I’m with ya on it being a bit disappointing. :/ I enjoyed it more than the 2019 film! But the music wasn’t as great as it should’ve been and the story loses steam a bit too often in the second half.
@@MamasGeeky that’s totally fair LOL The bar was pretty low. I just sort of wish they’d leave The Lion King alone, now. This, to me, is the ceiling and it’s still not a great movie.
These Disney remakes are soulless and blatant cash grabs. Sadly, they make tons of money because people want something familiar and safe, which is why original films are basically non-existent.
I think the reason I was hesitant about this film was the fact that they never really hinted in the original LK movie that mufasa had a backstory worth exploring also what made that scene when scar through mufasa off that cliff hit so hard for me was the fact that they were brothers and the fact the scar would do that to his own blood was wild and very emotional to see and now they are just changing things that don't need to be changed for a prequel that doesn't need to be made imo
You know it's bad when one of the most generous critics I've ever seen said this sucked. Everyone tried to defend this but I just knew it wasn't... I've been nailing it with my predictions on movies lately as I've defended Wicked before its release when everyone said that movie was going to be a big failure. Turns out I was right on Wicked and now I feel like I'm also right with Mufasa.
Why do y'all keep comparing those two movies just because they are coming on the same day. Both movies will be successful. The ones who want to see sonic will see that. The ones who want to see this will, and the logical ones who want to see both will see both.
Unfortunately you need to do a review for sonic movie three And that is going to be league's better than the boring Lifeless Mufasa. Sonic movie for life and everybody needs to see sonic movie three so that way Mufasa can get crushed box office.
I haven’t seen it yet, but from the moment it was ANNOUNCED, I just knew it wasn’t gonna be good. My friend asked me, “Which film u gonna see: Mufasa or Sonic 3?” This was my response: “SONIC FREAKING 3! U kidding me? Don’t get me wrong I love Lion King, but Mufasa gonna die either way!” 😭
This is 100% the reason they constantly flip to Rafiki telling the story, which takes viewers out of the film and really hurts it. But had to give her that time because of her mom...
After the 2019 one being a billion dollar hit which I still question to this day and now they made a prequel to this which why and like you said why make a live action if you’re just going to make the same copy of the original film
Yeah I'm not exactly jumping up and down to watch this movie but I still bought a ticket to go see this for myself because why not I guess and I'm also going to go see Sonic The Hedgehog 3 on Thursday too so I'm watching both Mufafsa and Sonic 3 on Thursday I'm doing a double feature so that's awesome 🙌 🦁 ⚡

@MamasGeeky I've listened to the soundtrack and l like most of this songs like I always wanted a brother Mille We go together And also that love song I will agree with you that bye bye actually sucks but the overall soundtrack is not bad I give the soundtrack a solid 7 or 7.5 out of 10
I so sick of hearing such mean comments on The Lion King of 2019. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the hate but seriously no need to be harsh. The Lion King 1994 is far superior to the 2019 one, there is no doubt about it. But it just makes me sad that I am the only who enjoyed it for what it is. I sure hope to enjoy this new story of Mufasa origin. I respect every opinion but don’t push it as if it was the end of the world. Just my advise

To begin with, I think this movie should NOT have been made live-action but animated just like the original...it would make much more sense.
