THANK YOU! I've been sewing for over 40 years, professionally about 25. I recently ran into severe birdnesting while making face masks for my granddaughter. I tried "everything" to fix it. After watching this video I realized I had really only tried 2 fixes. I'll be watching, pausing & trying a fix until I figure out exactly what my machine's issue is later today. I appreciate your calming voice as you walk through your videos, I'm usually in a panic when something goes wrong or I'm having a hard time understanding something. Your calm voice "talks me down from the ledge" every time!!
@@MadamSew The first thing I did was clean the bobbin mechanism. There was so much dust in there it looked like a hamster nest! I rethreaded the top and the bottom. WORKS PERFECTLY! Thanks again!!
Can I just say, your blog post on this made me so happy tonight! My 3 month old machine has been making this horrible clattery noise and birdsnesting for ages and I was so mad, thinking it was a big issue. One quarter twist of the bobbin case screw seems to have sorted it out perfectly!!! ❤️
My last birds nest was massive. I had changed to a new bobbin while quilting and had not put it in correctly. (Note to self: remove the quilt so you can see what you are doing) Your extra ideas will keep me tangle free in future. Thank you
I found your video , thank you for your great tutorial, I have a juki machine very new and I am having a issue when The very beginning of a stitch is a nest then stitches fine but every single time I start the very first stitch always has a little nest every time what could this be , my tension is on auto , I am using different thickness fabrics still does it regardless , thanks

Another cause for nesting is thread snagging. Check the bobbin case and hook for evidence of wear or needle strikes.

I am more of a visual person. It would of been nice when vocally explaining, that you would be also visually demonstrating at the same time.
