two favorite female opera singers both lost talent competitions when they were teenagers. Mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca couldn't get into the local drama school. She originally wanted to be an actress but her musician parents begged her to try music. She then tried out for a singing competition and lost to a tenor. She said it was good for her because she got to perform in front of a big audience and losing made her work harder. Coloratura soprano Teodora Gheorghiu was a flute player until she was 12. She tried singing because flute playing made her too nervous and she found singing relaxing. Teodora got kicked out of a choir because her voice was too strong. She then lost a solo singing competition but was called back because one of the judges, a famous tenor, thought she should have won and gave her a scholarship to a music conservatory equal to the first prize money in the competition. Both Elina and Teodora sang lead roles with the Vienna Opera for several years which they found both personally and financially rewarding. After you sing with the Vienna opera you are considered an opera star in Europe.

Really brilliant, in a very special way! This is definitely not my favourite rendition of this song. The intimate and sensual connotation of the latin original is somehow 'reduced' to a pure and clean opera technique. I think it sounds a bit artificial, albeit technically brilliant and: what a voice, wow!

This is still one of your best songs. With your exquisite taste in both music and formal attire it would be interesting to hear your opinion of Lily James who starred in the new Disney live action movie Cinderella. What do you thing of her ball gown and her singing of "A Dream is a wish your heart makes" on the two minute trailer for the movie. The Disney people apparently didn't know she could sing. They did three trailers before she stepped in to sing this song on the fourth trailer which is heard during the ending credits and not during the movie.

Well if you range is 4 octaves, it should comprise both low notes of a mezzo and high notes of a soprano. Do you have videos here where you go above the stuff in C6 and above range? Cecilia Bartoli is classified as a mezzo soprano by the way, but there are videos of her here where she goes as high as E6. Operatic mezzos usually have a B5, often a C6. You have a beautiful voice by the way, really beautiful. Do you plan to continue with crossover or do you consider training for opera or both?

It would be fun to hear Anastasia Lee sing the "Abendsegen" duet from Hansel and Gretel with Jackie Evancho with Anastasia Lee singing the part sung by Elina Garanca when she sang it on RUclips.

    • @johnculley7850
      @johnculley7850 10 лет назад

When you have a powerful soprano like Jackie Evancho singing a duet like Abendsegen you need a huge Mezzo Soprano voice to overcome the natural advantage always enjoyed by the higher soprano voice. Anastasia Lee would have to "pull out all the stops" the way Elina Garanca does to keep from being overpowered by the soprano. It is fascinating to watch Elina Garanca keep up with soprano Anna Netrebko when they sing Offenbach's "Barcarola" and Delibes' "Flower duet". You can see Anna relax when she dives into the low notes knowing there is a big mezzo-soprano voice supporting her. It is interesting watch Elina Garanca hold nothing back when she sings three versions of "Chanson Boheme" from Carmen. The way she uses her mouth to project her voice can be seen in the close up version. If Anastasia Lee keeps growing and practicing, it won't be long until she can also toss her microphone back to the orchestra with the words "Go ahead! Make my day!"

***** Speaking of throwing down the gauntlet, the performance of Elina Granca I referred to above was with her husband and his orchestra. It is on You Tube as an excerpt from a 2006 Austrian documentary entitled "Eine Sangerin, naturlich!" It appears that ladies serious about singing must now prepare themselves for the day their musician/conductor husband and father of their children respectfully asks them to hold nothing back in a joint performance. Who do you think is more nervous, Elina or her husband? Elina sings "Mon couer s'ouvre a ta voix" from Act 2 of Camille Saint-Saens' opera Samson and Dalila on her album entitled Romantique. You might think of your senior prom when you watch Elina sing this song on You Tube at the 2011 Opern Ball in Vienna. I wonder if this wonderful mezzo soprano melody would work for Anastasia Lee.

Watch Elina Garanca challenge an entire orchestra by using only their microphones as she makes a grand entrance and walks through the orchestra while singing in the You tube video entitled "Elina Garanca sings Chanson Boheme from Carmen by Bizet". She is wearing a tan/gray, off one shoulder gypsy looking dress. You are one young singer I could see doing this in a couple years if you keep studying, practicing and singing. I love the take charge look on her face.

You do such a good job on this song you might look at the work of mezzo soprano Elina Garanca. She specializes in songs from Carmen like Seguidille, Habanera and Chanson Boheme (Gypsy Song). She also does Granada and you can also find her doing (1) "De Espana vengo" El nino judio (2) Al pensar en eldeuno de mis amores and (3) "Cancio de Paloma" El barberilla de Lavapies. It is fascinating how she save the giant notes for the very end of her songs. Note how she uses her mouth.

The only young opera singer I have seen try the big curtsy on a talent show is Patricia Janeckova singing "Sancta Maria". I think she does it pretty quickly but I understand ballerinas do it more slowly only because their legs are so strong. You might also enjoy watching Patricia sing "Dancing Queen" while she up upstages the beauty queen who won "The Face of the Year Competition 2012". The producers really blew it! Patricia appears to have had some experience of her own in beauty contests.

God-given talent is a phrase thats often over-used, but it absolutely applies to you. I came across your site after reading your comment about The Waltons Theme. Very glad I did. You have a rich, unique, mature and gorgeous voice, and your delivery and command staggers me that you are only fifteen. The fact that you are self taught leaves me speechless, so its just as well I am writing this. You are bound for great success, of that I am certain. Subscribed.

Have you ever thought of writing your own words to some classical instrumental melody? Sarah Brightman has sung at least two songs where this was done, Figlio Peduto (Beethoven's 7th symphony) and Stranger in Paradise (Borodin's Polovetsian Dances). Florence Henderson did this with some of Edvard Grieg's melodies in her movie Song of Norway. Faryl Smith did it with one of Strauss' waltzes which she called, "River of Light".

Lady singers often find it easier to get attention if they have some sort of unusual gimmick. Charlotte got Jonathan, with his voice like a Saturn V moon rocket (she should have done a countdown in their first performance). Have you tried your voice with a sax trio (alto, tenor, baritone) and/or with bass clarinet and/or bassoon? At your age your operatic voice is just going to keep getting stronger and you may end up eventually having to sing Wagner just to keep it in shape.

You are making great progress toward establishing "you sound". When the hair on the back of your neck stands up as you sing you have got it according to the movie "The Glenn Miller Story". The You Tube clip from this movie with Moonlight Serenade shows when this happened to Glenn Miller and his wife. It happened again to Glenn Miller when he played his version of St. Louis Blues in front of Hap Arnold, the only 5 star general in Air Force history. You tube has a funny clip of this scene.

For your information I found a female contralto Ahactac(reverse N, reverse R) On (reverse R) u (reverse R) on the Ukrainian or Russian X-factor singing this song. The staging was really clever as she was dancing with a man when she sang this song. Another contralto named Svetlana B (reverse N) hh (reverse N) k was also on Ukraine's X-factor. Has there ever been a contalto-mezzo duet? Sorry I don't know Russian.

Ballroom dancing was also big at the University of California at Santa Barbara where I took several physical education classes in ballroom dancing taught by Hollywood dancers like the ones they had on dancing with the stars. They really kept you busy and every fifth class the ladies had to lead. At the beginning of each class the male instructors asked the ladies to raise their hands if they thought they weren't good dancers. They danced with each such lady and made her look like a star.

This is the best of a number of outstanding videos you have done because starting off in the mezzo-soprano range shows just how powerful your voice is. Latin songs are a lot of fun. When I was in eighth grade several friends and I took ballroom dance lessons together focusing on the tango, cha-cha, rhumba and samba. It really helped me play latin pieces on my three saxophones and helped us all stay in shape. You might find it as much fun as trying to sing Carmen Miranda tongue twisters,.

Like Jackie Evancho you are developing a glamorous and elegant style with the beautiful dresses you wear. When you perform in public you might consider doing the big curtsey that ballerinas and some other lady opera singers do to acknowledge the thunderous applause you will undoubtedly get like when you sang with Josh Groban.

I notice you use your hands like Jackie Evancho. My music teacher, Pat Harrington of Phil Spitalny's all girl orchestra would suggest that you start learning conducting. She always said if you could move your hands to the music you might as well learn conducting so if a band or orchestra has trouble following you, you can stand up and show them how you want the music played.

beautiful voice. I agree on the comment above about being rather a mezzo than soprano. Fine rendition I will share. With only 15 years your voice might change in the coming years perhaps darkening a bit. I insist on your beatiful voice you have. Wish you great success in your career. As you possibly now the famous soprano Renee Fleming started as a jazz singer!!

David.. This was a great dance song from 1940 wartime : "Bésame Mucho" ("Kiss me a lot") is a song written in 1940 by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez.
It is one of the most famous boleros, and was recognized in 1999 as the most sung and recorded Mexican song in the world.
The song appeared in the film Follow the Boys (5 May 1944) when it was played by Charlie Spivak and his Orchestra and in Cowboy and the Senorita (13 May 1944) with vocal by Dale Evans. Another great rendition was by Andrea Bocelli.

A big piece of classical music that might fit with your powerful voice if you could write some appropriate words for it is Brahms famous variations on a theme by Hayden. You might experiment with either the Brahms version or the original Haydn version.
