- Driving a empty rolling stock transfer after delivering one of the last Class69. Now on my way back from Ål to Voss with the brand new Stadler FLIRT Class 75.
The Stadler FLIRT will service the Voss line between Bergen and Myrdal as well as a extra train between Bergen and Gol.
Today there are no Class69 left on the Bergen Line. The last of the Class 69 are servicing Line L2 Stabekk - Oslo S - Ski in Oslo.

Here we are again, four years later, enjoying this great video. I'm wondering where you are today, and hoping all is well and that you are happy in your work. Thanks for the many beautiful trips!
Thank you! I'm still operating train, but on freight now. Thanks for watching :)
Yes, I'm a frequent but silent passenger. Rode the fright nights thru the mountain passes, the plow season etc. Winter in Norway and Switzerland are the most beautiful railways in the world. We thank you so much for the years of the greatest content of all railway experiences!@@RailCowGirl
Hello from Tucson, Arizona. I love your videos. It is interesting to see your side of the world.
Now a nice quiet and smooth ride on the FlIRT with my HinduCowGirl coffee mug in hand. Did you ever realise just how many members of the herd there are and from how many different countries we are from. Speaking different languages but united in the love of train travel. Its just mind bobbling to me. You have started something that we are all proud to be members of. Thank you and we love you!!!
I love how you film to let us see from your point of view, especially you starting from outside and then going into the train and then the driver’s seat. I love the channel and your efforts, keep up the great work.
In south-west Germany we have these "Stadlers", too. Serial number 429 001 - ff. Serving for DB as the so called "Süwex"-trains going from Mannheim via Saarbrücken and Trier to Koblenz and vice versa with a branch line to Luxembourg City. The latter ones are double-deckers, also built by Stadler, coupled together with the before mentioned ones between Koblenz and Trier. There they split or are unified.Every hour one train in both directions, every day. Very comfortable trains, with quite cheap prices for the passengers (they are regional trains subventioned by the three involved federal states) and very, very fast. Between Homburg and Kaiserslautern and between Neustadt and Ludwigshafen 160 km/h is their regular speed. Their acceleration after stops is admirable. The trains here are painted all white with a little bit of blue here and there. We here simply love them and since they serve on this line, the numbers of passengers have at least doubled! How do the personal and the passengers in Norway get along with these trains? Everbody content? It´s Swiss made quality, like the famous EL18. So it should work, I hope. Immer gute Fahrt!
I love the rides in snow. So peaceful and beautiful. Thank you so much for this posting. :)
Wow! I guess you will be FLIRTing more with us in the future. I really appreciate the great video. The country is so beautiful with her mantle of snow and ice. Thank you again, HinduCowGirl, for all the wonderful chats and videos you put up on RUclips. Take care!
Amazing. What a wonderful view of a wintery northern world. It's also incredibly quiet in the drivers area. I'm amazed. love seeing the snow bound countryside. The tunnel at 48:45 is cool too. Thanks. -Henry
And I assume the one at 1:06:00 is for avalanches? -H
Well Herd... I'm back with a smile on my face and a song in my heart !
There was some really beautiful scenery along this route.
Thanks for the ride along !
As always, you work is always appreciated!!
SO beautiful with the snowy background! Thanks from New York for another first-rate video, HinduCowGirl.
Just started to watch this.... but I wanted to say there is no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than go flirting with you!!!😀
This is one of your best videos. I enjoyed the ride.
Subbed. Watching your videos is such a calm experience. The snow just adds to the experience. Good Job, Keep it up.
Excellent rail movie! Thumbs Up Best Regards from France Bruno
really like all the lights in the tunnel
looks to be a beautiful train. Thank you for sharing with us all :)
Ich liebe diese Fahrten, besonders im Schnee
another beautiful video! I love snow and cold weather, so few people do these days.
$14.99 for a teacup/coffeecup that seems a bit much. everybody wants the money.
everything in EU is more expensive than in Russia, in EU 1kg potatoes costs 1.6 euro, we can buy 6 kg for the same money, 12 eggs in EU costs 3.32 euro, in Russia 0.90 euro for 10 eggs.
Yes it seems like a lot of money but it is more a donation to help pay for the equipment to take and edit the videos which is not cheap so we can enjoy these videos.
Fine cab ride. Much appreciated.
Beautiful!!
I just watched a cab view on the New York city subway. I think I'll stick to HCG's videos. Much more peaceful!
so beautiful.
I made a mistake: They, the "SÜWEX"-trains are all white, but with some red patterns here and there, mainly left and right at their heads. Those in all white with blue patterns are the so called "VLEXX"-trains. They go between Saarbrücken and Frankfurt and are diesels. No catenary i the middle of this line. The CFL Stadler double-deckers have a nice name too: KISS! So KISS and FLIRT are joined between Koblenz and Trier. Isn´t that nice?
There is also 69 om the line to Moss i Rush hours.
If only we had train's like this in America. Hate to say it but our tracks are terrible. Amtrak is a joke. I've gotten several friends to watch this and hopefully one day some of us are coming just to ride this train. Thanks so much.
Woaaw .... wonderful .....
Lovely cabride through the mountains. Want more such videos. What are the names of the stations we just passed by? Would love to know the station names if possible.

New to the channel. was wondering why the whistle blows when there seems to be nothing around. in the states trains blow whistle at road crossings and the beginning and end of moving etc...I enjoy the view and the videos
kevin skaggs There are crossings, but they may be small ones..
@@susanadams4944 ok thanks
Funny end by coupling two ... FLIRT :)
That couple at the end, looked so hard :) Flirt in front got realy shake.Thx for another relaxing trip
Completely within normal force :) 1.5kmh on coupling :)
We all believe in your amazing abilities. Otherwise we would not travel with you all trips :D :D
Top vídeo 👏👏👏
I feel sad because I miss you and our friends.
Hopefully things will be back soon, Julia :) Miss you guys too :)
HinduCowGirl hi ♥️
Got the same horn
I must say, the 75 is very handsome.
I suspect that FLIRT is an acronym for some sort of service.
Could someone explain the meaning ?
No more wounded duck horn LOL
Hahaha!
You can “Flirt” with the herd anytime HCG .
Jeg elsker deg.. 😃. No relax, but I love your videos though ❤️
HinduCowGirl seems another driver that uses a Go Pro like yourself needs some help with the night settings you yourself use, his RUclips name is Don Coffey, they did ask if someone knew you to get in touch to see if you could help him out. Also, I take it those class 69's are heading down to the south of the country now.
Posted in his community with my GoPro Settings :)
Hva i all verden skjedde på Finse? Hvem vet?
Another question: if you are coming at a rail switch that is backwards to direction of travel and if the switch is stuck going to the siding track, would the wheels of your train correct the stuck rail switch or derail the train?
Points and lights are interlocked. If the points were not set for that line then the light would be red. Whether the train would derail or not I will leave for HCG.
Depends on the switch. Some will be "forced" in the right direction, but will need inspection afterwards. For high speed switches that has 2 engines or more has so much force it will derail the train. There are safety measures i the signalling system making sure that this does not happen....
@@RailCowGirl It just reminds me of the 'runaway train' movies. Is there any gauge or warning for too much lateral speed to make a turn without derailing? Silly question probably, but, something I find interesting. Thanks for your fine vids.
Do all trains have a deadman switch and how does it work today?
We use a system called SIFA. You need to be alert, Hold a pedal down and lift your foot an engage it again every 60 seconds.
The Sifa (Sicherheitsfahrschaltung) explained by HCG is a deadman switch system, so yes.
should have let you go first so you didn't have to keep stopping for that other train in front.
Don't you get the urge to just let er go!
Not really :)
So the blank triangle means you should be at the authorized speed now?
That's correct. You have a downward pointing triangle with a number in it first. This is a warning of reduced authorized line speed ahead. Then you have the speed marker, usually on the back of a increased line speed-sign for the opposite direction. The speed marker is a small downward pointing triangle
is it a quieter engine ?sounds like it in the video
Modern machinery :D
семафоры классные в начале видео
On average, how many sleepers per km?
Meu Deus que tanto frio
Do you just randomly blow the whistle or is there a very specific reason for blowing it?
Yellow diamond signs
Thanks for the new video HCG. Why were you held so long at Finse to allow the Bergen train to overtake? You must have been at least 20 minutes ahead of them when you arrived there, going by the time it would have taken the freight train to get to the next passing siding heading east. It is not as if they were able to go any faster than you, and you had the advantage of not having to make any stops.
Must think forward ;) too many trains between Voss and Myrdal ;)
@@RailCowGirl I only remember one heading east after Finse - the Oslo train that passed you up the hill from Voss. :-)
Security Stop at the beginning ? Why? Speeding?
Why, Hindu never speeds..........
Maybe the deadman switch kicked in.
It was a lame error. Heheheeh. The speed is restricted by the ATC to 40kmh when it has no signal update. The Balise for the update is in front of the switch. So I increased the speed too early even if I was allowed to. The ATC was like “computer says no” (little Britain joke).
@@RailCowGirl Understand. I hope you do not get in trouble or even get an entry because of that
Hahahaha! No, I won't. I could have lifted the restriction myself before it happened, but I didn't LOL!
Where are the steam locomotives? 🚂
I want to shovel some coal and feel the heat from the firebox of the boiler!
Why is the scenery on either side so blurry and undefined. I expected better than that from you.
Because RUclips had problems with rendering as stated in various posts :) the video is really in 4K, but youtube has only processed it as 1080p. The blurring is sadly a result of that.
Sorry if that disappoints you. That said, I’m also streaming this video as part of the playlist on the stream, which is streamed in 1440p or 2K :)
@@RailCowGirl I am not disappointed. I am merely expressing my surprise since I don't recall ever having seen that at any other time in your presentations. (Maybe I should have made my point a bit more subtle). Sorry about that.
It's really bugging me and other creators on RUclips that the services is unable to provide a stable processing of each file. It has become better and things are turning into 1080p at least... Even though all my uploads are 4K, hopefully they'll be able to fix the last part making sure all files turn to 4K again. :D
