Clare Hall Boat Club at the Spring Regatta, May 2021

The recent Spring Regatta on 30 May, organised by Cambridge ’99 Rowing Club, was the first opportunity for Clare Hall Boat Club (CHBC)’s new rowers to show the skills they’ve acquired over the past few weeks.
Timo Haber, President of CHBC, shares:
“Over the course of approximately 1km, two crews raced side by side, down the long reach of the Cam. Our novice mixed crew - comprised of 4 women and 4 men - did pretty well for their first race after only approximately 10 outings. During the first race, they ended up in a dead heat with X-Press Boat Club, with X-Press conceding afterwards. The second race was the one where the crew rowed better…however, so did our competitors! We lost against the Churchill Mixed Crew by a rather long distance. Most importantly, however, the new rowers had a great time, and we are grateful to everybody who came out to support us on the Bank 😊”
