    great video Roman!! It's a shame that here in Brazil we don't have an archery shop. To test new bows. I really liked my V3²⁷. And wanted to buy the V3x ²⁹ next year.

    • @romanracela
      @romanracela  2 года назад +2

      Although they're basically the same bow, I think you might find the V3X 29 a little bit better because of the slightly longer riser and the option to use an inline sight and low profile quiver.
      If there is no bow shop in Brazil, that's your opportunity to start one! You'll be the go-to archery shop in the country!

  • @thereaper4396

    Went to my local shop and shot the V3X 29” and 33” models (both models maxed out on weight WAYYYY over what is advertised which was a pleasant surprise for me as I like shooting lots of weight), the 29” was not nearly as smooth as the 33”. I’m a 29.5” dl and had nightmare type flashbacks thinking about how similar the string angle was to the Triax. I shot lots of shots through both models and really enjoyed how pleasant the 33” model was to draw and shoot, but ultimately decided it was just way too long for my hunting application. I really really wanted to like the 29” model, but just could not suffer through the string angle. I went back and selected a V3 31” off the rack and gave it a try. Even though it doesn’t have ANY of the new features I came to the shop to originally purchase a new bow for, I think the V3 31” might be the best bow I’ve ever shot. I will be ordering one very soon since they didn’t have any models with black 75lb limbs in the shop. My God the 31 is amazing.

    • @romanracela
      @romanracela  2 года назад +1

      The V3 31 is indeed amazing. I thought I was going to sell mine, but decided to keep it and just added the V3X 33. I think that out to around 60 yards, the two bows are virtually equal in performance...at least when I'm shooting. The V3X 33 shines at distances beyond 60 yards.
      I had the opportunity to shoot them back-to-back for just a 3-shot end for each bow to 100 yards. I wanted to find out which one I could shoot more accurately "cold bow" at a 100-yard target. I posted a video of it about a week and half ago. Long story short, I got a sub-4" group with the V3X 33.
      Enjoy the V3 31. You will love that bow as I have with mine. 👊

      @@romanracela love your video review. You were very fair and accurate on your assessments. I just feel the 31 fits me better especially since I don’t shoot past 50 yards and I can’t justify lugging the V3X 33 through the timber and terrain I hunt. I am also strictly a whitetail hunter.

    Roman! Thanks for this video! A couple of questions as I am new to your page. What is your Draw Length?
    Also what is that Release you are using and what is the wrist strap/string material you are using with it. I like that idea of something around my wrist but isn't thick.

      Same draw length here. I have the 31.5 VXR which is really fun to shoot, but that V3X 29 is really catching my attention. The string angle even at 29 looks like it would work for me as well. The new color and new accessories - ugh I didn't think I would be buying a new bow, but Mathews probably has done it again.

    • @romanracela
      @romanracela  2 года назад

      @@stephenpilzner1621 I think having the accessories is a compelling reason to upgrade for those who hunt in the west and hunt with a quiver on. I've shot a V3X 33 that's fully accessorized. It's 10 ounces lighter than and felt just as stable as my fully setup V3 31.

      @@s.g.holmes I think you will love the V3X 33. Shoot both versions and you'll notice the difference in the smoothness of the draw cycles. Just draw slowly so you can tell. @@romanracela So yesterday I ended up shooting the 33, 29, and my 27 for nearly 1.5 hours. The 33 shot wonderfully. But to my surprise so did the 29…I was shocked. 29 Draw cycle was much smoother than the 27 (not as smooth as the 33), it held wonderful and was quiet as heck! The string angle didn’t bother me like the 27…so I walked out with the 29 - not what I expected!

      @@romanracela I thought it was a little low myself so I had everything checked. True weight was 76.5lbs and actual draw length measured 30 3/8". Brace height and axle to axle were within 1/16, strings and cables are new GAS set with about 200 shots to shoot in before tuning.
