The fact that by default anyone given a free seat can upgrade themselves to a paid seat without needing anyone's approval is definitely a dark pattern. No other software works like that.

Yes, and then explain Freelancer options, when Dave is a frelancer and paid own Professional plan. But when he want collaborate with another designers, he need to invite them to his team and paid for full seats for every single one (even when they allready paid in their team). Or if he want to work for more companies, every single company need to pay for him. So for one single designer called Dave, we need to pay figma five times or more... Make sense?

Cool improvement but who pays for full seats for example dev mode? Can we as designers and admins refer payments to developers?

This can be done better.
We can understand behind are serious constraints, but… especially upgrading the number of seats is really cumbersome.

I haven't had as many problems with SaaS billing as I have with Figma. Many dark patterns.
I have paid for the same persona many times due the unclarity of the pricing system.

If I purchase annual seats, can I unassign one person's seat and transfer it to someone else at no additional cost?

So as a designer with Professional license how can I share my designs with a developer so they can use Dev Mode?

I'm really overwhelmed by the amount of know-how required to understand and manage this system. Figma makes me feel stupid. I don't like that.
