Nice review Bob. I'm glad I took your advice and waited for your thoughts on these hammock. I'm looking forward to the video on the Ridge. I have one of them and love it. Can't wait to see how they upgraded it. Thanks for your videos. I always enjoy them and learn something new.
Thanks for the reply. So happy that I was able to help. Etrol is a good company to work with and they really do want good products at reasonable prices.
Yep, all is fine here. Hope the same for you... I am glad to be back, in a way. I did moss posting but as I said, there are so many new videos being posted that it was best to just wait it out. Got at least half a dozen video ideas in the works. The next will be the new Ridge Outdoor Gear video. These guys have really upped their game nd this new hammock will be an even bigger winner. Look for that one, for sure...
@@michaelhorn9114 Well, hold on... This is a game changer... It is so much nicer than the original Ridge Outdoor gear hammock and THAT was the best budget hammock that I have ever seen. (That is, if what I was told is true. Gonna have to wait and see.)
@@bobamos3628 they stretch still, but if you compensate for that with a slightly more acute angle on the natural hang and be sure you're diagonal. They are great. Definitely not for beginners, It happens to be my first purchase of a hammock so I threw myself to the wolves with this one lol
@@djmarkoch2467 So, they still stretch. You saw the video, was the stretching as pronounced as the one in the video? Or was the stretch acceptable? The one thaat I was sent to research was unacceptable. To me at least. Thanks for the input.
@@bobamos3628 not quite so severe from what I feel while inside. If you hang it too loose it definitely stretches a bit more. But it's comfortable, and I haven't ended up on the ground yet !
As you can see in this video, etrol had issues with this hammock with a second run of production. They were suppose to have corrected that issue. You may have gotten one of those bad ones. Did you contact Etrol on this and get them to make it right?
My understanding is that the new ones will be the latest version and is suppose to be corrected for the wrong fabric. They did not send one to me but I am hopeful that they did correct the issue.
Nice review, though I think you may have an impossible task comparing versions. The company seems to be finding its feet with material and design changes. I've just received one, described on amazon with the word "upgrade" in the title. Not identical to your "upgraded" version though. For example the two suspension straps weigh 260g, i.e. somewhere in between the two you show. Also the total weight for my setup is 1.43kg, i.e. nearly a third heavier than specified. My poles are red, not sure if that means different source / quality, but one has a section which doesn't fit very far into the next. Anyway, I've contacted Etrol and I'll see what they say.
Adam, Thank you so much for this mini review on this product. I agree that they may still be trying to sort out their material choices. Or... and I hte to think this, they may be bending to a price instead. Either way it is nice to know what our viewers are experiencing. I have lost my contact within the company so no longer have that "IN" that I once had. Let us know how they respond to your inquiry. Thanks again, much appreciated.

That Ridge video is up. Have a look. It's the best budget hammock that I am aware of.
Hi from Ireland I've just bought 3in 1 Eagle. I found your video very helpful. Great video .thanks roger

I have one of these, and a WoneNice* Rain fly that i use for backpacking fishing trips. 75 liter ruck holds them nice.
When did you purchase yours? I am trying to confirm that they actually corrected the problem.

Thanks Clive.. I am about to watch your latest in a few minutes after addressing the responses to my videos.
@@bobamos3628 Thank's Bob. Have a good day .
I reckon it will better to have two hammock side tied-down? body weight just sank too much. I have ordered one to have a feel.
Let us know how it feels. I am interested in finding out if they have solved the problem of stretching so much.
