Love Chris, have been following Chris since 2015-2016 and the comments about Gary Vee stuck with me quite a bit. Was also following him back then, but I continued following Chris-the difference is, I think, Chris was/is an introvert, still remember back in the day with Jose Caballer and The Skool. That was when I was also similar and connected with the introverted side of you, and now you're taking over the world. Seeing you go through that transformation gave me permission to also go through that transformation. So Chris, you've been able to be a mentor from afar, and you've always focused on giving value from day one. So with that, I know that when I see a video of you, I know I'm going to take something of value from it. This episode is no exception, listened to it once, and took some notes + shared some time stamps with Andra (wife) and my brother. Will listen to it again. The part about where you tell stories to learn who you are is so connective and relatable. Excited for what you're doing Chris, and well done on this conversation Eric! What a blast!

I'm watching a lot of videos with Chris and he delivers his ideas in a very clear way. I like that. I was like "yes, great you can ask for a lot of money and there is people buying, but what if I can't replicate this yet and need to pay the bills?" and he actually answers this in another video saying something like: if you can close a lot of deals you should price more, if you're receiving many "no" you're asking too much. Very simple yet effective way of thinking.
Skip to 56:17 Importance of finding the right coach or mentor. Then go to the beginning and watch this video. Chris resonates with me because he doesn’t pretend to have all the answers and allows you to see him evolving in his thought process on-the-fly rather than regurgitating templated spiel each time. I also appreciate his candor on Gary V whose prediction content has not aged well as I suspected would be the case years ago. Great discussion 👏🏾
Also, Eric, I really enjoy your interview style. I appreciate you asking the deeper questions so that it's not just surface answers. And then there are those little gems like how asking people if they've ever invested in a mastermind before is one of the best indicators of ability and willingness to pay.
:56 Is where the video starts, I personally dislike when they put too many clips in the beginning because it isn't the same as the context before and after
In defense of Gary, he is talking good about marketing and attention in general. Very valuable. Lots of wisdom. Especially meetings with real customers.
a truly collaborative community is what it sounds like the overarching goal! Like the inverse of monopolizing. There’s more than enough for everyone to help each other out!
I agree. Naturally, I’ve been more drawn to finding my tribe over vanity metrics like followers and that has been more beneficial towards my growth and development. My circle focuses on helping each other succeed by completing, not competing.
Chris Do is amazing!!! I think the interview would have been better if the interviewer had asked deeper questions and gotten to know Chris Do from a deeper level and how he transformed his thinking to become the person he is now.
One of the best compliments i get is when people are surprised that how I am in person is exactly how I am online. (A client joked because she didn't think I was SO feral about Star Trek as I show up online, and I go to events in a Starfleet uniform 😂) Anything else than authenticity and transparency would be exhausting.
Chris brought a lot of MINDFUL insights to this conversation. Wish it could have been a bit slower, so Eric could have engaged a little bit more in the concepts and perspectives that Chris was putting forth. Overall though, a great one and I thank the both of you for putting this out for us to watch!
I think what you gotta do Chris is team up with Superheroes and create meaningful stories surrounding the Futur. Bring on all thr storytelling skills into creating a new future. You haven't lived up to the name yet. But there was purpose behind that name. It's time for that name to ring true
Really wish Eric could read the room and let Chris talk about some of the topics he was really passionate about. The stupid urge to jump to your pre-written bullet points.
You do know this is a conversation and there’s no right or wrong way to have one right? You can talk about whatever you want to talk about with him when you chat w him.
Gary Vee is just another big jersey talker. Never provided anything with value but he was kinda big. All his predictions about NFT were basically rug pulls. He deserves to be forgotten.
I don't think he witholds. I just think he is a traditional corporate/brick and mortar CEO. His online success was a secondary effect of his more tangible organizational experience. People don't really have an interest in what GaryVee is best at (building real-life businesses). His brand is just an after effect and definitely still a helpful voice for those who need that bridge into the mind of an entrepreneur or to take risks beyond what is not working for them currently. I wouldn't call Gary V a personal brand expert. He's a good all-around business man and yes this includes solid branding, marketing and content creation.
@@IndigoWisdom1back in the day he did provide some really good insights. Now he’s just preaching for engagements and saddles everyone with the “hustle” culture. His colonies glassdoors are indicative of this. Agree with you btw
Is there a statistic analysis of people that made it without a couch and people who had a couch? I think people that chose a couch would have succeded without it. Is all an insecurity market. People that need someone to reasure them because they are afraid of doing things. Like an over priced psychologist.
What happened to Gary Vee's his NFT supper club is that thing dead I wonder I mean he did his NFT as pass to his VeeCon events about NFTs now like Mila Kunis who spoke at one of them owes millions in fines on her NFT Marijuana cat lady grandma cartoon series project.
You just said he does $5-6M a year and he says GaryVee is terrible?! GaryVee grew Wine Library in the prehistoric digital days by waaay more than that. I don’t even watch GaryVee anymore but I didn’t since Ask GaryVee Ep. 33. Chris Do can’t even hold a pinky to what GaryVee has accomplished. Go sit in the corner with the other little kids, including myself 😅. See you in the kiddie corner my guy.
Selective hearing. He didn’t say Gary vee is terrible. But his content formula is bad for the time where there is slot of good storytellers and content creators. And he is recycling a narrative for too long. Still a great person and entrepreneur but needs to innovate his approach of delivering content.
Chris is a genius; friendly and relatable. I'm so glad I bumped into his content. Gary V- does not come across as genuine. The kindness and "mom" stories seem to be a tactic to win on the other side of his sort of losing streak. The F bombs do not sell conviction. And I'm a tiny spec in the content world just beginning to get a grasp of things and understand.. but we see through the Bull🫠

Very insightful, transparent, and deep conversation with Chris! Appreciate you for holding space for this, Eric 💜
got multiple super helpful insights from this one thanks eric
Watched the whole thing! Chris is the legend. Love seeing how his brand expands wider than creative community.
Awesome - great content. Chris, you’re a balanced, structured thinker. And Eric you’re asking great Q’s.

Such a fantastic interview! I love how clearly Chris Do communicates.

This episode is absolute fire! I wrote down so many things. Thank you ❤
Very interesting interview. Great value, thank you for sharing insights to small business and creators.

Min 13-16 put somethings into context for me. Thank you.
Such an amazing conversation and great valuable information

We have done that in an older interview from years ago :)
love it
Such a great interview I learned so much thank you.
Chris keeping it real!!

Breath 1: Gary V gotta write new content (40:42) - Breath 2: (Recites old Gary V content) (1:00:19)
O NO!!!! RIP KEIR. I'm sure he was grateful that you made him do those videos.

Bobby 2 pants😂😂😂 Yeah Gary ain’t bought the Jets yet wtf going on #GaryVee😂😂😊
I would guess the majority of content creators online ARE NOT showing who they REALLY are. Everyone shows the world what they want people to see.
I dunno Chris content seems more engaging than Gary and I am still a fan of Gary rooting for his Attention Arbitrage book roll out to take off
I like anyone
I feel alone
because people don't like man
this time I like change ok
i love how they covered Gary vee's content.
He is washed AH, now he's 24/7-ing Twitch livestream but with 15 viewers too.. its sad
Where is the gary vee comment? Clickbait title?
garyvee fell off because he withholds information and leads people astray
What do you mean by that? Would you be open to elaborate?

1. Good info!
2. It could be the JhnyWlkr, but Eric looks like a muppet to me.

why? people no job
